The letter from the board basically says they are bringing Iger back for 2 years so he can "try again" with finding his successor. It will be interesting to see what happens. Does he bring in someone new? Does he bring a current executive under his wing? Interesting...
What’s the saying about doing the same thing over and over again? This is like the fourth time.

The difference between the two men? This picture basically says it all, right? Clothing choice, body language, genuine vs. forced smile... Interesting...

Iger also refused to wear Mickey Mouse Ears at Disneyland because he found it undignified.

Happy Thanksgiving Eve to the gang here! I hope everyone has a good one tomorrow! 🦃🇺🇸

TP2000 Turkey Tip: Bring a bottle of an Oregon Willamette Valley Pinot Noir for your hostess tomorrow! And tell her she should save it for Friday for turkey sandwiches as she recovers. Oregon's Willamette Valley Pinots are absolutely fabulous even at modest price points and go beautifully with turkey. And for those of you east of the Rockies, impress your hostess further by pronouncing Willamette correctly; Wuh-la-muht, softly stressing each syllable the same as the crystal clear dialect of the Pacific Northwest does so nicely.

Let's remember folks- while she was park president the highest level of staff service was achieved, all while building upon the traditional strength of the brand.

At the expense of the lowest level of theme park maintenance that got a guest killed that she got to spend more time with her "family".

I actually enjoy World, hilariously distorted landmarks aside, but it has none of SoC’s emotional impact. I agree SoC should be a permanent attraction at DCA.

This is the type of BS Chapek loves. Creating false scarcity. The fact that they know SOC is superior and that DLR fans prefer it to World but use it as a way to promote Food and Wine Festival is sickening. This isn’t some seasonal food offering. It’s an attraction that they view like a seasonal churro. It’s gross and I hope this is the type of stuff that changes with Chapek gone. Having World be be played during Food and Wine would accomplish the same exact thing and they wouldn’t be shelving the superior version 10 months a year.

This is a tactic that's been used by Disney for decades. Especially in the 80's/90's/00's when they practiced moratorium on Disney animated movies (known as The Vault) and would only release them every 7 years for a short time to drive up demand.

Right but it’s one thing to put a movie in the vault every few years and it’s another to shelve a superior film/ attraction to create more demand for a Food and Wine festival. Or maybe they don’t view it as superior? I guess that’s plausible since World is playing everywhere else in the World. If so, just shows how out of touch they are.

Or maybe they just have to save face because the spent money on an inferior replacement.

Anyway I just don’t think you can compare a physical piece of media going into the vault every few years to an attraction at a theme park that’s meant to be experienced in person. You can’t buy “the Soarin Over California experience” and save it for later. This would be like if they rerouted Splash Mountain to skip the final drop and only allowed you to experience it during Halloween. Its like you have the better version. Let us experience that for the majority of the year. Especially, you know, in its original home, the park that’s called California Adventure and where it is revered.

They've also been doing the same thing with MSEP for far longer than we've known who Bob Chapek is.

I'd say the physical media (and prior to that, theatrical re-releases) Disney vault concept does indeed show that this is hardly new for the company, as much as it is frustrating for so many of us.

Entertainment is seasonal/ temporary in nature. have no problems with MSEP coming back every few years. But to purposely shelve the superior version of an attraction for the majority of the year is wrong. Especially when doing it the other way around would have the exact same effect.
