Maybe it's sacrilegious - but I think I liked it better than the original!

I always really disliked the ending of the cartoon as a kid. I also now understand how they can move forward with a sequel.

I'm not too down on these live action remakes as long as they continue to do a good job in the vein of Cinderella and now Jungle Book.

Completely agree!! I enjoyed this more then the original also.

I know. They have done a good job. Now bring on Dumbo and Tim Burton.

Fresh Off the Boat? It's made by Fox in Los Angeles.

Still it made be made in Los Angeles by Fox but ABC also shares production costs and this story to take place in Orlando, I would expect a Disney episode as Disney was huge in the 90s and would make sense for a family with 3 kids, that one of the three kids would ask to go.

Even Fox owns Modern Family and they have had two Disneyland episodes.

ABC Studios is not one of the production companies.

I don't really know if I need to be spoiler tagging this, but what the heck. That's a big relief though (but also kind of necessary since everyone was thinking it). IMO? It's a red herring. Her parents were space janitors on the Tantive IV. Point being force sensitivity doesn't have to come from Skywalker midichromosomes

Just saw a late showing of The Jungle Book. I loved it. Perfect casting choices.
Bill Murray and Christopher Walken absolutely killed it with "Bear Necessities" and "I Wanna Be Like You." The latter put such a smile on my face  If that was Scarlett Johansson singing "Trust In Me" during the credits I'm kind of disappointed that wasn't in the actual movie because she did it so well. The story of Mowgli's father could've easily been saved for Shere Khan to reveal. Oh well, just a minor gripe.
I'll agree and say I enjoyed this more than the original.

It was absolutely stunning, I don't even like the original. I would easily pay to watch it again in theaters.

In acquisition rumors/news, Disney is interested in acquiring a stake in Major League Baseball Advanced Media(MLBAM), the streaming division of MLB that runs the back end for Disney's WATCH apps, MLB.TV, HBO NOW/GO and others. The league has been trying to spin off the division, given its success beyond streaming baseball games. I know folks like to talk about Disney making more big acquisitions like Netflix, but investing in their infrastructure, especially an area like streaming, is very important if those WATCH apps become the primary way people watch the ESPN suite or the Disney Channel in the future. (It also can have other uses like an American version of DisneyLife)

Good news everyone, now ESPN can be in bed with the NFL and MLB!

Non spoiler discussion. I liked it, I didn't love it. Part of the problem is I think a center speaker was having problems in the theater I went to so much of the audio seemed slightly off to me. I also speculate that I didn't see it in the best 3D format either because it didn't look as visually stunning as I expected.

Very minor spoilers below:
I loved the cowbell nod. Deliberate but not over the top. I thought the kid who played Mowgli was very good, but I would have liked a bit more snark out of him. No surprise really but Baloo/Bill Murray was the strongest part. I don't feel King Louis/Christopher Walken was as good as I wanted him to be.

Never seen such a long list of digital artists for a film before, and each of them did a fantastic job. The movie looks incredible and Bill Murray was inspired casting for Baloo.

The only thing I didn't like is that the two songs seemed half-executed, like someone at the studio told them they had to get them in there and they did the absolute minimum. Might sound sacrilegious, but I'd have preferred it if they left the songs out. Still a fine film.
