Let's see... next they'll remove all references to booze, guns and arson... and we'll soon have: Pirates Who Are Actually Quite Nice of the Caribbean. And they'll light up all the caves and muffle the ship cannons so no one's emotional support animal will feel uncomfortable.

They made that into a movie, unfortunately Comcast/Universal owns the rights...

Why is the Indiana Jones pinball machine broken so often? Disney fixed it up after the big Adventureland remodel in early 2018, but last time I went (couple months ago) it was removed from South Sea Traders and “under refurbishment” according to the cast member within the shop and I haven’t heard anything about it being fixed since then.

Yes
Was at DCA yesterday. As I approached GOTG: MB what bothered me most (this time) was not that it’s ugly but that they overlayed a giant building that was so obviously supposed to be something else. I dunno, I just don’t think you take those kind of liberties with the tallest building in the parks.

Oh ya the FP station where they just slapped “Tivian” on the bronze suitcases on the FP machines? 😒

Also kind of crazy how much you can see of the Cadillac Mountain range from GOTG now.

Nothing like running a Google Search on Al Lutz and pulling up a @TP2000 post from '99-

Of course the Treehouse was originally built to tie in with the live
action Swiss Family Robinson movie of the early 60's, a good example of
early Disneyland cross-promotion. But how many kids under 12 know who
the Robinson family is nowadays? Do they still read that story in
elementary schools? Or are the Robinsons too white and too Protestant to
pass muster for most Politically Correct school boards? Are the
Robinsons relevant in 1999?

You all still ask these questions twenty years later!

Had a thought:
As parkgoers we can generally tell when something is a screen or an animatronic. We can even discern when we're looking at a hybrid figure; one that uses projection tech along with traditional animatronic mechanics. But I don't think Disney or Universal has yet attempted to make a screen look like an animatronic. Why bring this up? The fluidity of an animatronic however-advanced is still a little stilted and stiff. And screeenz are the exact opposite, too fluid, hyperreal. Good in a pinch but still obviously a screen. Why not find a common ground between the two and fill the gap with digital animatronics?

A screen never looks three dimensional. Just like CG, there is no "weight" to it.

True enough. Uni's parallax "squinching" effect has helped in that regard. I can see the benefits of attempting it. The logic is sound; We want AAs, we don't want screens. So naturally, make a screen look like an AA scene. I just don't think it's been attempted yet.

Thinking about it, I think Universal having the theme park rights to Marvel and Simpsons is a huge blessing for Disneyland fans. I think both properties work far better without the Disney limitations, and I'd hate to think how Disney would try to shoehorn the Simpsons into Toontown or Fantasyland...
So you're saying you DON'T want us to re-skin Autopia as The Simpson's Springfield Speedway?
