Ahh , as my husband wil probably read the thread title and KNOW what i'm gonna write. About ten yrs ago my mother in law decided to invite herself and my nephew who was 8 at the time to Disney ( mind you this was a trip our good friend was coming and it was just gonna be her and our family of 3 at the time, planned it for a while)...Yeah not one trip I can say was great... Especailly having a blow out with my mother in law right at the entrance to the Magic Kingdom, she thought it was up to the hubby and I to play the tour guide and entertainment comittee for my nephew( that was not in our plans, we had a 3yr to tend to and enjoy Disney with)...Yeah I could only stand so much and well I blew up at her..Needless to say she had never invited herself again to Disney with us, and I do have a great relationship with her , just that trip, threw me right over the edge!!!! Although do have to say She did bring that "fun time" up last year.....Yeah I like to block it!! Not so Magical!!! But every time I walk in to the MK makes me think of that !

About twenty five years ago we were at the MK and they had just pulled out the snack carts full of tasty treats packed in dry ice. I got a fruit bar and was warned by the CM to let it "warm up" a bit, but I paid no attention and popped that sucker in my mouth where it quickly froze to my lips. I tried to push it out with my tongue and froze my tongue to it. I was mumbling trying to get my parents attention, when they realized what was going on, they were laughing so hard they were not helping. I finally found a water fountain and melted the demonic thing. I had blistered lips and tongue the rest of the trip. MISERABLE.

You know what, I don't think there is one at all.

I guess if I had to pick something I would go back to 1995 at Epcot. My mom, dad, sister and I were there. I think my dad saw the beauty of the place and he probably figured out early on that a 16 and 14 year old weren't able to see that beauty yet. So maybe a couple of teenagers would hold him back right?..............:lookaroun

Well, we all had to use a restroom and the agreement was that we would meet back out on the bench. My mom showed up, my sister did and so did I. As usual we waited for my dad, no biggie. But a few minutes go by and we start to wonder. I look for him in the bathroom and he's nowhere to be found.

My mom just shakes her head and the three of us go about our day figuring we'd meet him late at night at Illuminations. This is where we met him. When we meet up with him he's all shifty-eyed and astonished that we "bailed" on him. When we asked him if he intentionally ditched us he never had an answer. 16 years later we still joke about him with that and he's never confirmed or denied that he "misplaced" his family.

Anyway, it was all fine and even that day we all had a little laugh about it but we still kid my dad about it to this day. By the way, he never did this before or since so he's far from a neglected father and all, but I guess there was things at Epcot he wanted to explore while we didn't.

A couple of years ago, after a long Disney park day ( I can't remeber which one) we boarded the bus back to our resort. We were lucky to get a seat, I had an aisle seat and the aisle was full of standing passengers.

Before I knew it I must have dozed off. I came to with the awful realisation that I was leaning my head on something. I warily looked up to see a very frosty looking lady gazing down at me, as I removed my head from her skirt covered thigh  My lovely daughter and dear friends, instead of waking me all had hysterical tears running down their faces and have been dining out on the tale ever since!

On my most recent trip this past June, my brother and I decided to try and do "Drinking Around the World" in World Showcase. Big mistake! It started out great, as do all pub crawls. But ended with me :hurl: all over the bathroom in our suite at Boardwalk. Not a pretty sight.

The one and only time I rode Alien Encounter. I must have been in middle school at the time, but the thing still scared the bloody heck out of me. I have never tried to claw myself out of a seat restraint so hard in my entire life.

Same here! Only it wasn't me who was scared, it was my oldest daughter. I fell a few days before we left on vacation and grossly dislocated two finger on my right hand. I had them reduced, put back in place, but my hand was still very swollen and painful the next month. My daughter, who was about 12 at the time was sitting next to me and she squeezed my hand so tight that I was crying in pain. She was so scared she couldn't help herself, she felt bad but I had to make like it was nothing, I knew she didn't know what else to do. The worst part was we had been seperated while seating for this attraction and our 9 year old daughter was sittting by herself, rows away from us and I was so worried about her the whole time! I hated that attraction, bad, bad attraction!

