So a bunch of people who haven't posted on a message board in 7 years still know exactly what is posted here. Maybe they don't post, but they obviously still read here.

It's such a tired joke by now. None of them read. They all have 'friends' that do (and why would you ever want a friend who actually reads such lowbrow crap as these forums, right?) and report to them. And then they immediately have to tweet to each other about it because you tweet about the inconsequential, right?

Yep, because we all know Twitter is where the real Disney and UNI news gets released ... all in 140 glorious characters (probably for the best as most of the Twits can't seem to form coherent thoughts, let alone sentences!)

True enough. But simply spreading existing crowds out to attractions that either are people-eaters that don't have large waits most times, not as well known or are unpopular by shell games (that is what MM+ does at its core ... it makes a 90-minute line at Space Mountain become a 70-minute line by creating a 45-minute wait at say ... Pirates).

Don't get me wrong, I think evening out crowds can be a very good thing. But it doesn't solve the staleness and neglect issues. Once every quarter of a century, the MK should get a REAL expansion with a REAL major attraction or two. As should the other parks.

Yup - but I don't think optimization is bad (like some here). I think some like to think the company can only do one thing at a time or something... Or there can only be one justification for something.

I really am just about spent after wasting so much time explaining the basics. It really is not enjoyable to slog through all the pooh

Your only regret here is that you can't keep the cats all hearded in the same direction. Hmmm, wonder why. Anyway, I have noticed that and wanted it noted.

Potter is awesome. Disney must react. They will. All is proceeding as I have foreseen.

Adios. I have election returns to follow.

Cats? Seeing blue alien sexkitties again, JT?

And how do you know Potter is awesome? The same way you know what's going on at WDW? By never visiting.

Seriously, one day when I am not simply a Faux Top One Percenter I'll spend some money to find out exactly who you are and why you've wasted so much time on this site ...

I know my buddy spirit gets really tired of this debate as well so I ll leave with this fact (not opinion)
number 1 selling blue ray two weeks ago from a 5 year old movie (unprecedented)
ill give you the last opinion
You talking last week of May/first week of June? Frozen outsold it... And you failed to mention as a fact, most (maybe all???) retailers slashed the price of the Avatar blu ray in half... so yep, that had nothing to do with helping sales... Mind you, Frozen is still kicking butt in the DVD/Blu ray sales numbers, and Avatar was now no where to be found, not even in the top 20 with recent sales numbers...

If people truly care about Avatar, then again, where is the hype? When Iger announced Avatar to WDW, the announcement was met with a collective yawn... Maybe some shock, maybe some people scratching their heads, but over all, a big yawn... When media outlets reported it, the comments were telling... Many were questioning Disney's decision, many wondered what Iger was smoking, many brushed it off cause they don't care...

And when Disney released some concept art a few months again, again, a collective yawn... The WOW factor lasted a few days on Disney fan sites, and quickly faded... On real media sites, no one cared... it all went by the wayside...

Sounds like the perfect place for DisneyDaddy.

Just so everyone knows, the author is the same guy who got into a fight with Hokie Skipper on Twitter and wrote that "Wall-E" as date rapist article. As I said over the weekend, 70% brilliant insight, 30% fanboi tweeking. I think you see both in this column.

But really, is there any other reason for Orange Bird or Oswald merch to exist? (And I like Orange Bird!)

I have two OB magnets on my fridge, but only because they cost almost nothing at Prop Control and I like magnets! But I am also old enough to actually remember the OB and where he came from (gay fanbois should read all up on Anita Bryant and what a loving Christian woman she is!)

Oswald? Let's not even mention him.

And Hokie may well have been right, but his endless attacking of me on Twitter says I am glad the dude got in his cyber face!

OK, I toyed with either reporting this, ignoring this or replying. The last won out.

I don't like being called a liar, and if you think I make things up than what kind of no-lifer are you to read and respond to it? I think you belong on the Twitter (although you probably already are there).

Disney's big demo get, which should be obvious to someone with an IQ above room temp in Alaska in winter, is the Mommies. That is why they are spending millions and millions of dollars to wine and dine and BUY insignificant bloggers. Call Gary Buchanan over at Celebration Place. He'll tell you how important these people are. That doesn't mean that other demos aren't important, just that Disney has decided that for WDW the most important people to target are mommies and their young daughters. Period.

