Side note: parking at th national zoo is $22.

That's what the info page says, but if you click into Parking Panda, the zoo lots it showed me are listed at $31 (have a DC trip coming, looked that up a few nights ago and didn't see this until right now). I was a little surprised, but then parking for the hotel is $20/night, so oh well. Probably gonna use the Metro for everything in DC anyway.

Back to your regularly scheduled programming.

Yeah, $31 if you do the reserved/pay-in-advanced parking.

Metrorail? Good luck.

You know for a company that is trying to be syn-energetic, whats the point of having a show that takes place in Orlando and not having an episode at WDW yet?

Given the reactions, I thought I was going to hate that. I think it is kinda cool, want to see it in action and see how they handle him throughout the movie.
Same. I know a lot of people are having their doubts, and I understand that completely (Maleficent). I actually look forward to this film, and I am not that big of a fan of the original Pete's Dragon. (I like it as the classic it is)

They had "The Middle" go to WDW and it was literally the same setups as the ones they used way back when Roseanne went to WDW. I swear the dad begging to go to EPCOT because it had beer were the exact same lines.

In acquisition rumors/news, Disney is interested in acquiring a stake in Major League Baseball Advanced Media(MLBAM), the streaming division of MLB that runs the back end for Disney's WATCH apps, MLB.TV, HBO NOW/GO and others. The league has been trying to spin off the division, given its success beyond streaming baseball games. I know folks like to talk about Disney making more big acquisitions like Netflix, but investing in their infrastructure, especially an area like streaming, is very important if those WATCH apps become the primary way people watch the ESPN suite or the Disney Channel in the future. (It also can have other uses like an American version of DisneyLife)

Okay that was an incredible film. From the nostalgic Disneyland castle intro up until the credits. Bravo!! Disney nailed this one. Go see Jungle Book... It's probably the most visually impressive film I have seen.

Maybe it's sacrilegious - but I think I liked it better than the original!

I always really disliked the ending of the cartoon as a kid. I also now understand how they can move forward with a sequel.

I'm not too down on these live action remakes as long as they continue to do a good job in the vein of Cinderella and now Jungle Book.

Yeah, they just took over the streaming for the NHL.

MLB.TV has gotten my money for a lot of years now....

Wait till Disney finds out that they actually need to invest in expensive infrastructure with a short economic life to support this. People tend to be unhappy with choppy pixelated video when they are paying for access to the streams.

MLBAM is the current standard in streaming video. A minority investment in that would be a very good idea.

Yes it would be an excellent investment I agree, BUT streaming services need vast amounts of CAPEX on a continuing basis in order to remain viable and the equipment has an economic life of 18-24 months, I'm not sure Disney is prepared to compete in a business like that their model is pay once and milk forever.
