Like someone writing off APs and food that they took photos of? Always curious if that would be possible, heck, it's not any worst that Wall Street gets away with.

Definitely legal if they are running a website that is generating income from advertising. It's still a small business.

First, have you seen this? http://www.fool.com/investing/general/2016/03/12/is-disney-world-making-a-5000-seat-mistake.aspx
Any chance to see Dr. Blondie acting like a media pro (and I didn't say it was quality acting) is worth reading Rick's pontifications on DIS.

How long before the show has to be reworked to add foamheads?

I did read it. Focusing on this bit ^^^

Which is it? RoL will be too popular? Or not popular enough?

The article you linked claims it will be a capacity nightmare. So, popular.

Then you claim they will have to rework it, and you imply it'll happen quickly, because it wont be well liked without characters.

Which is it?

also, for those that won't read the whole article, the writer closes by saying Disney will get it right. So, the headline is a little overdone.

Well, @Lee can breathe a sigh of relief as Agents of Marvel BRANDING was renewed. Things don't look so good for the other Marvel commercial on ABC.

It was never really in doubt as to whether Agents of SHIELD was coming back. Shows in their 3rd full season invariably get renewed in order to get to enough episodes to be syndicated.

OTOH, I'd be pretty shocked if Agent Carter gets renewed (though reports are that its still up in the air). It's ratings plummeted this year and weren't that great to begin with.

The bigger question is whether the other Marvel ABC shows in development -- Damage Control and Marvel's Most Wanted -- proceed. I haven't seen confirmation that either of those are definite for next season.

Really? 2018 for DL and 2021 for WDW SWL? :banghead:

I also loved Deadpool and will be seeing Zootopia this week.

There's a lot of us that suggested 2020. Mine was based on the glacial speed at which this company produces capital investments.

They tend to make cuts at the speed of light.

My general criticism (today) is that these DMF-MBA kids don't realize that Disney is so big, they an be a trend setter

It's ridiculous how wide of a gap that is.

That was not what he was saying. He was saying don't expect much more for the 50th (beyond a new parade and night spectacular) than what we know of now. Star Wars will come roughly a year after DL to WDW (not 2-3).

I'd expect Phase 3 and the official completion of the DHS rebranding to more so coincide with the 50th/2021.

You clearly haven't been paying attention to the Disney fan community. The answer is always all of the most pessimistic options, even if they contradict each other they will all surely come to pass. :p

"but that's a park with plenty of table-service restaurants, thrill rides, and nighttime shows to keep guests that don't make it into the one or two nightly performances entertained"

I also had a chuckle with the above sentence... you'd never believe it was being used to describe DHS.

"Damage Control" could be quite successful if they position it correctly. I have no idea what the hell they are thinking with "Most Wanted". Like Ridley Scott's "Prometheus" sequels, they are the shows no one wants to see.

Damage Control is supposed to be a comedy, so I'm curious as effective it will be. At least it would be a change of pace. The one downside to it is that Powerless is set to premiere in the fall and has a similar premise.

Initially, Marvel's Most Wanted sounded dumb to me because I thought it would be the SHIELD agents just going after bad guys. But, apparently, the premise is that Mockingbird and Hunter being the ones who are "Most Wanted" and are on the run. Sounds more interesting to me, but it's tough to see how that will fit into the established MCU TV world.

Alas, I don't fully understand Marvel's TV plans for ABC. They be much better off having actual superhero shows, like a more family friendly version of the Netflix offerings. I'd love to see a Marvel equivalent of The Flash.

Spirited Musings:

So, I haven't checked in here in three weeks. Yep, my enthusiasm for Disney and news are at a low right now.

First, have you seen this? http://www.fool.com/investing/general/2016/03/12/is-disney-world-making-a-5000-seat-mistake.aspx

Guess we can start with a positive. Saw Zootopia. Loved it. Easily the best WDFA production in the 21st century. Yes, much better than Frozen or Princess Tangled or Wreck it Ralph. Great animation. Solid story. Good message that doesn't totally beat you over the head. Oh, and lots of theme park potential.

The thing is the film has Pixar DNA all over it. Sorry to all the fanbois who still think the Disney name means all that much. Of course it really doesn't matter. You'll likely see the two units totally merged as soon as Lasseter and Catmull are gone. It will be something like Walt DIsney/Pixar Feature Animation for a few years ... and then just Disney when management decides to cut duplicate positions and streamline (add in all those strategic planning words).

So, Disney is doing great in O-Town this spring, right? They just dropped the FL resident blockouts on what are traditionally two of the four busiest weeks of the year out of the goodness of their hearts, right?

Shanghai continues to gear up for opening. I wish I could share a story told to me recently ... and I am working on it. But just know Bob Iger is totally in control over there. He'll give those Commies what for! Sure.

I loved Willow Bay's Kylo Ren dress at the Oscars this year.

Has one blogger/podcaster/lifestyler who takes freebies from TWDC come out against the recent O-Town cutbacks or the huge price increases buried in the surge pricing news? Didn't think so.

