Trip Report THE ONE WITH A FEW MAGICIANS IN AUGUST 🤡COMPLETE🤡

Hello again.
I have another trip booked in less than three weeks so I need to power through this. So let’s go.....

In my last TR you all convinced me to take a side trip to WDW after dropping my son off at school. I was on the fence until one poster (I am too lazy to look it up) said they would never pass up an opportunity to visit WDW. I agree.

Not too long after that we had a big family get together and I asked if anyone wanted to drive down to Florida with X and I then go to WDW with me for a couple days. My 16YO nephew said yes but he is kind of a nervous type so I did not take him seriously. A few days later his mother, my SIL said, “you know J was serious right?”

I went on DVC and booked a room immediately. I could not believe my luck when I got a 1BR at Boardwalk. I have been trying for 12 years to stay there. Yay!!!

THEN my SIL, also being the nervous type, said she would go too. WHAT???
She was just there at Christmas and she is going with me in September for food and wine. This is way out of character for her.

THEN my youngest, Dre, decides he wants to go. Wait. We are not all going to fit in X’s
truck.

SIL suggests she fly down with the boys and meet me at Disney. That is what we did. Let me tell you about it......

As for Shirley Status, you can thank @fractal for coming up with that term. On another trip I walked the red carpet at the entrance to DHS. @fractal likened me to celebrity Shirley MacClaine. The joke stuck and the rest is history!

I don't know man... she's embarrassing!! This morning she told me "mommy, I'm not going to talk to Cinderella about her bewbs again" and my first though was oh god, what IS she going to talk to her about then.....

I usually get the pineapple/vanilla swirl although the one that you got looks sooo good too! Love me some Tiki Birds and the thunderstorm scene is actually one of my favorites of the whole show!

Saturday 8/24 cont

After the tiki birds I had a FP for Big Thunder. However, my phone was dying quickly and NunuBelle and I were still in contact about later that night. I only took the one photo because, like I said, phone was dying.

I had to put it in black and white to spare you all from the shine fest that was my forehead. I look so serious or scared or something

I dont know what it is about Disney World, especially MK that sucks my phone of all its life so quickly. Same with LA. When I go home my phone just dies. My boys tell me to turn off the wifi. “Ummm, ok, so you dont want anymore fast passes then?”

Anyhow, I always carry a portable charger when in Disney. This time I brought two because one was new and I was not sure how powerful it was. The other one is really powerful but big and heavy. You know what I did not bring to the park with me? A cord to go from my phone to the portable charger. I had the cord for the charger to the wall with me but I left the other one in my room

The most expensive phone cord ever was then purchased at merchant of venus. I wish it had a Mickey or something on it at least.

You will almost never hear me complain that it is hot but....I was looking to go on CoP. I thought I could relax, let my phone charge and then see what Nunu Belle had to say. But CoP was down. Good news was my phone was coming back to life!

I decided to go on people mover as I had a few minutes before my Space Mountain FP.

Finally NunuBelle and I were back in contact. I had suggested HEA from TotWL but she countered with earlier because she was tired. With my phone issues it was already the time she wanted to meet. I told her I was getting on Space Mountain right then and we could do it another day if she wanted. She wrote back that she would wait for me!

I happily rode SM.

I took this on my way out of SM because....why? Time stamp? Prove I was there? Jog my memory when writing a TR? Because fractal loves abstract photos?

BTW, time stamp was 7:33.

There is a grocery store somewhat near me that sells pineapple and rasperry Dole Whip. I get one on the way in and one on the way out. We bought a couple quarts once but it is not the same. It losses it’s airy, creamy consistency and becomes hard and icy.

I really only need glasses to read. I wear progressives so I dont have to take them on and off all day. They also tint in the sun so I dont have to switch from my sunglasses to my regular glasses all day.

They aren't wrong... I changed my plan to unlimited data for this trip so I didn't have to worry about my phone constantly searching for wifi. You can always turn it off while your riding rides, and turn it back on when your searching for FP.

And the licking. Did you see the licking???

I wear my glasses on top of my head most of the time because I only need them to see far..like when driving or looking ahead while walking. The doc said... well you could have progressives, but then you would be paying for no prescription in the reading portion, and that's just dumb. Thanks doc!
