Why do so many people here hate the Little Mermaid ride? I can understand Pooh and Buzz getting heat for what they replaced, but TLM? Why?
I have a feeling this post is semi-sarcastic...Because Golden Dreams was the best use of film in a Disney Attraction.
Because it does the opposite of what a good animated-classic-based dark ride should: It removes every single exciting element. The terrific movie has storms, shipwrecks, sharks, and one of the best battles in any Disney film. The ride is called “Ariel’s Undersea Adventure,” but the only thing that hapoens is Ariel goes out on a date. All thrills removed—not even Ursula is threatening. Why do so many people here hate the Little Mermaid ride? I can understand Pooh and Buzz getting heat for what they replaced, but TLM? Why?

But people tend to consider it on level with travesties such as Journey Into YOUR Imagination, rather than wanting it to be improved.Because it does the opposite of what a good animated-classic-based dark ride should: It removes every single exciting element. In other words, it’s a very expensive waste of opportunity. It should have been much more than an omnimover ride through a sing-along. Nice air conditioning, though.
I agree that’s taking the negativity too far. I find the ride a disappointment, but the first half is pleasant enough. If they’d remove everything after the Ursula cave & just use the space for one big monster battle, I’d call it a winner. But people tend to consider it on level with travesties such as Journey Into YOUR Imagination, rather than wanting it to be improved.
I think a significant reason is that not long before the actual ride was announced, Tony Baxter showed off a concept design for a different variation of the attraction. It was well received and most agree it was superior to what was built. So, for most people, it’s not a case of accepting what we got, because we are aware of what could have been. Why do so many people here hate the Little Mermaid ride? I’d LOVE to see an Ursula battle scene in the ride!I agree that’s taking the negativity too far. I find the ride a disappointment, but the first half is pleasant enough. If they’d remove everything after the Ursula cave & just use the space for one big monster battle, I’d call it a winner.
Then Incredicoaster is an A-Ticket, right?I’ve used this before and it rather sad that this now works for several attractions:
The Little Mermaid is a D-Ticket with the size and cost of an E-Ticket defended as a C-Ticket.
I don't even think there is a ticket letter low enough to describe the theming of the incredicoasterThen Incredicoaster is an A-Ticket, right?
AAA-Ticket? The original CS would then be a 0-Ticket (free), because it had even less theming, and what theming there was felt like less than a Six Flags.I don't even think there is a ticket letter low enough to describe the theming of the incredicoaster
