The Rainless, Sweat Filled and Toupee-ful June Trip of MillerPoppins

Ok kids...I debated writing this trip report only because it is so short and kinda had a personal issue thrown in the middle of a day. But I can't let my crew here down! Because I've got more crazy stories, more food photos and lots of stupid humor to provide you with! And for those of you who do follow along with my antics, you are brave souls. This trip was a short one, and as mentioned, does have a couple hours missing of stuff, but nevertheless has more crazy stuff from yours truly. And without further ranting, let's re-introduce our cast of characters!

Well...there's me. Foodie, Work in Food & Beverage, love ALL things Disney, Star Wars nut, Boo obsessed and giant sized kid.

Tim, my BF and love of my life, is not joining us for this trip either sadly. Duty calls at the job front and could not make it.

So, once again my partner in crime for most of the trip will be.....Jennie!!!!

100_6442.jpg

Jennie, another lover of all things Disney, has been living down here for 10 years and working for Disney during that entire time. She is the BIGGEST Star Wars fan you will ever meet and my awesome friend for 15 years now.

Also joining us on this trip, our buddy Keith.

Keith has been a great friend of Jennie's for 10 years now and is also a huge Disney fan. Giant goofball, just like Jennie and I, and fits in perfectly with our stupidness.

So here we go...another entry into MillerPoppins' Adventures in WDW sans rain this time!

Day 1-Monday

As usual, I had booked the earliest flight hoping to make the most of my short trip. Also, it was the cheapest of the day, which is definitely a perk. The wake up call came at 3:30am and I was out the door shortly after, with Tim dragging behind me. Although I always offer to drive myself to the airport, he always insists that he will take me...no matter what time he has to get up. What a sweetie! :) So off we went and in minutes, we were there. I'm lucky enough to have a major airport about 15 minutes away from me. After some kisses and hugs, I was off! In through security I breezed and up to grab some breakfast and a coffee.

Last time I was at this airport, it was a ghost town for the first flight. Today, a COMPLETELY different story. Packed! Everyone was heading for a vacation since school had just gotten out. I knew this was going to be a very full flight. Sure enough, just as I had sat down to get something to eat, they starting calling for "volunteers" to give up their seats and fly down on Thursday instead. THURSDAY??! Are you out of your mind?! I was out on this offer as it was due to the fact that I had an appointment down there and plus, had already been put through the ringer by Spirit before on free flights. No way was I giving up my seat.

So minutes later, we were loading. I got a middle seat, which I wasn't overly thrilled with but made do. How bad can it be right? I'm going to Disney for the third time in less then a year...stop complaining and go! Two and a half drama free hours later, we had arrived! I high tailed it off the plane and over to the main building only to be greeted with this...

YESSSSSS!!!! I had told Jennie on the phone that I didn't care what else we did while I was there but we are getting on Star Tours!!! I had been dying to see the new revamp and experience it. This was just adding to my excitement. Jennie soon picked me up and off we went to her pad. It was not long after that when we made our way to Hollywood Studios!

Off we went!

100_6937.jpg

Ahhh WDW...I have missed you...

100_6938.jpg

We arrived, parked and decided to walk to the front gate. Yet again, Jennie and I were both working on very little sleep but decided to stretch our legs a bit and walk. As we arrived at the gate, we had some friendly banter with the bag check guard and made our way towards the entrance. It was then I realized I had forgotten my ticket in the car! And so back we went...hopped a tram and ran back to the car. Not one of my finest moments but hey, what could you do? Moments later we were back at the gate and raring to go!

100_6939.jpg

We tried for a shot of both of us plus the Star Tours sign...

Those of you who read the last Trip Report know that we aren't always pros at this...

There we go! And in we went!

Both of us were starving! I was hungry for something savory, but Jennie suggested Starring Rolls and I couldn't refuse. We both knew what was going to happen going there. We would get something super sweet, love eating it, then regret it about an hour later. But some sacrifices must be made...hehehe!

Let the Food Commence!!!

Mmmmmmm!

While I should have gone with their newest offering of sushi, I went with what I had been dying to try for so long. I knew I would always find an excuse to have something else. So there was no better time then the present..Red Velvet Cupcake, you are mine!

100_6948-1.jpg

It's everything it looks like and more! While I thought initially that I wouldn't be able to eat the whole thing myself, I totally did. It was AMAZING! I prefer this to the Butterfinger Cupcake hands down. So rich and creamy. The cheesecake in the center is to die for. Yummmmooo!!

Jennie went with the Napoleon, which she also loved.

Both of us polished off our treats and our iced coffees and decided to head over to Pixar Place to see if it was even worth a shot for TSMM FP's.

For Tim...

For my Niece...

100_6951.jpg

The park didn't seem too overly crowded, which was a pleasant surprise. However, the normal 70 minute wait for TSMM was looming in the Standby line. FP's were actually still there but had a return time of 7:20-8:20p. Sadly, Jennie had to work that night and I hadn't decided where I was going to be going. So we passed and opted to make our way around to Star Tours. See you next time TSMM...

100_6952.jpg

We strolled around the back way to work off our sweets and made our way past Backlot.

100_6953.jpg

Riddle me this Batman...why is the Backlot Express restaurant over by Indiana Jones and the Studio Catering Company is over by Backlot??? Wouldn't one think that the Backlot stuff should be grouped together to avoid confusion? Apparently not.

Oh yay! I'm sooo in!

Can I just say that when I was drooling over the Starring Rolls offerings I was thinking, "ooooh...red velvet cheesecake....that would be my choice!" then when it was your choice I really got excited!!! I was thinking perhaps it would be like so many other things at WDW where it looks & sounds fabulous but then isn't. So glad it was!!! Maybe I'll go get me one next trip!

Yay, I love your TRs, and reading about your trip will help me pass the remaining 19 days until my trip!

I can't wait to go back to Starring Rolls. It used to be a must-do for my family, but I haven't been back since they re-did the layout (which was, what, 5 years ago - at least? Sad, I know ).
