Is there a Pixar movie that neither Newman or Giacchino did(not that I don't like them)? I always hear these two winning all the music awards for Pixar.

Thomas Newman did Nemo and Wall-E. Danna is doing Good Dino, I think. Doyle did a mediocre job with Brave.

Confession. I am a HUGE Randy Newman fan. I have his actual LPs (records, for those who are too young to remember vinyl). His songs have always resonated with me, and I love the work he's done for Pixar. I own ALL of his albums. I own his sheet music collections and play his songs on my keyboard.

That said, with a few exceptions, I don't think it is his BEST work.

Why did Brave win the Oscar against Wreck it Ralph? I got bored from watching 5 minutes of it.

Brave was a blackhead...but Cars 2 was a seeping whitehead.

So glad that Pixar took a year off to wash their face.

As a Pixar movie, Cars 2 was bad

But as a spy spoof comedy, I didn't think it was that bad

I like that too when I watch it. I don't find it a big standout though and can't really play the theme in my head (but I'm trying really hard and frustrated that I cant )

That was me with Inside Out for a while. But now that I can remember it, I can't get it out of my head!

Brave is the only Pixar movie that I was not a fan of at all. There were at least moments in Cars 2, none in Brave. I own every Pixar movie on DVD except Brave, I like to imagine that it never happened. But to each their own

There were moments in Brave, but they were forced and predictable. It's like Frozen. Amazing setting, nice animation...decent story...but where Frozen blows Brave out of the water are those ear worm songs. You hear the Frozen Soundtrack and it just sticks in your head until you are shoving cotton balls into your subconscious through your earholes to get it to stop singing them!

There were moments in Brave, but they were forced and predictable. It's like Frozen. Amazing setting, nice animation...decent story...but where Frozen blows Brave out of the water are those ear worm songs. There was also no Olaf style character for comic relief as far as I am concerned. The kids/Cubs didn't cut it for me.
