Trip Report THE ONE WITH A FEW MAGICIANS IN AUGUST 🤡COMPLETE🤡

Hello again.
I have another trip booked in less than three weeks so I need to power through this. So let’s go.....

In my last TR you all convinced me to take a side trip to WDW after dropping my son off at school. I was on the fence until one poster (I am too lazy to look it up) said they would never pass up an opportunity to visit WDW. I agree.

Not too long after that we had a big family get together and I asked if anyone wanted to drive down to Florida with X and I then go to WDW with me for a couple days. My 16YO nephew said yes but he is kind of a nervous type so I did not take him seriously. A few days later his mother, my SIL said, “you know J was serious right?”

I went on DVC and booked a room immediately. I could not believe my luck when I got a 1BR at Boardwalk. I have been trying for 12 years to stay there. Yay!!!

THEN my SIL, also being the nervous type, said she would go too. WHAT???
She was just there at Christmas and she is going with me in September for food and wine. This is way out of character for her.

THEN my youngest, Dre, decides he wants to go. Wait. We are not all going to fit in X’s
truck.

SIL suggests she fly down with the boys and meet me at Disney. That is what we did. Let me tell you about it......

How, no what, is that barrier made of that it can hold back all that water? And why dont they put those up all around Florida when a hurricane comes through?
I can’t tell exactly what Disney is using, but TXDoT used aqua dams in Houston after Harvey to keep water off of I-10!

in all my visits, I don't think I've ever had a chicken nugget at WDW.

wait! I think I've had a couple of boneless wings, maybe?! are they the same? are they actually any good?
Are they any good?
Are they any good??
Yes! They are amazing.
As a boneless wing(new marketing name so they can charge more)/nugget go, they set the standard.

I am also a member of team chicken nugget 👍
"Pixie dust" 😉
When in Disney, one must do chicken nuggets as they make them no one can.😁 That was so nice of you to offer up your table to that family. I always find a way to talk with strangers at WDW which can drive my kids crazy. 🤣
I guess I'll have to find some chicken nuggets on this upcoming trip. Don't want to miss out on the gold standard!!
I always thought people were nuts for eating chicken nuggets at Disney. I mean yuk but I had to give it a try and my last visit with C I tried some at Pinocho house, haus, restaurant and I agree they are delicious. I will be getting them for lunch on our next trip.

I just want to clarify. It is not that I think Disney’s chicken nuggets are the best food on property. I think they are simply the best Chicken Nugget. (I even capatilized them!)

What makes them so good?
-Perfect breading to chicken ratio
-seasoned perfectly
-crispy and crunchy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside.
-the nooks and crannies are a perfect receptacle for your choice of sauce, but no sauce is needed

I appreciate that Disney has worked so hard to make the best product they can, even if it is a lowly chicken nugget.

That's got to be the best ever written analysis of chicken nuggetts on Earth!
I'm sold! Get me some Disney Chicken Nuggets, now! 😋

Saturday 8/24 cont

After Peter Pan I really wanted a Dole Whip but I just ate and to make a special trip over to adventureland seemed indulgent. But, if I were heading over to go on PotC, not indulgent at all. In fact, that is a perfectly normal thing to do. So off to Pirates I went.

#shirleystatus in the backrow!
True story; for awhile I thought true value..er...tuvalu’s real name was Shirley. Silly me. But, she kind of looks like a Shirley.

Then I got what I came for. They can take the hei hei off the menu but they can’t take the hei hei off the girl? No...they can’t take the hei hei away from the girl?? No...anyhow, I got the swirl. Hei hei no eyes.

Then the Tiki room because when you whip you must also tiki.
There was a thread recently about what attractions scared us a kids. I did not partake in the discussion but it got me thinking. This one! If you recall, I grew up in southern California going to Disneyland. Well, it doesn’t rain in Southern California so the thunder storm would scare the bajeebers out of me every time. That and the chanting tiki’s. I may have put my fingers in one of their mouths when I wasnt being properly supervised. It took my mind of the thunder storm!!

I do not think this pre show was running when I was here last so I really enjoyed it. I am happy to report that the thunderstorm portion of the show had little to no effect on me⛈💦☔
