Bingo! I've noticed that too, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it for the longest time. And like you said, you notice it in both the paying visitors AND the Cast Members. Not that they are all perfect animatronics in Anaheim, and not that I haven't noticed great CM's in Orlando, but the CM's as a whole in Anaheim just look and act more well rested, more relaxed, and happy with things.

I notice it especially with the female CM's in Anaheim, in the obvious care and time they put into doing their hair and makeup for the day, like women who care about their professional appearance. Especially the young ladies working in Cars Land with their rockabilly hairdos, or on Buena Vista Street with their elaborately styled 1930's curls and waves. And in Orlando with the often makeup-less face and the slightly greasy hair pulled back into a scrunchy as their "hairdo".

There's an apparent difference in the type of life the average Orlando CM lives, versus the average Anaheim CM. It shows in their faces and their demeanor and often in things as silly as their hairdo, or lack of hairdo.

With all due respect, the hairdo thing might have a lot to do with the humidity factor.

Just as long as they stay FAR away from Dennys. Too many childhood memories are tied to the Moons over My Hammy for them to ruin it with shoving characters in my face...
Doesn't that fully depend on what part of the character is being shoved in your face? On that note, is there a Jessica Rabbit Meet and Greet anywhere in the Parks?

Everyone I spoke with at the parks didn't mind that Disney spent $2.5 billion on NextGen after I explained it to them. These are ordinary people, not fans like us. I told them people on the Internet would have preferred that they spent that money on new rides and improvements to existing rides. They all disagreed and thought that the $2.5 billion was well spent. I had this conversation with about a dozen people and every single one said that. Go figure!
Preface: not trying to make fun of you with this.
But when I read your post, I pictured a dude wearing a short sleeve shirt with a tie, pocket protector, and large teeth walking around the parks with a collapsible screen and projector trying to explain to people why nextgen was an actual benefit instead of a misallocation of funds. I just don't see the average park-goer giving a $/@/) about the details of such a thing.
Again, not trying to make fun. Just the image that came to mind.

In order to make Maleficent a more sympathetic character, they made all the good guys from the original film either evil or incompetent.

King Stefan is the main villain and metaphorically rapes Maleficent by drugging her and cutting her wings off to gain political power
The three good fairies are now a bunch of incompetent morons that can't take care of a baby at all, with Maleficent actually watching over Aurora from the shadows over the 16 years and keeping her from not dying.
There is a Prince Phillip in the movie, but he's just a red herring plot device in the third act

Good thing they no longer call it King Stefan's Banquet Hall. That would be a celebration of rape culture.

Asking people in the park is lot different that outside.

Sure some over planning g soccer mom's are going to love this, but I dnot believe for one minute that anyone really wanted this or would be mad if it was gone. It's wasted money and imo ruined it for day guests or last minute ones.

Answer.

Question: What is Disney planning on giving Poly guests free admission to (one day, apparently) starting late July when they close and destroy the pool.

BTW, anyone else notice/weirded out that Disney put out artwork showing children drinking an apparently alcoholic beverage while sitting at the bar at the new Trader Sam's location?
We talked about that while you were gone. No consensus, but some people think it could just be a homely women with short hair and not a kid. In my mind its equally disturbing. You are building a bar and marketing it to either kids or ugly chicks...neither works well for me.

Definitely a woman in a sleeveless shirt.

No, Spirit doesn't know everything. But he knows a helluva lot. And he is even willing to share much of what he knows here with strangers. Aren't you lucky?

Things do change and that is why it, frankly, takes a lot of balls to show up here and do what I do. When things change, suddenly, I'm a liar or had my facts wrong, even when neither of those is true. But would you prefer a site where people just talk about their favorite rides, moderate resorts at WDW or characters? Because that is the other option.

I apologize if what I said came across in the wrong light. What I was trying to say is ideas are always in constant motion and what might be true one day can change over night. That's just how it is. Wasn't trying to drop you in grease. I was trying to make those who can't stand the thought of Disney characters invading world showcase feel a little better.
Most don't see yourself as a liar if what you say doesn't pan out. That was my point, ideas change. what is true one day isn't the next. All you can do is say what you heard at that point in time, you can't predict the outcome. Along the way, you get the enjoyment of spreading what you know and what you have heard.
We come to the board because we are fans and because of the enjoyment of being involved in a community that loves Disney.
Yes these boards do get negative but to be fair with Disney I will say with the exception of the length of time in completion. New fantasyland is a success. It's perfect for the area it's in. I believe Pandora in AK will be a solid addition and blend in perfectly with the parks original ideas and aesthetics. Cars land in California is wonderful.
If Disney's plan is now creating thematic worlds to explore then I'm excited about what Star Wars will eventually look like.
Treasure cove is another land that looks amazing. (Disney Shanghai)

As for world showcase. I am indifferent, build or don't build. Maelstrom isn't a classic ride in my opinion. It's enjoyable. Maybe a Frozen ride changes how we see world showcase. Some on this board will hate it in the area, some will love it. Change just may be good.

