Let me preface this by saying I'm a big supporter of Universal and I love it when they give Disney good competition.

I think Harry Potter will be a great addition and very well done, however, it's still IMO relatively small, area wise.

I think if Universal doesn't do crowd control well, they could have some issues if the opening is as popular as many are speculating and that could cause some bad press.

I agree. It's definitely the major problem I foresee for WW. The shops are very small, and FJ will have a small capacity. Lines will be nuts there.

Very true, but keep in mind that it's not a separate gate from the rest of the Islands. All the coasters there are major man-eaters, and as long as they close the park when it reaches capacity people will have plenty to do there.

I still haven't been to the Islands, actually. I'm dying to ride Hulk.

In addition, I know it's pretty rare to do this around here, but I really want to wait until both areas are finished before making up my mind.

Disney isn't the only company being forced to make cutbacks and while I hope all of these ground-breaking, Earth-shattering, game-changing attractions being hyped as part of this new Harry Potter area actually come to pass, until everything's built there's no telling what might not actually make it into reality.

As far as I've heard, cut backs have been very minimal on WW. JK basically handcuffed them and told them that if it wasn't done to her level of specifications, then it wouldn't be done at all.

I know this, but still think they will have problems.

Imagine MK having 20,000 extra guests per day that only want to see Main St. and the castle, will they be willing to go to the rest of the park, or get mad when it's too crowded to see what they came for?

Maybe you're right, maybe they will spread out and go to JP and Marvel Island, etc. and make it less crazy but I'm not so sure.

People do get mad when they see lines. Trust me.:brick:

This is a tough one, I'm a 25 year old male so I would like to see a little more to this expansion but I still have to go with Fantasyland. I'm a huge Little Mermaid fan, so I can't wait for the ride. I'm pretty excited for the Be Our Guest restaurant too. All the themeing in general should just look incredible. I don't think I will be disappointed.

As for wizarding world, the only thing I'm really interested in is this amazing ride they are building. This sounds like its just going to be an incredible experience. I also can't wait to see how well themed it is, so far it looks like Universal's best effort yet.

Just because it's "princessland" doesn't mean it's bad or it doesn't fit. I hope it's not used in this way. FLand is for the young and young at heart, and there's no need to trash it because it highlights 4 princesses, the Beast and his crew, Tink, Dumbo and his crew, and the under the sea gang... but people just seem to focus on the girly stuff. Figures.

To me, a guy, it represents these 2d characters coming to life... I may not want to meet and greet, but my neices will. And surely I appreciate the amazing buildings, landscaping, etc.

I think its kind of telling that WWoHP is trouncing FL is this poll on a disney fan website. For most people WWoHP is just looking to be a much better experience. If this forum was populated by 5 year old girls, then I am sure FL would be winning.

I knew that KUKA arms are confirmed, but are they really going to track the things? The weight and stresses would be tremendous.
I figured they were just going to make the show vehicles larger and have fewer of them, and the arm could move you from stage to stage while keeping the same axis. At the most, you could have a couple arms on a turntable.

A track though? Is this confirmed?
Confirmed? Yes.

Just don`t look for it on Unis website.

I have to say I have never been to Universal and I am not really a fan of HP, but I am curious about the WW. I have seen many photos and it looks really well done. I am sure it will pull it lots of numbers for Universal but I think because Disney doing a major expansion in the Magic Kingdom will win out in the end. Many people who have not been to the parks in years might use this as a chance to see it again. But same goes as harry but I know lots of people who could care less either way.

Exactly, it's not finished. On Hogwarts grounds and Dragon Challenge you'll have trees, rockwork, water and different architecture.

You've never been through DC's queue. That alone is a breathtaking walk through a forest and a castle.

Isn't Hogwarts just a rethemed Dueling Dragons castle???

Sorry, but I haven't been keeping up with HP world because I really do have no interest in the franchise. I read the first 4 books when they first came out and saw the first movie (kind of).

Whether or not you are interested in the franchise DOES play a huge part on the poll question of which project you're looking forward to more. I'm obviously looking forward to the Fantasyland Forest way more than Hocus Pocus Harry Potter Hardly Pleasing to my interests Land...

Every single person has to realize that WDW is in complete reaction mode to WWoHP. When it was first rumored, WDW should have put the wheels in motion. Now that WWoHP is opening, WDW decided to "expanded" Fantasyland. Unless they are going to make it extremely elaborate for each of the Princesses, it is most likely going to be dull in comparison. In order for there to be a comparison, each Princess portion would need a castle or area as elaborate as Cinderella's Castle. We know that is not going to happen.

I'm sorry, I just think WDW is dropping the ball from a comparison sake. Will WWoHP impact WDW? No. Will WWoHP show up WDW? Most definitely.

WDW is severely lacking from a theme park perspective. The primary themes are Pirates, Princesses, and flavor of the month video release. I do love going to WDW. However, the only WOW Factor is in my DD's eyes. From an adult male perspective, my view of WDW is "Oooo, only 10% of the park has changed since it opened almost 40 years ago!"

Yeah i totally agree. But at the same time i think alot of people dont know what they want according to disney. Universal has a lot of rides that they can replace after so long, such as the hulk for instants. If they wanted to change the name of it and refurb it not many people would be too offended were as disney has some classics that not many people want to change. So its prob for the best that disney extend and dont change (Even though they are changing things)

But as ive said before...I CANT WAIT TO GO TO HOGWARTS...Thats from an immature 17 year olds perspective :) xxx

Do you mind if I ask what demographic you are slotted into? I am a 27 male, getting married this summer. I have no kids right now, but plan to. FL expansion appeals to me in no way whatsoever. What about it appeals to you?