Well, @Lee can breathe a sigh of relief as Agents of Marvel BRANDING was renewed. Things don't look so good for the other Marvel commercial on ABC.

Speaking of which, you should check out The Family on ABC. It again shows the quality of some of the network's efforts. Quite strong through three episodes. ... Speaking of which, am loving Season 2 of Better Call Saul on AMC. What a wonderfully crafted piece of storytelling by Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould and Co.

Remember that alleged major Frontierland attraction coming to the MK? Yeah, me neither.

The reviews I am hearing for Luigi's Rolickin Roadsters are not very good. Largely a wasted opportunity is what I hear.

Apparently, Disney tried to play the buying a car pricing game with the folks at Meyer Werft and the result is an expansion much later than originally planned. That's OK, though. Not like anyone else has discovered the Asian ...what? Oh, nevermind.

You did hear The Weatherman basically concede reality regarding Disney EVER having the rights to use the Marvel characters east of the Mississippi, right?

Only $96 for a room at the A-S-S? WHAT A BARGAIN!?!?! Or not ...

Disney's accelerated pace for Star Wars Land in Anaheim has less to do with the Mouse and more to do with city officials who have been quite pushy and vocal after giving Disney a 30-year break on taxing admission media. Still, getting the land open by 12/18 will take a herculean effort.

So, UNI-Hollywood will be adding a Walking Dead walk thru attraction this summer. I sincerely hope it is significantly better than any of the Walking Dead houses that Orlando has had for HHNs as they have been routinely the biggest disappointments.

What ...?!??! The IRS is looking into a Lifestyler for tax fraud?!??! HAHHAHA ... no, I never saw that one coming. I doubt the individual(s) in question will either.

Emirates now flies from O-Town to Dubai. Just in case one repressive, overbuilt, overrated town built on a shaky foundation isn't enough for you.

Oh, and UAL moved up the retirement of its 747s, but who tortures themselves by flying them?

So, Paris has a spring event with fresh entertainment, including a new stage show in Frontierland and EPCOT's Spring Food and Wine Fest has ... a few new topiaries ... and a few moved to different locations. Hmm ... yup, blame DLP for O-town's woes.

The best Marvel film of the year will not be this Captain America Civil War (got to hear a kid in a Wendy's explain who was going to be on each side the other day ... very amusing) that everyone in the fan community will be eating up like cupcakes with Dr. Blondie. Nope. It was already released ... by FOX ... Deadpool. You may have heard of it.

Finally, it is VERY possible that WDW's 50th anniversary -- you know they are ignoring the 45th this year, right? -- will be all about DCL expansion and Star Wars Land. And not a whole lot more beyond a new parade and night spectacular/Wishes replacement. VERY possible.

Oh and if you are an Angry Disney Fan in the Twitverse (or elsewhere), you are always welcome to read here.

I do enjoy a 747... A flight attendant myself they are a sturdy piece if machinery - admittedly they feel old now (and I do when I step off of one!) But they are still great! Admittedly I am a huge fan of the 787 - some of them are fitted with some great kit - despite this age we live in of cutbacks...

Which leads me on to say I really hope the new DCL ships are innovative and worth the wait. I can imagine suites featuring heavily - for the folks who love to collect those castaway club lanyards and then wear all of them like some trophy, then spend the week hogging the big sofa's around serenity bay and rock up to dinner in thier finest shorts and Crocs! I can't help but feel the new ships will be filled to the rafters with money making potential... just a bunch given the current antics of Mickey and the gang.

Seeing the work DLP have put into the entertainment side of thier spring event, it's a shame that the flower and garden and food and wine can't utilise some of the dead spaces in epcot for some kind of mini character parade or street show. It would add a little something more to the events other than the entertainment of drunk fools parading around world showcase like they are at some college campus mixer. But I guess that kind of things costs, and EPCOT doesn't have the budget to keep toilets clean, let alone wheel out a few old floats.

How long until we get an x-wing topiary at mission space? There must be a character shoehorn in there somewhere! That side of world showcase is lacking in the dumbing down of EPCOT. Have you stopped but he 'film festival'.. I'm petty sure that kind of thing was taken out of the main street cinema... maybe we can hope that space is turned into a retail spot too... at least that corner would be getting something other than a bland DVC lounge!

Speaking of DVC, I managed to bag a ticket to the private party at MK.... it was nice to see disney still has a team that can create a good fireworks show... If only they were allowed some creative freedom!

Yeah - and were mocked for it Looks like the 5-7 year time horizon is still operative at WDW...

My guess they will have multiple showings and the majority with only dinner package seating.
3 shows per night anyone?

Disneyland can't afford day parades anymore. Soundsational is moving to weekdays only (summer be darned!) and Pixar Play Parade is going down for at least 5 weeks to accommodate revenue-generating food booths for DCA's resurrected Food & Wine Festival. Good thing Fantasmic! isn't running or it would be getting cut back as well.

At least DCA still has their Pixar parade.... would be nice if DHS still had a daytime one.
