Trip Report THE ONE WITH A FEW MAGICIANS IN AUGUST 🤡COMPLETE🤡

Hello again.
I have another trip booked in less than three weeks so I need to power through this. So let’s go.....

In my last TR you all convinced me to take a side trip to WDW after dropping my son off at school. I was on the fence until one poster (I am too lazy to look it up) said they would never pass up an opportunity to visit WDW. I agree.

Not too long after that we had a big family get together and I asked if anyone wanted to drive down to Florida with X and I then go to WDW with me for a couple days. My 16YO nephew said yes but he is kind of a nervous type so I did not take him seriously. A few days later his mother, my SIL said, “you know J was serious right?”

I went on DVC and booked a room immediately. I could not believe my luck when I got a 1BR at Boardwalk. I have been trying for 12 years to stay there. Yay!!!

THEN my SIL, also being the nervous type, said she would go too. WHAT???
She was just there at Christmas and she is going with me in September for food and wine. This is way out of character for her.

THEN my youngest, Dre, decides he wants to go. Wait. We are not all going to fit in X’s
truck.

SIL suggests she fly down with the boys and meet me at Disney. That is what we did. Let me tell you about it......

Sunday 8/25

I woke up at 8:00! That never happens. I had to return the rental to the car care center by 10:30 so I was good, but not great on time.

I showered and packed up. I ate a yogurt and banana and took my stuff to the car. Then my phone rings. It was my middle son (15). I had been calling home but he was too tired or hungry or cranky or....to really talk to me. But suddenly he wanted to tell me everything.

I loaded the trunk, rearranging items to make the luggage more efficient since I would be dropping it at bell services at the Boardwalk before I returned the car. My son kept talking. I sat on the tailgate and watched a Disney bus drive around the parking lot. The bus stop was close, I could see it but he was off the normal route and actually driving up and down the rows of the parking lot. The sign on his bus said “Jasmine”. I told my son, “looks like Jasmine might get fired.”

I wrapped it up with my son and headed toward the Boardwalk. No police behind me this time.

This was my first time staying here. My cousin (from my March bday report) has Boardwalk as one of her two home resorts and is always saying how much she loves it but I never had any interest to stay. Especially with the Beach club across the lake. I love the Beach club!!!

I dropped my things with Albert at bell services and went inside just to tell them I was here.
Holy cow people! I loved the smell in the lobby! The CM’s were amazing so far. I think I was going to be happy here.
I was told my room was almost ready. They took my cell number so they could text me when it was ready. I always do the pre checkin and give my cell# but what the heck. If they want it again they can have it.
Then back outside to drive to the car care center. Even the CCC is beautiful. Look at all those gorgeous palm trees!!!

And extra ME busses.

For those if you not familiar with the CCC it is on the outskirts of the MK parking lot. In fact, following waze sent me to the pay booths for MK. I kept all the way left and told the CM collecting the parking fee that I was trying to find the CCC (last time I did not come this way, I must have come from the opposite direction). He said I was in the right place. Waved me through and told me to keep left.

The CCC has an Alamo and a National car rental. And they have courtesy vans to take you anywhere you want to go on property.
Epcot please!
I wanted to be close to Boardwalk when I got that room ready text.
There was a nice man from the UK on the bus and a woman who I think was his daughter. I am not sure as she had her headphones in and never looked up from her phone. She was also wearing long black leggings and a big heavy black hoody. Ummmm, did you not get the memo that it is hot in Florida??? The bus driver and the man and I had a nice chat while driving to Epcot.

The UK doesnt have AC??? This is what they said. The man said he put it in his house but in general they dont have it. Is this true???

Yep this is true!
AC in cars and many public buildings, particularly newer ones, but in very very few homes! In fairness we probably would only need it for a few weeks every year

From the description of the girl on the shuttle with you it could have been my daughter . Except this school year she is branching out from black sneakers, black or blue jeans and black hoodie. This year she wanted an orange hoodie and white sneakers with orange accents. I was so happy color has made a comeback

Soarin was listed at 20 on MDE but by the time I got there it was 45 min. No thanks.

