The Spirited Seventh Heaven ...

This is a mistake that many people make. The series isn't supposed to be promoting a culture anymore than they are mocking one. It's like if you had a sitcom based in the world of truckers ... or hell, look at Tim Allen's safe, but bland Last Man Standing that makes fun of a man's man with a family of women.
Except it kinda is. Why else would every single superhero/geeky t-shirt be labeled as "Sheldon's X T-Shirt" when sold online? Or the marketing synergy between the show and DC Comics properties?
Big Bang Theory's done an awful lot in commodifying geek culture and it's probably responsible for a lot of the whole "Fake Geek" backlash that exists within various fandom circles.

Random post Uni thoughts:

So when will Bill Paxton's Twister be closed up and repurposed? I think the novelty of that attraction has run it's course and it's time to get something new in there. Also, I want to point out that I think Uni did a great job with the Despicable Me repurpose. That's a strong IP that both adults and kids like and I'm glad they did it. I like seeing Uni work with their own IP in the parks.

The work at JP seems to be in full swing so more excitement to come in the future. I must say that I still love Spider-Man and I think the refurb keeps it ahead of Transformers in my book but that could purely be because I just like Spider-Man more than Transformers because both attractions are great.

I wish that Uni made updates to MiB when the third movie came out because I actually like the ride. I also think Purell has a potentially excellent marketing spot for the post ride walk to the exit since I always feel like I need Purell after touching those guns.

The Hulk still gives me horrible headaches which is unfortunate since I like the ride a lot. Overall the trip was great and I love the Royal Pacific resort. The perks of a 'deluxe resort' at Uni are great because nothing beats walking on rides all day.

We skipped out on spice road last time to do Tangierene again, but mostly because it was faster.

I do want to try spice road at some point.
One edge it probably has over Tangierene is that the dining area has a much nicer view.

When you think about it, WDW is charging people for a view. Do people really go to the dessert parties, etc for the food? No, IMO, they know that these events are the only way they'll get a good view of the fireworks/show. That's certainly why I've forked over the money to participate in the past. Over the years, all of my best viewing spots have been taken over by restaurants or special viewing.

But as the special events/viewing areas become more crowded (and more expensive) they have lost their appeal - at least for me. The first Christmas parties/ Halloween parties/ Food & Wine Festivals which I attended were wonderful. They aren't worth it, to me, anymore.

Yet another person they've priced themselves out of catering to. It's becoming blatantly clear, they will continue to profit on those who don't care about their money.

Priced out in the sense that I don't feel it's worth the money. Could I afford it? Yes. Will I purchase it? Only under very special circumstances.

But there are guests who could easily afford WDW in the past who are being priced out.

We still have unused days on my 10 day no expiration park hoppers that we bought several years ago, so park admission is already covered for us, but I still would not consider purchasing any of these "upgrades". ButI agree there are a lot of people who have been simply priced out of Disney period. I can't help but think that someday soon these policies are going to bite them in the butt.

Right, I feel the same. I can go but my last trip was proof that I was doing Orlando all wrong. WDW wants someone's money, but they don't want mine, and I'm more than happy to take it elsewhere until they do.

No sir, the focus of the hype, has always been about diagonal alley. Everyone knew gringotts was a 3D ride taken to the next level. No one expected the queue to be as crazy good as it was. I know it lacks touch screens every few feet, so it doesn't appeal to the die hard modern wdw fan.
i agree for the most part but there were some who hyped it before opening like @HTF ...although i cant wait to ride it next summer

But @HTF had inside info. He heard from people that were involved in its construction and when they tell him it's better than he will probably accept that as true.

If I started raving about it, then you could take everything I say with a grain of salt because I don't know anyone behind the scenes anywhere.

which makes it worse because it was people with insider info telling HTF ....Personally i dont care what people say about the ride i ll have my own opinion next summer but it seems the land has lived up to the hype but the E ticket has not...not that its not a great ride
