Australia is also on my bucket list. I so not plan on buying any video games there however. Maybe I should pack the suitcase and sell them at a discount.

Also digerie do is fun to say.

It pains me to admit how often it is dead on accurate. South Park hits the nail on the head quite often as well.

That being said, Australia is #1 on my list of other countries to visit. I like the idea of every single living thing on a continent being able to kill me.:D

My pet kangaroo, Skippy, usually helps me fight off the crocodiles on the way to skill. It's the man-eating tarantulas that get you in your sleep that you gotta look out for ;)

Would it be possible for me to rent a platypus as kind of guard dog? I like the idea of a venomous, egg laying mammal as a form of protection.:D

i preordered the Day One edition at Gamestop

I went straight to MS. I debated getting involved with all of the Launch Day hub-bub but elected to have it arrive at my door step. I am going to pre-order TitanFall so I can still mix it up with the rest of my gaming brethrenif on launch day if I so choose.

The last place I want to be launch day is in a GameStop. I also have a feeling that we may get them a tad early by pre ordering.

While this is encouraging news, I just don't get why with all the bad press, and all the upset gamers, they just don't come out and answer these things definitively. That itself makes me worry. If it was all sunshine and roses, why would you not come out and just say it and stop getting bashed? Its either they are that dumb, or there is something they don't want us to know.

I truly believe this is half to make sure you're not pirating games and half to make sure the cloud features work all the time.

I don't mind either case.

I cannot remeber the last time my internet was out for more than a few hours. If the outage is on ms end well then a call will yield credit, usually more than the outage would have cost me.
No amount of DRM will stop the piraters from doing their thing. I really think that Microsoft has now put a gigantic target on their back because of this. Remember when Sony said the PS3 was un-hackable?

I surely can remember the last time my internet went down, and it was for a week. Is it everyday? No, but when it does happen it will suck not to be able to play my games.

That is the $64,000 question. I am assuming that they do not have every detail locked down. Once they speak they can not take it back. Sometimes it is better to stay silent and let people think you are a fool then open your mouth and remove all doubt.

Yea but you would think by now they would have made getting the answers priority one. Especially since Sony and Nintendo have been piling on so much. Articles like this just don't help.

The PlayStation 4 is a consumer-focused machine, and that's why it will not limit used games or require users to connect to the Internet once a day, according to executive Jack Tretton.....

Speaking about used games, Tretton said the ability to freely share titles with friends or resell them to retailers creates value for the initial purchase. If this flexibility were to be taken away, consumers would be less likely to buy games, he argued.....

The other thing as it relates to the ownership of the game, if people pay a lot of money for that, they equate the value with the flexibility they have in that," Tretton said. "To do with it as they choose; to give it to their friends, sell it to their friends, trade it in to another retailer; that creates value in the initial purchase that they make.....

Microsoft is being undermined because they haven't released the details definitively. By not doing this people tend to think they are hiding something (myself included). I want nothing more than to support the next Xbox, but until there are concrete answers, I can't do it and I am guessing I am not alone.

IGN is reporting that Microsoft has made huge changesto the XBOX ONE policies previously announced.

The 24 hour check in policy is no more. Internet will only be required when first setting up the console.

There will no longer be restrictions to used games. Games can be lender or traded as they currently are able to be.

Also, the system will not be region locked.

I'm not sure this means what most people consider region lock to be. I think this is more to alleviate the problems the Witcher devs in Poland brought up. I don't think this means EU XB's will play US games and vice versa, but maybe I am reading too much into it.

And wow what a total reversal. I didn't see it, but the shenanigans that went down on Jimmy Fallon last night might have had something to do with it.

Still not wanting one. 100+ dollars extra for stuff I don't care about and a TBD release year for Japan make this decision really easy. I think this is a big win for the consumer in general though, and hopefully brings some reality back to MS.

I did expect Microsoft to lighten the restrictions but I didn't expect this. What happened on Fallon?

They must have had bad present sale numbers and were genuinely influenced by consumers. If they were more transparent it would have gone better for them.

I do think this is bad though. If it takes away the web based sharing and not having to use a disk I'm really let down by the complainers.

I think this is the best thing Microsoft could have done. If they would have continued with their strategy, I truly believe they come in last place. I wouldn't call people wanting the freedom they have always had since the first home console, complainers. Always remember that just because their policies might not have effected you, doesn't mean that's how it is for everyone. Not having to put the disk in was a nice feature but it would have actually been fairly useless on the Xbox one because of the 500gb HDD. 500gb will go away really quick with the size of games and HD movies plus music....... So the pluses of the new policies far outweigh what we lost in the old ones in my book. I applaud them for listening to the consumer and making changes. I still can't believe that they would have tried this kind of thing in the first place. I don't think they are out of the clear yet, but if they deliver on the games, I think the bad will that consumers have will slowly go away.

From a PR standpoint I would have to agree, but from what I have been reading 2 of the best features will be lost due to this change. Playing a game without the disk and the ability to log into your account from another XB1 and play any game in your library will be lost.

The no disk feature could have been nice, but Microsoft all but ruined it by putting a 500gb HDD in the unit. I have around 40 to 60 games for each of my systems and there is no way I could fit that many games on a Xbox one. So the feature would be cool for a bit but then it would get to be more of a pain then its worth once the hard drive is full because you couldn't run a game off of the disk even if you wanted to. I still think that some things like the game share will come back, it will just only work if you have the digital copy. Otherwise you can still go no disk because they said all games will be available as download.

Here is an article detailing what we lost.

Personally, I wish they could have gone with an opt in/out feature. Don't want to check in on line every day and what to buy used games, fine, opt out and lose X, Y and Z.

I agree with that and I think that still could be a possibility. I really don't see why they couldn't do it, the infrastructure is already there. The problem with that article was it was too what if on pricing. I don't believe for a second that the price structure for new or used would have changed at all. Used would have gone up if the publisher got a cut and I just don't see them changing the structure of new games. Now if Microsoft would have come out and said new games would be $39 people wouldn't have gone as bananas as they did. With the structure they set up that should have been how it is because of all the cost savings from the DRM and the used games cut that they get. They really promoted it wrong and that let Sony and Nintendo fuel the fire. You just can't restrict people that way and keep your pricing structure the same as the other guy and expect no backlash.
