I'd like to say, proper urinal etiquette is to do every other urinal until there's no choice but to fill in the gaps.
Very true, although dividers between the urinals make a huge difference. For some inexplicable reason, most public school bathrooms in the US don't have dividers, so kids would literally wait in line before going between two other people. We had 5 urinals in a row and if you used urinal #2 or #4 you were instantly an because now there’s only one other useable urinal.

They don't use dividers in most public schools in the US because they would get tagged, scratched, or otherwise destroyed within the first week of school.

I’d rather that than no divider any day, instead they just do it in the stalls.
Why has this thread devolved into restroom etiquette? Lol

The lack of dividers doesn't bother me, we all know what we're doing. And personally as someone who has broad shoulders having dividers in a crowded bathroom can be very constricting.

FTFY 🤣

ETA: I was in a public place with a unisex bathroom once. Nope. Nope. Nope. Please keep the menfolk out of our bathroom space. There are too many of you with bad aim. (In fairness, this place had alcohol, so that may have been a significant contributing factor.)

Lol.

If I had to guess they re “wheel chair” urinals to be up to some code and yet I’ve never seen someone in a wheelchair using them. I see kids or able bodied adults that are too lazy to walk to the next urinal using them. So for all intents and purposes they are kids urinals. No matter why they came along or what they are officially known as.
Yes, they are required by accessibility codes. Actual children’s urinals tend to be mounted even lower because for younger boys the wheelchair height can still be too high. Even at places like a Disney park there really isn’t any consideration given to providing facilities for children. No children stalls or a sink that is lower with soap and controls within reach. At most there might be a folding step at a sink.

Having been responsible for cleaning bathrooms, the women’s room was always worse.

I love Asian cultures, but I found Coco to be much better than Turning Red- for whatever that's worth. I loved the music though (in both movies, actually).

Isn't Turning Red set in modern Toronto? It looked like the CN Tower featured prominently on the skyline of the clips I saw.

Can we really call a story of a modern Canadian girl living in Toronto an "Asian" movie? It seems Canadian to me. Although, my main point of reference for Canada is Vancouver and Whistler, and almost half the Canadians there seem to be of Asian descent. Regardless of ethnicity or race, they still pronounce house funny. ;)

Watched Turning Red with the family. It's a cute coming-of-age movie, mixed in with mother/daughter family dynamics stuff. As a former 13 year old girl and a mom, I related to a lot of it.

As far as the argument that this movie targets a "narrow demographic", I'd have to disagree. Half the population is female (and those of us that aren't teens now, were teens at some point). That's not a small group of people. And frankly, you don't have to be female to relate to this movie. Puberty is a time of awkward change and figuring out who you are. Who can't relate to that? Also, the fact that the family in the movie are Chinese-Canadians didn't block this Slavic-American from relating. 🤷‍♀️
Agreed - I'm a white guy in my late 20s and found plenty to relate to.

Also, I last visited Toronto 20 years ago (around the time Turning Red was set!) and don't particularly remember the city. That didn't interfere with my enjoyment of the movie.

One complaint I've seen from several reviewers is that they can't relate to how over-the-top the mom was, immediately followed by multiple comments indicating they had a parent exactly like this.

Still, even if aspects of the movie aren't realistic, is it that hard to see something as an artistic exaggeration? Exaggerating is built into the DNA of this film, down to the anime facial expressions, dramatic slow-mo shots, and red panda metaphor. I actually really liked the art style and found the movie soulful (even if it's not a full-on tearjerker), dynamic, and fun.

Wow, Disney somehow managed to ruin their number one hit song at the Oscars.

How'd they mess this up so badly? All they had to do was perform the song as it was written.

Was it ruined? I see it as a celebration of the Latin culture on full display at the Oscars with an over-the-top performance that is common in that culture.

Sure it wasn't faithful to the movie version, but it appeared to be accepted by most in the audience from what I saw.

From what I've seen the Oscars can use an infusion of this type of over-the-top performance.

This seems to be the prevailing sentiment on Twitter too, and I was going to come to this thread to say the same thing.

The number as shown in the movie had so much potential to translate to the Oscars stage, in part because the staging in the movie is already pretty theatrical. Disappointed we never heard some of the song's best parts (Dolores' whisper rap, Camilo's song, and the entirety of the polyphonic mashup we hear at the end of the song).

Oh well. At least we got an amazing performance of Dos Oroguitas.

On another note, I was at the parks for about 8 hours today, and I'm kind of shocked how great the experience was all things considered. Attraction wait times were very reasonable for a Sunday where multiple popular attractions are out for refurbishment (60 minute RSR, 65 minute Rise, 50 minute Space? Crazy!), and because we started at DCA today we didn't wait too long for any booths at the Food and Wine festival. (I suspect that the festival itself played a part in the low wait times though, considering it was an attraction in and of itself.)

Food was on the whole a hit for everyone in my party: highlights were the carbonara-garlic mac and cheese as well as the chicharrón-crusted fried artichoke dip. Only gripe I had was they've removed the ability to order food from any booth, which wasn't super convenient. Also, by 1pm, DCA was unbearable to walk around because of the people hopping over from Disneyland.

Still waiting to see the TV ratings for Disney's ABC-TV Oscars broadcast this year.

It didn't help that the violent physical assault of host Chris Rock by a clearly unhinged Will Smith happened late in the show. If they were trying to create interest in a dying concept, keeping the mentally unstable physical violence until the third hour doesn't help. Run the violence from the mentally deranged folks at the start, so people tune in quickly and bump your ratings!

Also, I absolutely love that Will Smith was allowed to calmly take his seat after his violent assault. And then 20 minutes later get called up to accept Best Actor. 🤪

Can you imagine if the guy running the Dolby Theatre snack bar had walked up and smacked one of the hosts on stage? Or if a Floridian had gone up onstage and slapped Amy Schumer and Wanda Sykes after they made fun of them for the way they vote in state elections? Those folks would be deep, deep, deep inside the Los Angeles County Jail by now. 🤣

After seeing some uncensored footage, I don't think that was planned.

They greatly cut up the number and the parts of their latin actors and actresses parts to throw in a random 2 minute rap that wasnt part of the song.

They should celebrate diversity by having the full song.