BTW, why is it that Song of the South is vile and racist but Peter Pan with it's 'What Makes the Red Man, Red?' number isn't? Oh yeah, like Dumbo it sells hundreds of millions of dollars in merchandise!!!
Man, I cringe anytime that part comes on the film, or when I'm reading the old Little Golden Books versions to my kids. I change it to Native Americans and move along, but my oldest is now able to read and that isn't going to fly for long. It's IMO racist and they are coming off like Dan Snyder and his little Washington football team by ignoring it. In both cases, they can play on "history" when really all they care about is the dollars they bring in.

\Like way too many films today, it simply glosses over the fact that thousands of innocents would have to die for its action sequences to be believable.
Well, In all honesty, every action movie requires extreme disconnection from reality. Iron man probably dies within 15 minutes of the original movie from internal injuries due to his suit testing.

Wish I can like this post 1000 times.

Sadly, some WDW fans would probably say @PeterAlt 's mound of monorail dirt is a more magical addition to a dead area than Potter is.
Why would I or anyone think a mound of dirty is magical? All I did was ask if anyone knew what it was because it was out of place and was obviously a construction site for something. But, whatever. I'm just misunderstood and this is a fight not worth fighting.

As much as I would love a monorail addition and as much as it would probably have been more profitable than mm+ (no joke). Its not happening. They're about to slap a dress on a viking and out Norway to save some money.

I feel that way about people on both sides of the issue that bring up their personal surveys to make their points.

Don't mean to mess up your statistics, but, I had been an executive with my own business, I am not 100% technology savvy, I do not own a smart phone and I am 66 years old. I like it. The reason why I like it is that I see it differently then so many on this board (and others). I don't see it as a total waste of money because it has features that are different then what I am used to. I don't see it as a total waste because there are no giant $$$ signs currently in neon saying how much income it generated. I don't see it as a total waste because a large, large part of it was strictly a much needed upgrade to an old and less then useful IT system.

I don't see it as a total waste because it allows me to make advance FP+ positions that formally I wasn't able to get due to the fact that I still look at a Disney Park as a fun vacation trip and don't necessarily want to get up at the crack of dawn just to be sure that I can ride my favorite. I don't give a rats butt if they are tracking me in the parks, because they have been doing that for years, just with camera's instead of electronically. I don't care if they know what I bought. I didn't go to the shops or dining facilities in costume so no one would know I was there. I don't care if they know what I enjoy for dinner, in fact, I hope that the more they know about that the more likely it will be that it will always be there when I want it.

You mean the people that go there without a preconceived notion about how things should be based on what we, as self-appointed experts on everything, judge to be good or bad? Those fools that go to WDW because they enjoy it and do not spend massive amounts of thoughts about what is making money and what isn't, when it isn't their problem. The same ones that have not erroneously made the call that if they hadn't spend the money on that, there would be so many new attractions that we couldn't even count them all. Is it that group?

That is true, to some extent, but what the hell does it matter. It is here and it is to far into established to ever be replaced for at least a decade. Might as well get used to it. MM+ or some close variation of it, is what we have and what we are going to have to work with for quite a while.

This is going to hurt to say... so I'll just say it. I have not always been sympathetic to Peter's Wild Ride through Theme park operations, but in this case he has done nothing except report what he heard. I know that in the past he has said many things that have totally P.O. many that were logically trying to convince him otherwise, but I am afraid that the current attack, as far as I can see, is really not justified and is more of a reflex kick then a thought out one. Given he does go overboard many times, this I don't see as one of them
Thank you! I really wish I knew what to do to make amends, but I don't even know what I said that got them this way to begin with! It's frustrating to say the least!

Considering Disney characters have been meeting at this IHOP every Wed for at least 10 years I doubt anything will be happening.

No idea where this is, but the lawyers are pretty vicious over these things in Mouse Town. Big stink a couple years ago when they made a day care center take down a mural (WB ended up coming in and letting the center use baby Looney Toons for free). In other words, if I managed the IHOP on 192, I wouldn't get any ideas.

Yes
Biggest difference between WDW and DLR? People are so much happier in Anaheim, both guests and cast. It has been this way as far back as my experience goes (first visit to DL was in 1990). DLR isn't overwhleming and everything doesn't have to be scheduled in advance (an absurd way to visit a theme park) and people are just more relaxed. You don't see those meltdowns a minute that you do in O-Town.

This...this...THIS!!! That was the 1st thing I noticed last May when I visited DL for the 1st time. The ONLY complaint I had about DL CMs was that some of the women had too much makeup on, but that's just my $.02

Peter - it's not that people don't like you, but when you post the same comments in multiple threads and don't let it go, it just gets on everyone's nerves. As far as the pile of dirt thread is concerned, all those comments were just meant to be funny - nothing attacking you. read it again - some of those comments are pretty darn funny.