Our son was around 1 year old and we were at MK on our first day of the trip. We started early and were wrapping up the day taking in Spectro and wishes. Luckily, (or so I thought) he had fallen asleep just before the start of Spectro. He stays asleep thru the parade and wakes up just before wishes starts. He begins screaming. Unfortunately, we were at the side of the castle when this happened. Looking toward the entrance, there was no hope of getting out with the fireworks starting and the mass of humanity between us. We did try to squeeze our way through with me carrying him and my daughter pushing our tired 5 yo in the stroller trying to navigate thru while he was screaming bloody murder the whole time. So we finally get out of the park, just as it was ending...him still screaming. Get to the Monorail and there's already a long line. It was a good 30 minutes in line for that and him screaming the whole time. On to the monorail and into the car for the drive back...still screaming thru both. Finally back in the room and he was hysterical until about 1:30am when he finally passed out. It took us a couple of days for all of us to recover from that mess.

We're still not sure what triggered him to go off like that, but it is something that I wish wouldn't have happened.

Unacceptable.. I only wish I was there when this had happened. These people are the scum of the earth sometimes.

I know it was a terrible thing to happen, but isn't your comment a little harsh? Calling them SCUM OF THE EARTH is not good, it makes you look just the same with name calling!

But with that said, Welcome to the Boards! Trust me, that I am being very leanient with my post. Some really go off!

This is a bit long winded - but I would like to forget our whole last trip!

Our trip earlier this year was the worst one ever, unfortunately. It started off with my brother calling us the first day saying that my dog wanted to eat him lol. He was housesitting with our two dogs. My dog, Blitzen, is afraid of people but was doing okay with my brother. Until my brother scolded him for eating our other dog's food and then proceeded to chase Blitzen into a room with a baby gate (why, why, why - I'm still asking myself that). After that Blitzen went crazy barking at him. I was upset because I know how Blitzen is, he's scared, but never hurt anyone. So I called my Mom and she took Blitzen to her house.

The next day I get bombarded with phone calls and texts from my cousin who decided that weekend she wanted to pick out the bridesmaids dresses for her wedding. So I spent my day looking at dresses and telling her which one I wanted. Frankly, she was a bridezilla. Not exactly a great way to spend a day at Epcot.

The following day, Monday, we were heading into Mickey's Philharmagic and I had a crossbody bag on. When we went through the turnstiles in to get our glasses, I went forward and my bag caught on the turnstile. I went right into the wall. What a mess I was. I landed on my knee which I used to have to go to physical therapy for from horseback riding. It hurt so bad I thought I might throw up. I held it together and enjoyed the show but iced up when we got back to the room.

Tuesday we got a phone call that our ceiling in our living room was leaking water from all of the snow we were getting. Okay, not much we could do. So my brother and the maintenance guy here at the townhouse developement set up a pump on the balcony to drain all of the water off of the balcony so it wouldn't keep piling up and freezing the drains and cause a mess.... We knew we'd have to deal with it, but we're going to make the most of the trip and deal with it when we got home. After all, they told us it as under control.

...too late. Wednesday we're at AK, having a great day. Had a delicious lunch at Tusker House and then walked on to KS. Just about the time we got to the wildebeest we got a phone call from the maintenance guy saying the fire alarm was going off. Not the smoke alarm, but the fire alarm wired into each unit. My brother works about an hour away and had our key. The fire department had to break in. At this point I'm scared because my other dog (who didn't try to eat my brother) is still in the house (she was sleeping on our bed through the whole ordeal). With butterflies in my stomach and my nerves shot, I decided we would go watch FoLK. Just as we're walking to the theater, the call came in. I heard DH say "So you're in. Okay. And you're saying my ceiling is now on my floor?". That was it. I lost it. I broke down in the middle of the park and cried. I called my Mom and cried more. We knew we had to leave. We were told it looked like "20 garden hoses pouring into the living room". On our brand new furniture in a house we had just bought a month and half before. Our first house. We rushed to the front of the park, hopped a tram to our car and went back to the hotel. There was a blizzard happening here in New England so all flights were canceled. We called rental car places and finally found a reasonable one at a good rate. We returned our rental to Alamo and waited for Avis to come pick us up. I literally grabbed everything in armloads, shoving it into the suitcase. I had a Disney gift card with about $75 on it. I loaded us up on snacks, drinks, a blanket and some last minute gift shopping while waiting for the rental car to come get us. Then we realized we had no directions home. Thankfully we both had smart phones with GPS. So we would use that. But wait - how would they stay charged? So we stopped and grabbed a few car chargers. DH's phone was the designated insurance and emergency clean up crew phone and mine was used for navigation.

