Got my tickets for this:
A Chilling Legacy: 50 Years of Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion – Midsummer Scream

Looks like a neat event, and the Bob Gurr/Tony Baxter duo should be really interesting.
Where is the Grand Ballroom?

Rumor going around LEGO leak Instagram accounts. Doesn't sound like the most reliable source but they're very often right. It's supposed to be over $300.Got a link? My Google search brought up a CK Holliday on "Lego Ideas" but I didn't see anything saying it's getting released

The Grand Ballroom is the newest addition of the Long Beach Convention Center (Trying to compete with Anaheim's new ACC North Ballroom). Very nice rooms without center columns.Where is the Grand Ballroom?
Take this with a grain of salt....
FreshBaked is reporting a rumor that a famous well known Imagineer was recently seen atop the Peoplemover tracks surveying TL. Now they don't mention who the Imagineer was but the rumor is that they are looking to completely redo TL here in the next couple years, maybe even dropping the TL theme completely with the possibility of new original attractions.
Assuming this is true for a second, and given the fact that MMRR just got announced instead of at D23, could this be the big announcement in store for DLR at D23?
Thoughts?
Its not that far fetched as we know they will do something with TL sooner or later. Now how soon that will happen is one of the biggest debates in the Disney fandom.Seeing someone survey the tracks turned into "Tomorrowland overhaul and complete retheme coming soon"?
Yeesh.
Maybe this needs its own thread, but forgetting the whole dropping the TL theme part for a second. Are you saying Disney isn't planning on redoing TL anytime soon?Yeah I’m sure they’re completely thinking of dropping the Tomorrowland theme. Maybe it’ll be a Star Wars or Marvel land... heck, maybe they can even make it steampunk!
Oof, I forget how pricy Lego gets. I'd pay over $300 for a detailed scale model.... Not sure I want a Lego version at that price.

Don't be obtuse. We all want a Tomorrowland overhaul, we just think the idea that seeing someone survey the people over track somehow equals them ditching the Tomorrowland theme altogether is kind of a stretch.
Not sure if you watched the video, but the very next thing said in the video after "guy spotted on PM tracks" was that "guy spotted on PM tracks recommended Tomorrowland be demo'd."

They ll never ditch the TL theme at DL. I mean... in name at least. Tomorrowland isn't even Tomorrowland right now. It’s Sci fi, Star Wars lite, Pixar Pier South.
I think the resolution is simpler than people make it out to be. Just go out so far into the future that it won’t be outdated soon. Which of course will make it a little Fantasy based but that’s ok. I mean has architecture changed that much in the last 30 years? Our buildings are still mostly large, tall rectangles and boxes. When You look at Space Mountain, do you see something that looks outdated? I don’t, because I’ve never seen anything like that in real life. So I think TL should be a mix of a realistic mix of an optimistic view of the future, fantasy and a dash of Sci Fi. Of course with plenty of kinetic energy and levels of activity.
The problem is that you're only looking at architecture of the US, which by all standards is pretty bland.
The Europeans and UAE have been building futuristic architecture for decades now, and its made a come back in recent years. And yes Space Mountain looks outdated compared to some of it.
I mean just look at this in Abu Dhabi -

Thing like that is common outside the US that is my point. Overall US architecture is pretty bland and boring in comparison. To me Space Mountain looks just as futuristic as whatever I’m looking at in that photo. The area around it could use some sprucing up and it could use some more greenery but it’s still solid. The only way it stops looking futuristic is if that type of architecture becomes common.
