The One has taken that a step further and will make it to where I can further simplify and enhance my entertainment life. I can move my blu-ray player into another room and I might actually be able to ditch my cable box as well (DVR will be the deciding factor in that).
I agree with this and thats why the whole DRM garbage for games makes me mad. I agree with Miyamoto (nintendo creator of Mario)

And everyday Microsoft makes it more clear that you don't own anything and you have no say or control. I still believe that a game system should allow me to put in a game at any time I want, internet connection or not and play it. I guess I may just be a dieing breed. The decisions Microsoft are making kill me because (and I am not ashamed to say) I have been a HUGE Xbox fanboy. I loved my xbox (it still gets played A LOT) and my 360 has been the pinnacle of gaming for me, so it pains me to say Xbox one isn't in my plans.

Give it 48 hours after launch and I will all but guarantee that someone will have a hack out that gets around the online connection.

Thats why the DRM is so pointless. The more you try to enforce it, the more people try to stick it to you and hack it. Think about it, you hack the system and all you need to do is borrow a game, and since all games run off of the HDD, you won't need to go out and find a pirate copy. Microsoft will be providing everything you need. LoL.

Microsoft isn't doing it for themselves though. They're doing it for the developers. Sony is leaving it up to the developers which is probably a better approach but Sony is not a good company. For years they have made proprietary hardware. I don't trust them.

I have a feeling developers will enjoy the money they make off Xbox used games fees that they will start applying it to their PS4 games as well.

Just a thought.

I love how with all the anti-XBOX talk out there Sony was able to announce that to play games online on the PS4 people will be forced to pay for PSN+, getting almost no heat for the decision.

I don't think it will even take that. I cannot see ea passing up revenue when they have never done it before.

They seem to think the free games they will get from it will make up for the money they're spending. Probably only parappa the rapper remakes.. Besides PlayStation network will not be able to handle the mass exodus of new Sony loyalists and I guarantee you the first 6 months will be a nightmare to actually connect and play games.

Plus it's been revealed that Xbox Live Gold members will be getting two free games per month. Copying Sony, yes it is. But a welcome perk added to a great service.

I have to say, I have PSN+ on my Vita, and the free games offered for it are pretty good.

Noticed that did ya?;) I also like how is is being ignored that the XB1 includes Kinect and the eye, a considerably inferior product, costs and extra $60 for the PS4.

And this is why Iam a PC fanboi.

Way too much pageantry and politics from the world of consoles...

Jimmy Thick- But I'll be buying a PS4...

I like my PC for the sandbox games like Borderlands 2. I will more than likely get South Park: The Stick of Truth on PC.

How did that Titan card work out for your rig?

Forgot about the Eye thing.
Honestly, I don't want to get into an XBOX vs PS bash fest. Just wanted to point out something that seems to be being ignored.
I really don't care who gets what console. I hope everyone gets one that will please them in whatever way.

Quite true. I have no doubt that I would find enjoyment with either console. The reason I am sticking with Xbox is they have not given me a reason not to.

Oh, and Halo.:D

I'm just impossibly stuck on the Xbox controller and I feel like down the road the Xbox features are only going to get better. Look at how much more the current software on the 360 can do vs. When it came out. It is almost like an incremental hardware update.

I was talking about that very thing with my daughter's boyfriend last night. When the 360 launched it played games and that was about it. I can only imagine what the XB1 will be able to do in 5 years.

That room projector concept is pretty amazing to think about but I doubt it will be around soon.
