The next big thing........Another live trip report!

In honor of @disneysince71, I'd like to post as we go. It was so much fun reading along, I figured, "why not?" I tried this in February, but it only lasted half the trip. I picked up a stomach bug midway and ended up tossing the phone in the sink in the wee hours of the morning ending any updates. Hope to avoid that this time! iphones can be expensive! Anyway, I can't promise to be as active as she was, but I'll try to keep it current and not aggravate my wonderful family as we enjoy Disneyworld!
On a side note, our flight has already been delayed until 6:50 PM. We were hoping to check in at the Yacht Club then head to MK for EMH. Don't think that will happen now, but we shall see what we shall see.
The trip is from Today, June 30 through July 14. The first week will be spent at the YC. Our second week at AKL. My wife and I will be traveling with our son, 10, and daughter, 8. Very excited, but now bummed with this delay! :(

Thats when the pictures from the parade stopped. Brayden was watching the parade on the sidewalk and stood up and hit his head on a green mailbox. Then the blood flowed! Luckily, we had some tissues in our backpack and we got it to stop quickly. I took him to sit down and get a drink and we were approached by two CMs and escorted to First Aid. The place is like an ER!!! Hope this is our only visit there. Brayden got some TLC from a wonderful nurse who told him not to worry. She said I have a grandson your age and Ill just be your grandma right now.

We visited First Aid in AK last trip and I was amazed at how well equipped they were for emergencies. Thankfully, our issues were quite minor, but they too were super sweet and helpful. Glad Brayden didn't need stitches. :)

One man's dream then off to TSMM

One Man's Dream is one of my all-time faves! :)
A kinda' funny story about it...
Oldest DD and BF (now fiance', as he proposed to her in front of Cinderella Castle on her 21st b-day on our trip last July - 2012) went through OMD while we were off riding ToT at one point on that trip. After they went through the whole thing, saw the short movie, and were exiting, her DF told her... "I now really get your dad and the whole Disney thing."
Pretty cool! :)
He's not quite on the same level as we are yet, but he certainly does "get it" now...! ;) :)

Walt reminds me so much of my deceased grandfather. The mannerisms, the suit, it's eerie sometimes when I watch the movie.

Decided to take a cab back. Kids are in bed and its not even 8:30!!!! Breakfast at Tusker House at 8:10 tomorrow and O'Hana at 7:50 on Wednesday, so two straight early mornings. Only slept in once on the trip. We need this early night (I actually nodded off in One Man's Dream today. My wife said I was snoring . so embarrassed).

You nodded off in One Man's Dream?!?! Good God man!!!??? What the HECK is wrong with you...?!?!?! o_O
JK, LOL, and all that jazz...! ;)
We go for a week, so we Park Commando the heck outta' the place for the WHOLE time!
But, I have been known to rest my eyes a bit in Ellen's Energy Adventure Nap, a time or two...! :D ;) :)

You know, I've never really even thought about that before regarding my grandfathers, and I knew them both relatively well.
But, between both of them (and they were both awesome gentleman - and both farmers in South-Central Texas), my mothers father was a bit more formal and well-spoken. My fathers dad was much more of a connected-to-the-past-and-earth kinda' guy and had a different and wonderful take on life. I always loved the differences! Thinking about it now, my mothers father was a little like Walt. He was always reading Popular Mechanics and Popular Science and talking to us and telling us about new developments and things and about all the cool things we would see in "our" future.
As Walt was, he was also very connected to the past, but he also had such an interest in what was to come and the possibilities for the future. Wow, thanks for even getting me to think about that a bit more deeply!
I love them both very much, but yea, moms pop was a bit more of a Walt-like visionary himself, maybe...!? :)

Special request if you have time...pics at FoTLK...our favorite show in all of WDW...though it sounds like you have a really busy day today.

Yep, that is DEFINITELY one of our favorite shows at WDW! :)
Our niece got picked outta' the crowd for some fun this last trip in June, and I took lotsa' pics and video. Woulda' videoed the whole thing, but the charge on my phone was gettin' low...! :)

We, like you, get to the parks before opening...something about early mornings at WDW...I could not sleep in if I tried...but I never try.
Even on non-park days (resort days are becoming more frequent for us, as are trips to other places in the Orlando area, especially SeaWorld and outlet shopping) we are always up early, ready to do something, even if it is just an early morning walk then a busy day of pool lounging.

I've always heard that as you age (chronologically, anyway ;)) you need less sleep. Sure is true for me. I can't even remember the last time I ever had remotely close to 8 straight hrs. of sleep, ESPECIALLY at WDW...!!! :)
