The Mickey planter looks fine. I don't think I would notice that it is artificial. Like @mickEblu said, the HM grass is the only "lawn" I'm not thrilled with. Maybe it's just the lighting in the photos, but the color just seems off for the tones of the HM. In the pics I've seen, the grass seems like it's on the bright yellow-green end of the grass spectrum, when a darker, blue grass kind of look would fit the mansion better, IMO. Again, just an opinion from pictures. Maybe it is fine in person.
Disney Analyst posted an Instagram video on the previous page. Looks much better in that video than in the over-saturated photo that was posted.

Just got back from the parks and man, today was brutal. 110° high + half of DCA basically shut down the entire day (are these related?). Guardians, Incredicoaster, and Grizzly River Run all went down at around the same time, and GRR + GotG were out for an extended time. I don't think I saw Guardians go back online until around 8pm, and by then it was a 200 minute wait.

Disneyland didn't fare much better. Everything was having problems, with Rise going down intermittently + Space getting e-stopped while we were in the loading area. Still salvaged a good time with ILLs for Rise + Genie+ everywhere else but holy moly. Never again.

Disney’s attempt at Animal Crossing, “Dreamlight Valley,” (boy, does that awful name sum up today’s Disney or what?) launched today, and it’s free on XBox Gamepass, so I’m giving it a whirl.

No matter what choices I make in the avatar character creator, I end up looking like a YouTuber.

Isn't there a non-Disney game called Star Dew Valley with the same premise or something like it?

Yes, but until recently it was a “niche” series; one of Nintendo’s B-tier franchises. It wasn’t until the latest, “New Horizons,” released during Covid shutdowns that it became a smash hit and part of mainstream pop culture.
Too bad that never happen to Kid Icarus. All we got was the NES game and the 3DS game.

I guess people like being a serf to an entire town of lazy people.

Yeah, but anyone can play Animal Crossing; Kid Icarus games are tough.

Kid Icarus Uprising is one of my favorite games ever. Pure genius and off-the-charts creativity from start to finish. If Nintendo ever announces a high-def remaster for Switch I’ll be one happy 3-headed-Hewdraw slayer.

I'm sure others here in SoCal just had this happen... My iPhone just sprang to life with that horrible screeching emergency alert that tells you either North Korea launched ballistic missiles at the West Coast, or a tsunami is headed our way in 10 minutes.

Except it wasn't World War III, it was an emergency alert about dwindling electricity on the California grid and it told me to turn off all appliances and air conditioning immediately to prevent blackouts in my area.

So, like the subversive jerk that I am with a generator in the garage , I turned the AC down to 68 from 71, hit start on the dishwasher even though it's only 2/3'rds full, and turned on my big TV set and its blaring alone in the other room now.

But I'd hate to be at Disneyland in this heat! And think of all the electricity Disneyland is gulping down right now! With the D23 Expo convention requiring massive AC and electricity loads later this week.

When are you moving to Utah?

Just as soon as I crash the system here. 🤣

Are you online during this current Flex Alert? Internet server farms and WiFi systems use HUGE amounts of electricity. ;)
