The Epcot Manifesto
Silly, the only thing that is going to save EPCOT is when they add the 3rd & 4th festivals so that they can have them running year round and bring in thoze dolla billz y'all.
June 1-Aug 31st : The Epcot Science Fair and Nostalgia Festival -- Come pay for extra merchandise to hearken back to the days where EPCOT was a place of learning and understanding. Buy special nostalgic merchandise and pay for seminars from some of the original Imagineers whose dreams were demolished to create the Epcot we see today!

Dec 1 - March 1: Epcot Winter Wonderland Festival -- Watch as Queen Elsa visits each of the countries in World Showcase and brings her special form of magical merchandise to each of them! Buy Elsa in Japan T-shirts! See silly Olaf melt under the hot Tuscan sun of Italy and buy flavored Italian Ice! Pay extra to watch on the America Garden's Theater as celebrities of yesterday do a full 60 minute concert of nothing but "Let it Go!".

1. You forgot a "dolla" it's dolla dolla billz! Doy!

2. They already do a winter festival thing for the holidays. Now it's just a matter of expanding it to reach flower and garden. Then they can keep the food booths out 365 days a year!

2. Good point. I think I need to rename it to the Frozen Winter Wonderland Festival. They need to cram that expand the Frozen offerings to capitalize on this fad classic film!

Avatarland needs the boat ride in order for Disney to say that Avatarland makes AK a full day park

Yeah, I actually the "Avatar boat ride might be cancelled/postponed" rumor far more disturbing that then Frozen info. DAK really needs Pandora to have two rides. Heck, the park needs more than those two rides, but at least that would be a big start. DAK especially needs a solid relaxing family friendly ride.

I wonder...what if Maelstrom wasn't available for the overlay? Where would they shoehorn Frozen in then?

I think the North Mountain would look fine anywhere between FLE and Circus Land (or on top of the latter). Could almost build another miniland based on it.

To me the bigger question is what else did they plan to do with Maelstrom? I hear it was on the redevelopment block long before "Let It Go" was written. More vikings? More trolls?

Probably nothing.
The refresh that was pitched 4-5 years ago (same time they pitched the new Country Bears show) didn't get funded. I imagine they were fine with the status quo.

Where you can "Build a Snowman", for a nominal fee.

They could just lease out the gift shop to Build A Bear (like T-Rex does).

Retheme Maelstrom to Frozen, put in the sing-a-long on the big screen, make your own snowman, and add Elsa & Anna to the Akershus dining, and the rest of WS will be a ghost town (save for the lines leading to all of those things in Norway). At least for a while...

It isn't. It keeps getting tossed around by fanbois on the net. WDW isn't spending $200 million (or more) on a ride for EPCOT. And it doesn't belong there. Studios, yes.

I doubt it. They planned on doing so back in 2002-03 when they were creating the film. It's 2014 now.

Welcome Back! Sounds like a great vacation :)

Since you mentioned Studios...anything on that front? And, if not Studios, any follow through since Iger & Co teased Star Wars last year at D23 being put in any of the parks?

Yeah I find it ironic that the one park we have heard nothing about in terms of development is DHS -- and that's probably the park most desperately in need of updates and additions.

And Star Wars would be such a no brainer for a major overhaul for there.
