I wouldn't be surprised if they were still running XP.... ;)
I have computers with XP through 11, mostly to support friends and family.
But basic Android with basic features and even last generation iPhone available for the low cost of $0.00.
Not free, the cost is factored into the service charges. I do Tracfone, $125/year for service plus the occasional $5 for extra texts.

My usual upgrade method is to buy the cheapest Samsung from QVC or HSN for less than that but it comes with a year so they are paying me to get a new phone.

My issue is that I like mine because it's smaller with features like a memory card slot and removable battery. With each iteration they take away more control. And don't even get me started on Apple.

Having said all that, I am mildly infatuated with the little Z Flips ...

I don't even want to know, I was joking.

Of course the cost is factored into the service, but really with a go-phone like Tracfone (Verizon) you can get an inexpensive phone for almost nothing with a reasonable plan. So still not a huge price factor. But whatever, you like being stubborn. ;)

And I have an iPhone, so come at me....

With how bad Disney has become, I wish I had the finances to build a theme park. One that really is dedicated to the ideals, the dreams, and the hard facts that have created America, just like Disneyland used to be. Unfortunately, even if I could replicate Main Street USA, Frontierland, New Orleans Square, Critter Country, and Tomorrowland, I could never replicate Fantasyland without Disney, and that really is the heart of the park. What is Disneyland without Sleeping Beauty Castle?

Sure you can, you just need to come up with your own versions of the fairy tales that are all in the public domain.

I found a picture of Bill Hill and the Hillbillies from 2004 at Disneyland. It's the same people that I just saw at Knotts last week!!! Boy do they look old now.

Have you considered running VMs with different OS on them. Then you can bring up windows XP in a window and not have a physical computer taking up space. I do that with Linux distros too. It's great for getting that stubborn old game working.

Thanks. They're mostly laptops that I've kept going along the way, don't take up much space. I do have VMs with the contemporaneous Linux on some.

Seasonal food at DLR comes and goes and most of its forgettable but a couple things we always look forward to are the Sweet n Spicy chicken tenders at Flo’s during Halloween and the Fluffernutter churro. Oh and I guess now we can add that fried fish sandwich they sold at Hungry Bear during lent/ Spring. Not sure if it’ll come back with the new BBQ menu.

I haven't been paying attention -- any word on the future of Frontierland Shootin' Exposition at Disneyland? Given that the Shootin' Arcade closed at MK, I'm not holding my breath...

I mean it wouldn’t shock me to see it go away. Then hopefully their rebranding of Frontierland to mean the “natural wonders of the Frontier” will be complete. Good news is that if it were to go away it most likely turn into some eatery or shop instead of a DVC lounge.

I'm surprised we haven't heard an announcement. It's quite a charming little attraction -- so of course it's probably on the chopping block.

Honestly, "Natural Wonders of the Frontier" would be amazing if such a rebrand preserved the ROA, island, etc. I'm desperate here for WDI to not bulldoze the entire area for an asinine Cars ride.

Agreed. As much as id like the shooting gallery to stick around I don’t care if I ever see a Cowboy or a rifle again. Just leave the ROA alone. Although over at Knotts that stuff seems to be just fine. Aesthetically that’s what the land has always been even if it’s lost all the cowboy n Indian stuff and the Tom Sawyer theme on the island. Frontierland today is more or less what it’s been during my lifetime. We didn’t do really do TSI or take any of the river boats when I was a kid when it still had some of those elements. I guess when your cousin is visiting from Italy or Chicago you don’t have time for TSI or the Mark Twain but I can guarantee you that for a tourist-(especially an Italian or European enamored by the Wild West) that vista is probably one of the most memorable.

Yeah the land moved away from its original premise long ago. Its value at this point (for most guests) is the tranquility of the river and the natural environment. Hopefully any future edits by WDI simply bolster those qualities.