I wonder how many kids ask what these are.

Back row all to myself. There was a family of three in the front, smaller row. I offered to switch with them so they could have more room. They looked at me like I asked for their wallets.

We all have our Disney traditions. One of mine is a beer in Canada. I know it was only 11:00 but you can not mess with tradition. Problem was the beer taps were still covered. Rats. But, as I moved in to take the picture of the mama bear shirt I spied a barrell full of beer in ice!! I asked the CM if she would judge me. She said not at all because I am on vacation.

I sent this picture to X because he has a few Canadian team mates and they love their Canadian beer.


I asked some people just entering the IG if they would take this next pix so I could send to my husband as proof of life.

They also agreed I was on vacation and was allowed to drink before 12:00.

I was heading out but decided to check out the store.

I love sparkle. I noticed a lot of sparkly tshirts this trip. Mostly on boys and men. Is this the new thing?

The walk to Boardwalk is short but a boat was pulling in so I thought why not? Why not? Because it was a training boat.

I arrived at the Boardwalk, entered the lobby and inhaled deeply. As I exhaled I felt my shoulders lower a little and my mind get really calm. The scent. Wow!
People, I have a new favorite resort and her name is Disney Boardwalk Villas.
I stopped by the bell stand and asked to have my luggage sent up.

Mickey’s ear was a little droopy. But this water was so delicious!!!

Look a real phone.

When I got off the elevator on the fifth floor this was the view. Not too shabby!

My room is around the corner.

I had a garden view. I asked for a high floor near an elevator. We were on the top floor. Not really, ok, not at all close to the elevator. And about that view....hold that thought.

The TV was on which weirded me out at first but was strangely comforting.

The kitchen. It’s funny, the trash used to be kept under the sink. Back in the old days when the guest had to empty their own. But now that they remove it during security checks I notice how nice and accessible it is.

It folds out into a queen sleeper! A queen!!!

Now, about that view....remember, I had reserved a garden view...

Ummmm....do they have me confused with someone else????

The Bellman showed up with my luggage.
I put the groceries in the fridge. It did not seem very cold to me. I turned it up and decided to wash and cut the fruit and eat some lunch then recheck the fridge.
I had purchased a salad at publix the previous day.

I had also purchased some disposable containers so I cut up the watermelon and strawberries and washed the blueberries and put them in the containers then placed them in the still not very cold fridge.

I had passed the room with ice and vending on my way in so I went to get ice. I wanted to ice down some drinks (cough cough) for when the others arrived tonight.

I left my phone on the counter charging. I was only gone about 3 1/2 minutes. When I got back, the first thing I did was look at my phone. Notification from 3 minutes ago. Oga’s cantina reservation available. (For sept trip)
NO BLANKIN WAY!!!!

I tried. I was so discombobulated. I got to the page but didnt notice I only had the request for two people. Instead of taking the reservation and then trying to modify it I back peddled to change it to 4 people. And it was gone. I was too late.

I could not believe it.

But onward.
I was heading to Hollywood Studios. So appropriate.

Our room was near the end of the corridor. Like I said, farish from the elevator but just a few doors from the stairwell to the pool and just a few doors from the stairwell that leads out to the path that runs along the waterway between Epcot and HW.

I took pix so I could find my way back. But not until I got to the third floor.

Ok. But these all look the same.

That’s better. Just past the pool and the white fence.

And about those (cough cough) beverages. I removed one of the bottom crisper drawers from the refrigerator, filled it with drinks and then topped it with the cursed ice.

Only on page 4, so I'm catching up but wanted to say I call us Magic'ers. LOL. Never thought to call us Magicians (and count me in the club that didn't get it at first )

A disappointed but hopeful Darstarr walked to HW.

This is East Buena Vista Drive that goes over the walkway and waterway. I think it is cool how the weeds found a home in the concrete. Our planet is pretty cool.