Never said that Disney is all about them and no one else. That was you using your 'Spirited Hater' filter to change the meaning and intent of what was posted.

As to Cars Land (again, two words, folks), that franchise while skewing male is considered 'safe' by the Mommy Brigade and, frankly, they were not taken into consideration when the project was green-lighted back in 2007.

And building Pandora is precisely the reason why some (a small group to be fair, but there shouldn't be anyone opposed to Star Wars at WDW) folks feel SW is too much straying outside of the Princess comfort zone.

Thanks, as usual, for your emotion and distortion. You add so much to this place with your presence.
Having just spent eight hours in a car I had some time to revisit my trip to O-town. I think the troubling aspect at WDW is the culture change that has occurred over the years. I am not talking attention to detail, pride of ownership and value over cheap rollout. I am talking about the attitude of not admitting to reality. The first example is MM+. This was an idea that someone sold and no one had the guts to pull after it became obvious that it was going to be pricey and risky. They kept going spending money and still no one stopped it nor has been held accountable. Then the whole blogger deal is a belief that these people matter and are big movers of people's opinions and that these mommies control spending for the masses. I know I maybe old fashion but I still do not see the money justifying the valuation for companies like Facebook, Twitter, etal... These people are just like days in schools with cool kids, jocks, outcasts, nerds, etc. One gravitates to one's taste. Sure some of these people have a big following and become stars Rachel Ray, Dr. Oz and Pioneer woman come to mind but they are the very small percentage of people espousing their opinions and making a living off of it. My point is that Disney believes all of these large people espousing opinions matter and that they are cheap advertising. Rather than quality go for quantity. This may not be the entire company line but the people in charge do not have the guts to take a stand on anything and meanwhile they do nothing. I have daughters that play softball and So I think that way. WDW does not need to swing for the fence but needs several singles to score. The big swing at FLE was a whiff and looks bad. Adding just one ride at that park and something at another park would have been better. Universal has had some homeruns of late and that makes WDW look bad. I hope SW happens but I am apprehensive that the finished product will be a homerun.
Sorry, the drive has made me rambling. Points are WDW is not willing to be honest and can ideas that are bad. examples MM+ and this blogger assault. WDW needs some solid rides instead of swinging big and missing like FLE. I will also say that SW will be announced and touted before Iger retires as he wants something that he can tout as his to justify his place in CEO of Disney rankings. No basis, just opinion.

Oh do I agree with you sooo much.... Avatar was boring, and this is coming from a Comic Nerd (heck I work in comics) and Sci-fi geek... It's sad to say the only person who got excited in my circle of friends and family, was my mom. She loved that freakin movie... She's 63. Target demo?

Also what is the deal with Potter not being in the top 20 IPS? How deep does that list go? I'd love to see where Potter and Avatar land on the list. Potter toys never seemed to sell in the stores, the shelves were always full...

Steve has yelled at me for language. So.

Never has Disney's management been presented with such an obvious 'no brainer' decision than to build Star Wars Land in DHS.

To even doubt this is the right decision shows a level of ineptitude that boggles the mind. :banghead:

Over the decades, I've seen some self-centered, back-stabbing, egotistical buffoons climb the corporate ladder, but I sometimes wonder if The Walt Disney Company has cornered the market on them. :arghh:

Sadly, we both KNOW that they haven't. ... The number of inept people in leadership roles in American companies is mindboggling.

Potter is more of an older (middle school) type book...kids in our school where I teach still to this day eat them up....and secondary aged kids don't buy toys
that's my theory anyway

I'd love to see proof of this.
I asked Nubs for proof, and he told me to fishing on Google.
That's not good enough for me.

I've put stuff out on past threads ... I don't have the info handy, but will try and get something up later in the week if possible. But I'm not sure what you are looking for ... I'm not saying I have proof Disney is in bed with the NSA on a massive city-wide scale mass surveillance project (but wouldn't that be uber kewl if they were?) I just recall seeing things that made me ask a simple question: why?
