I keep thinking back on all of those specials on the Disney channel back in the day where they showed us how they fixed and dusted and kept on top of taking care of all of the attractions in the park--every night when we went home, a whole team came out in full force. I don't even have a clever way to wrap this up, because it's just sad *gestures broadly*
I still remember the Modern Marvels episode on Walt Disney World when they proudly said something to the effect of "thanks to preventative maintenance, the Monorail is amazingly reliable," which has...not aged well.

"The Blue Bayou restaurant in Disneyland’s New Orleans Square will begin a soft reopening on Saturday, May 28 before fully reopening in June, according to Disney officials.

The restaurant closed for refurbishment on April 21. It will reopen for dinner only starting Saturday before fully reopening June 8. The Blue Bayou will resume accepting reservations when it returns to full operations."

Just hit my 60 day window for Day 1 of my trip and there are a ton of restaurants that either 1) are fully booked already or more likely 2) haven't been loaded into the system yet.

Menus are still pretty skimpy, Carthay isn't open at lunch, and things are just clearly not ready for primetime still.

Has the mobile ordering situation at counter service restaurants gotten any better as of late?

Mobile ordering has gotten better but at the same time I think we just started learning what we needed to order ahead of time. The new popular seasonal items sometimes go quick and I hear dole whip pick up windows can get pretty far out fast.

Yes, I will for sure have an umbrella and poncho packed. Strongly considering bringing my waterproof jacket, I just don’t want to wear it in that heat.

That’s true. I went to the Dominican Republic and it didn’t rain once. However, I’ve heard that it actually has been storming out in Orlando over the past week lol. Guess we’ll see.
Bring the jacket and an extra pair of socks. Hopefully there will just be one big deluge in the afternoon and you can enjoy the rest of your evening.

How often do you go to FL or WDW? Hope you have an amazing time.

Do you have anything else planned while you're out there?
Thank you! This is my first visit to Florida and WDW. I’m going out there fo celebrate my friend’s bachelorette festivities. That’s priority. My friend and I decided to check out MK, since we’re going to be in the neighborhood. It’s going to be a very chill visit. We’re not looking to do everything and we likely won’t enter the park until 4 or 5 pm.

I cannot stress this enough, bring an umbrella and/or poncho. I went last week and the weather changed so quick. When we landed the weather was nice and partly cloudy and by the time the evening came it was thunder, lightning and pouring rain. We were walking around Disney Springs unprepared and got soaked. 😂

Yeah the weather can go from sunny to pouring rain in a matter of seconds, just prepare as best as you can. Hope you have a great time, can’t wait to hear your report!

Luckily the Peoplemover is usually easy to get on. Even if the line time seems long it moves quick.

This picture just came up in my Instagram feed. Completely forgot that they went with all white vehicles for the Peoplemover at some point. No wonder I only rode them 2 or 3x as a kid. Slow and boring to look at? Why did move away from the original color scheme? According to the caption the pic was taken at some point in the early 80s on which means I never saw colored People Mover vehicles in my lifetime.

I heard that some of them were only looking out for their own children. If that’s true, then wow.

19 officers in a hallway for an hour right outside the classroom while children inside are calling 911 for their help? Heartbreaking. And to make matters worse they were handcuffing parents who wanted to run in there. Seriously, they better retire those cowboy hats. It appears they re only interested in looking macho.

What?? I haven’t been closely following this incident because it’s been taking a toll on my mental health, so I haven’t heard this until now. Very, very shameful. I would have went to jail because I certainly would have attempted to run in their had it been my children.

One of the teachers who was shot had a husband and four children. Her husband passed away I believe yesterday, after suffering a heart attack. Now their children have no parents. It just gets worse and worse.

Yea I read that story yesterday. Terrible. It’s time that every school has multiple armed guards. If we have 40 billion to send Ukraine we have the money for this.
