The price of getting older. I still remember Junior Autopia. The feature was going thru the Garage/Barn (aka Tunnel). Photos my grandparents had helped keep that memory in my crazy brain. Loved that silly ride in my childhood.

Would you mind sharing some of your old Disneyland pictures with us?

It was! I LOVED Midget Auotpia. That and Casey Jr. were my two favorite rides when I was pre-K. And maybe even K.

It seems that with any big renovation at Disneyland their is a trade off. You lose charming little things like Midget Autopia but usually for a net gain.... except when it comes to TL 98.

Since Midget Autopia used electric motors and a busbar like the dark rides, it looks like the CMs would manually push the extra cars on or off? Is that how it worked?
Yes, and many similar rides today still use that system. A section of track can be swinged away, and vehicles can be pushed off, using the wheels on the vehicles.

Heck, I think Disneyland in the 1950's would take the vehicle, and push it down the sidewalk (when the park was closed) to take it backstage for major repair/service. Minor stuff was done at the ride,

How has the removal of all smoking sections that started on May 1st impacted operations? You guys aren't losing your brains like the people on the main forum.

We live in California, where there have been strict smoking restrictions for years.

The biggest impact will be foreign visitors, and they might break the rules on occasion.

Live and let live.

Weeds been way more popular here and it already wasn’t allowed in the parks. I couldn’t get over how many cigarettes I smelt in NYC last year. Definitely not something I’m used to anymore unless I’m passing through a Vegas casino