We finally were on our way at about 7:30pm. 22 hours of driving + 6 hours of sleep in between we made it home the next day. It killed me we still had 4 hours of our trip left. It also was making my heart sink leaving Orlando and seeing the temperature reading at 78 and having it say 12 when we pulled into my Mom's driveway. But that is an entire WDW trip I would like to forget. Actually, I don't remember much of it at all. I felt so disconnected from WDW that trip between phone calls and bridesmaid dresses and house problems. I'm thoroughly looking forward to our re-do next month!

On day 6 of an 8 day trip in 2004, I got food poisoning from the Cantina in Mexico. I spent the last two days of the trip in the bathroom. I felt like I was going to die, and wouldn't have minded if I had because I was so miserable. I have never been so sick in my life. We have an 11 hour drive home, and I still felt completely miserable. I don't know how many times we had to stop the car on the way home.

Another moment I would like to forget was in 2009 when my DD had a potty accident while sitting on my lap in Carousel of Progress. She had just gone to the bathroom so I didn't think anything about taking her on the ride. About two minutes in she started saying she had to go to the bathroom. I tried to get off, but the CM started saying that everyone needed to remain seated. DD who was hysterical at this point peed on me while I was trying to calm her down. Of course, I had forgot to bring a change of clothes for her that day although I had remembered clean underwear. I explained to the CM about the accident so the seats and floor could get cleaned. She insisted on giving me a voucher so DD could get some new clothes which was nice. We ran to the hotel to shower and came back an hour or two later and all was well.

Not old, just vintage.
Add another one for the Cantina in Mexico destroying the end of an otherwise good trip to WDW. The evening before our last day a few years ago we had dinner at the Cantina. Several hours later I was so sick. I spent the remainder of the trip dying the hotel room. Somehow I managed to actually fly home the next day. I really have no idea how I survived that and I feel really bad for anyone else who was on that flight. By the time we landed I was so weak and dehydrated my mom took me right to the hospital rather than going home. Several days later I got to go home but not without some significant damage to my kidneys. Not exactly the kind of memories one wants to bring home from a Disney trip.

My mom told Disney about what had happened and they were apologetic, comped our last night, and called several days after we were home to follow up. The follow up call was a surprise to us. I guess maybe they had some other reports of people getting sick that night and were trying to do damage control.

Last year in October during the MNSSHP, I lost my wife! It was not on purpose either. :D I stooped down to tie my shoe, and popped back up and she was gone. She should have been easily found as she was dressed like a jail bird in a white and black striped convict costume. She had both cell phones, and all my meds. I felt very helpless at this time. I also started to have a anxiety attack. A very nice CM helped me to first aid, and let me call the cell phones (both were off I found out later), no answer. After calming down a bit I walked back down to where I had lost her and just stood around wishing, and hoping to spot here. After a few minutes here she comes with her trick or treat bag full of candy just munching away. Not even fazed at all. Just a big smiley face:) eating goodies. She did'nt even know I was gone:eek:.. I was so glad to see her, candy and all. It's scary when you loose someone in the MK!

Two years ago, on the afternoon of my first day at Disney, I got a really sore throat. I first blamed the half a bag of cinnamon sugar roasted almonds that I had eaten for irritating my throat. Well the weather was cold too, and I hadn't dressed warmly enough. By that night my sore throat was worse and I had the general achiness you get when you are getting a cold. I didn't sleep well that night, and probably had a fever but went the next morning to the Magic Kingdom with my friends. I managed to get around alright but was so glad that we got seats by the bakery to watch the fireworks. I ended up dozing on the table because I was so exhausted by then and probably running a fever. My own fault for not staying at the hotel and rest. After a decent nights sleep, I woke up the next morning feeling much better. The throat was still scratchy but overall I felt better. Then I started to talk, and I had laryngitis. I was embarrased when I tried to talk and sounded like Minnie Mouse. Yep, it was like that the rest of the whole trip.

When we made our first trip in 2008 (I'm 25 now, was 22 then...so sad that the first trip was so late in life, I digress) I was walking down Main Street in MK and this lady was driving her motorized wheelchair/cart thing and talking on her phone. Needless to say she wasn't paying attention and ran right into me. The edge of her chair/cart thing sliced the back of my leg right above the Achilles Tendon and it started to gush, I also fell forward onto my bad knee and knocked it out (it dislocates frequently due to a bone issue) so I spent the rest of the day on crutches with a bandaged leg.

It was an amazing trip, except for the scar I still have from that lady who, never apologized even when the CM and my dad were giving her dirty looks.

She should get her ECV key taken away from her. Then she can either get up and walk around, or sit there and do no more harm.
