FYI:
Orange County SO is now running radar inside the parking lots of Studios & DAK.
I hope the frozen ride isn't a poorly told version of the movie (for reference, see the little mermaid ride and try to make sense of it, as if you've never seen the movie) and that the entire show building gets a full remodel to remove all that mold and grossness.
I think those cloned rides from DCA get a "pass" at DisneySea because so few people have ever been to see them. Or they see the pictures of all that fake seaweed and decide because the purchase orders were approved by Oriental Land Company accountants that the rides must somehow be superior. They aren't. They are clones from DCA. Still cute though.
What's funny is that A Bug's Land at DCA gets any hate at all. It's a little land that's cleverly themed and nicely crafted, with four cute little family rides in it, plus a very good 3D show with It's Tough To Be A Bug (that's gone sparklingly digital and is much better maintained than the DAK version). And it has lots of shade from the California sun, and plenty of benches made out of popsicle sticks.
DCA has 21 rides in the park total. A Bug's Land has 4 of those 21 DCA rides. DHS has 6 rides in the park total. DAK has 7 rides in the park total.
DHS and DAK desperately need rides added, and not all of them can be mega E Tickets with 46 inch height requirements. DHS and DAK, and to a lesser extent Epcot and Magic Kingdom, would be helped immensely if they had A Bug's Land or Mermaid Lagoon area added with these four cute little family rides in them. It would help fill in the threadbare tapestry of missing attractions for the WDW parks.
But if folks want to sniff that A Bug's Land or Mermaid Lagoon are dumbed down additions with cheesy kiddy rides, then so be it. But both A Bug's Land and Mermaid Lagoon are found in parks bursting at the seams with rides and attractions that most WDW parks would kill to have for their guests.
FULL DISCLOSURE: I enjoy Aquatopia, and ride it on every Tokyo visit.
Off the top of my head there is Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular (and it is spectacular), Disney Jr. Live on Stage, World of Color, and a lot of smaller live entertainment like Five and Dime, Mickey and the Newsboys, Goofy conducting the Paradise Bay fountains, live bands at the Paradise Garden Grill seating area, a show with DJ in Cars Land and probably more that I am forgetting. I'm sure @TP2000 will be along presently with photos of all of the current shows at the park.just wondering, does DCA as musical shows like DAK? (DAK as 2, and will have a third with rivers of light).
I know people love to put a lot emphasis on rides alone.
Haven't seen the HK one yet. I think it is more out of place there. The thing I dislike about the most is that you can see that parachute ride so well from Frontierland. People complaining about sight lines with regard to Swan and Dolphin would die if they saw that...
I would have to think so. They are the only Toy Story related lands that capture the film's environments and feeling. Sure Midway Mania tries to justify through back story that you're under Andy's bed, but Toy Story Land seems to do put guests in Andy's backyard as was intended much more effectively. It's pretty easy to build a box that says "Midway Mania" to enclose the attraction and call it a day.Anyone else think it's weird that neither of the Toy Story Playlands include the most successful Toy Story attraction ever? How expensive can TSMM possibly be to build - no sets, busbar system. Seems like WDS and HKDL could benefit from it greatly.
Wouldn't mean much either since it wouldn't make a meaningful contribution to capacity. You thought they would have learned from TSMM and Soarin'.I'm hearing the track will be extended, but I doubt it would be much.
You're not wrong, but we still don't have to like it. I have every expectation that the Frozen attraction will be a solid D Ticket or better attraction that in a vacuum will be substantially better than Maelstrom. My opposition will still remain it's placement.Oh FFS.... its a **** theme park.
If Epcot was curing cancer, I might care more about this. Instead its a 2nd rate dark ride that is in dire need of repair as it is. Its short, has no story and a grand total of four scenes.
Righteous indignation aside, I'm done caring. People are selfish. They only want the parks in their own image.
And fwiw World Showcase Players, one of the original shows at Epcot, closes on Thursday 9/25.

What tends to happen though is that people excuse a thematic break if the ride is good. That's the best case scenario right now.

So early rumors about Bill & Ted 2014 are positive, and suggest ...
...it skewers the Mouse hard. Magic Bands supposedly play a prominent role.
Can't wait for Friday.
