Trending on Facebook:

"Disney's Fastpass: Theme park tests promotion as exclusive access purchase for Toy Story Mania ride"

You can't buy that kind of publicity.
Facebook tailors trends to your browsing history anf what you "like" on facebook. So if you frequent WDW websites or like WDW on Facebook, it's going to pop up. If not, then there will be something else in it's place.

Oh come on, it's not like Disney is putting on Michael Vick' s Dog Show. Trees do grow back.
That's such an ignorant statement I don't even know how to comment back...destroying the earths ecosystem might not be a big issue for you, but it is to some people. Not that it's a huge topic of debate for myself, but it is a valid point. I just find it odd that a company trying to go green is gonna waste tons of trees each week...that isn't being green or Eco friendly at all.

True - they shape things - but its not like you need to be all Disney to see it. Under that story I get trending stuff of things there really are no direct ties to. The facebook trending was linking to the Orlando Sentinel article.. and I'm sure it's not what Disney wanted to see in millions of their Disney fan's facebook feeds.

The number of trees used to put on this little show is pretty insignificant, though I understand its importance to you as a matter of principle. Still, I'd be surprised if more trees aren't consumed just to make napkins for Epcot than are used in this little show.

I hope no one harping on this issue has a collection of park maps or printed Disney napkins or anything made of trees. There's waste all through the parks, and if they plant 3 trees for every 1 (something Disney has been doing for some time, I've heard) there's zero issue.

In the past few years I've wasted money buying park tickets (which are made out of paper).

I keep all my theme park geekery off of Facebook.
None of my trending stories have to do with Disney, theme parks, or anything related to fastpass.

Ulitidor entrance, drop off point for CM's from parking, merch un/loading and F+B un/loading.
Well, if they're removing Pinocchio that could eliminate the Food and Beverage unloading component. I could also see the long alleyway between it's a small world and Haunted Mansion get used for more backstage function.

This entire concept of paying money to ride a ride, that you already paid park admission for, to gain access to has to stop. Its reprehensible, egregious and will blow up in Disney's face.

The idea alone that paying $90 to get into DHS is mindblowing but then to turn around and charge more money so you can ride one specific ride? Thats a vulgarity thats NSFW.

This is a little different than in 1971 when we had $3.50 for admission and $4.75 for a 7 ride ticket book.

I should not have to schedule months in advance when I suddenly feel like riding Pirates of the Carribean. That is wholey unacceptable. I should be able to go to the parks, when I want, wait in line and ride whatever I want. I should not be turned away because I didnt "schedule."

Its just vulgar.
And sadly there are probably guests that think this is great!

Had a discussion about the parks at lunch today with some friends and they both seem to dislike what's happening but they're still going...

That's why we can't have nice things.

The number of trees used is wholly insignificant in the aspects of green. The napkins are made from secondary fiber. The maps are upwards of 50% clay.

Village Haus sits on top of that entrance so there is no reason they couldn't extend the tunnel out further, thus giving the "second floor" of the park access to the area behind IASW.
I would love for that to happen, but it would require a massive amount of work, including the reconfiguration of the bus route, the entrance to the Utilidors, the relocation of break rooms, moving the rout for 3-D glasses pick-up, and so on.

MagicBands and the electricity required to power the MyDisneyExerience App have to be worse for the environment compared to maps and tickets.

All those people who would have left their phones at home, or batteries run dry, are now plugging into outlets to make sure they get a full charge and draw as much electricity on Disney's dime as they can. That's a lot of extra power usage.

Yes but when you take into consideration the amount of CO2 produced by the OK bagpipes, the overall carbon footprint for both shows is about the same.
