I'm sure others here in SoCal just had this happen... My iPhone just sprang to life with that horrible screeching emergency alert that tells you either North Korea launched ballistic missiles at the West Coast, or a tsunami is headed our way in 10 minutes.
Except it wasn't World War III, it was an emergency alert about dwindling electricity on the California grid and it told me to turn off all appliances and air conditioning immediately to prevent blackouts in my area.
So, like the subversive jerk that I am with a generator in the garage
, I turned the AC
down to 68 from 71, hit start on the dishwasher even though it's only 2/3'rds full, and turned on my big TV set and its blaring alone in the other room now.
But I'd hate to be at Disneyland in this heat!
And think of all the electricity Disneyland is gulping down right now! With the D23 Expo convention requiring massive AC and electricity loads later this week.
