Mystic manor looks great but I just don't see it as being much more than what haunted mansion should be if it was built today... maybe it's even a tiny bit short of that since mansion has the elevation changes.

This attraction looks to be what mine train should have been... I don't think anyone could disagree.
I think MM would be great as the basis for a new Imagination ride....like unlocking all this mind crap and such...figment instead of the monkey

I was very excited and happy the first time I walked into Diagon Alley but nothing close to tears, that's just nuts. What's your opinion on the spontaneous applause every time the dragon breathes fire in Diagon Alley?
I would applause the first time for amazement but nothing else.
Id save my applauses to live stage shows like FESTIVAL OF THE LION KING.

I get that. You can always save your applause for Celestina Warbeck and The Tales of Beadle the Bard. Both nice shows in Diagon Alley.

Tales is one of the most effective puppet shows I've ever seen. And I've only seen the one Celestina twice, but she nails the role. You'll still be singing the songs the next morning.

But I don't really have an issue with people cheering the dragon. Same reaction as at a great movie (Hulk smashing Loki comes to mind). Because it really is pretty mind-blowing.

BTW the Poor Judgment Crew* is doing the first ever Wizarding World Pub Crawl this afternoon if you (or anyone else) is in the area. Starting 5 pm at Hogshead, eventually taking the train over to Leaky and Hopping Pot. Would be great to meet people in person.

I just looked at a couple of their other videos from that park and they have some great, unique dark rides. Villa Volta is really trippy :)
Everyone here should really give a listen to The Season Pass Podcast episodes 234 and 236 from last year. The former has an interview with the quite funny Bart de Boer, head of Eifling, and the latter includes an interview with Michael Mack, of Mack Rides and Europa Park.

I'll add Godzilla's first appearance in the new movie to that as well. It seemed like everyone in my theater was clapping/cheering after that epic roar.

I already got home from Universal and can't make it. Would have been a fun way to celebrate my 21st though ;)

When I first walked into Diagon Alley I came no where close to crying and I'm a big Harry Potter fan. Maybe because it's just a theme park land? An amazing theme park land at that

I have teared up more than once at WDW. I always get a little weepy during Finding Nemo: the Musical because I see my two little girls growing up, and I totally sympathize with Marlin about being scared of letting them go but knowing I have to. I get weepy during the Lion King whenever I hear The Circle of Life. The music just moves me. I cry a ridiculous amount of tears every time I watch the American Adventure or listen to the Voices of Liberty (to the point that one of the performers came up to me after the show to make sure I was okay. That was embarrassing ) because despite all of our country's flaws, I love it and love living here.

People are moved by different things and have different passions and loves. I think it's wonderful when someone produces something whether it's music, a show, or yes, even a theme park ride or land, that makes us feel. Diagon Alley and Frozen struck a cord with people, and I think that's wonderful.

Obviously film criticism is subjective. But the fact that a dozen Disney animated movies before Frozen came out and didn't get the same hype or hoopla even when they were the most recent suggests that, to a overwhelmingly large percentage of the public, this really is the "absolute best," at least in a generation.

The failure of online posters (certainly not just you) to recognize this fact goes back to my original post on the subject: it says more about the demographics of the internet than the inherent quality of the film.

The fact we're seeing strawman arguments about 6-year-olds being bullied for not knowing the song and theater patrons being "trapped" in sing-along shows just illustrates the online community is trying to invent reasons to hate what is by all commercial and critical measures a really good movie.
I think another fine example of a bad flick that seems popular with certain demographics.. is the entire Transformers Franchise.
IT started average and then went to utter crap of "just mindless explosions.. robots fighting, dumb jokes, and hotgirls..oh.. and no real plot!"

Steve Davison posted on FB he had been talking with the Disney Team about 3 projects.
I think I know what the projects will be!

1. Frozen bathrooms
2. Frozen benches
3. Olaf meet and greet
NAILED IT!!! I knew!
But Honestly.. Benches have NO SPACE in disney.. the removal of all trees and benches everywhere just confirms this.
So instead of benches, we might get a Frozen Spinner or themed shop.

Frozen toilets would keep the lines moving:cool:
Specially if the toilet sings "LET IT GO" everytime you flush.

* I would argue that Princess and the Frog had better characterizations and Tangled had a more interesting plot.

The comparison between Tangled and Frozen reminds me of Little Mermaid vs. Beauty and the Beast. Mermaid was released first, and set the standard for what was to come, but it took a while for the public to catch on to how good it really was. By the time Beauty and the Beast was released, people knew more of what to expect and got excited for it.

Similarily, Tangled, on paper, should have been a mega hit in its own right, but word of its quality took time to reach the general public. Then Frozen came out with a similar look and "feel" and was able to play off of Tangled's good will.

Princess and the Frog didn't have anything like that to play off of. The last hand drawn movie before it was Home on the Range and Bolt had no similarities to it either.
