@AceAstro just got around to watching the latest Defunctland. My god, what a freaking masterstroke. Easily one of the best produced Youtube videos I've ever seen. It's funny though...this whole historical approach Kevin is taking with season three really makes me think back to our debate and my pitch for a Pacific Ocean Park episode. I sort of predicted that he'd start to go in a more archival route with this stuff.

I thought the same thing! You said Pacific Park would be interesting even with so few pictures and I said I would quit before working on that episode. Luckily, I am safe for season 3... Who knows about season 4 at this point haha

I could still see a PoP episode fitting nicely into this season. Remember, it was the one time in Disneyland's early years that a direct rival company, in this case CBS, made a park that actually out-paced Disney...if only for a short time. The park has a very dramatic and rapid rise and fall. Also the pier itself is a key location in the story of Dogtown and the birth of modern skateboarding, so there's some cool modern history you could go into with the area as well.

I managed to talk my grandma into getting reservations for Hoop Dee Doo at the last stretch before the trip. I feel rather proud of myself for that haha. The only thing I'm still leaning on if I want to do or not is Magic Kingdom After Hours. Other than that, here's the current itinerary as it stands now...

3/1 - Fly in, take boat from CityWalk to Portofino for dinner.
3/2 - Universal/Magic Kingdom After Hours (?)
3/3 - SeaWorld/Fun Spot Orlando
3/4 - Hollywood Studios/Magic Kingdom
3/5 - Fun Spot Kissimmee/Animal Kingdom After Hours
3/6 - Universal/Fun Spot Orlando
3/7 - Discovery Cove/Fun Spot Orlando (?) - we'll see how much I want to push my White Lightning marathons by this point haha
3/8 - Gatorland and Hoop Dee Doo
3/9 - Busch Gardens

Though I do wish that a water ride or even an expansion pad for JW:IN made it into the final design, I am happy that Beijing is making itself stand out; though I wish they had the same for a Minion Mayhem replacement. Granted, the attraction is very popular but I do think a dark similar to Pooh’s Hunny Hunt would be a better alternative to the the MM we got. I also think that they should update the experience, to have guests be able to experience different obstacle courses on the attraction.
Here are some spitball ideas;
  • A rope course that the minions swing across
  • A pool with mechanical sharks or piranhas or eel or any booby trap that the minions would need to avoid
  • A hill where the minions would have to avoid falling obstacles; which most don’t
  • A tunnel where anything could happen and the only source of light is dark light
