It does and it has more greenery because of its geographical location and based on how the sun hits the land since it faces a different direction than it does at Disneyland

I remember reading something a while back about the difference in how the sun hits both lands. Maybe it’s more that than then the paint schemes being different. As far as greenery there is a Jungle in Adventureland in Anaheim. They could have put more trees if they wanted to.

I guess they wanted it to blend in more as a backdrop to existing Disneyland, while separating it with walls and tunnels and feeling like a totally separate boring park.

What amuses me is that Disneyland had been given a second chance to relaunch Galaxy's Edge, which will fall by the wayside as the first one did. They had the opportunity to claim that the land was not truly finished until the opening of Rise of the Resistance, using the interim to address the issues. This current closure could have been yet another opportunity, on this coast at least. I understand not investing while the park isn't open, but it would behoove them to have improvements ready to debut simultaneous to Universal Hollywood's Nintendo opening The Mario Land really does look impressive and even in the promotional video the disparity shows.
I’m guessing that Disney’s very aware of the bad decisions they’ve made with both Galaxy’s Edge and the SW franchise in general (Alienating millions of fans-with-wallets and creating a dreary, “Meh” land was not their original plan), but the current egos in charge can’t admit when they’re wrong. After the next big shake-up at both Disney and Lucasfilm is when the issues will be addressed.

Realistically speaking, what would happen if we undid even one much-lamented attraction change? How would the general public react to seeing Mission to Mars return? Or the Submarine Voyage getting its sea serpent and mermaids back?

I would ride it once in a while. Unlike now where I ride Nemo once every 7 years after I forget how bad it is. Kind of like Arby’s.

Lisa and I are fans of Arby's, I love a Super with lots of Horsey Sauce, plus a few Potato Cakes. Also, they have great Jamocha Shakes and Apple Turnovers!

Maybe I ordered the wrong thing. Haven’t had any of that stuff. I’ve gone two or three times and all the sandwiches I got were terrible. Plus you know how it goes with Chains, quality varies greatly from location to location.

I was mainly wondering how the general public would react to this change, but thank you. It would be best if they blended both versions.

Don't get me wrong, I get Roast Beef at Jersey Mike's and enjoy them.

But I can get 2 Arby's Super's for the price of one Jersey Mike's.

I also grew up on Arby's, my parent's loved them, so we had them often. Heck, my Mom still loved them until she passed. We would get extra's and freeze them for her to reheat So the taste is a very good memory!

Arby's was a great option...when I lived in a smaller town for three years and there were limited places to go. I don't think it's as bad as people like to say, but it's seldom my first choice.

In fairness, roast beef isn't my favorite, so that's not entirely their fault. I do like the Arby's sauce. The gyro they debuted a few years ago is a reasonably good approximation of one if you don't have any fantastic gyros nearby (they're relatively easy to find in Chicagoland-not sure how easy it is to find them elsewhere).

The best thing at Arby's? The Ghiradelli cookies they debuted several years ago-particularly the caramel-if they're still around. Genuinely some of the best cookies I've had from a restaurant.

The Power-Up Band concept is very cool, it definitely sounds like the type of thing Disney wanted to accomplish with Galaxy's Edge before they cut the budget and removed the interactivity features. I really like the POW block demo, it gives you an actual activity, not just waiving a wand at something, you have to actually try and time things, like an actual game inside of a video game world. I will say I really do dig the style of the land, it really does look like the games brought into the real world, it is very stylized and done incredibly well. I also really really like the portion where you take damage from the Bob-omb and shrink down like you would in game when taking damage, that is such a cool concept and was pulled off very well.
I was gonna say that Universal Creative's done a much better job in terms of interactive toys for their parks. Wands and Power-Up bands equip visitors with what they expect to do in the world they inhabit and the gap between the person and the effect is minimized more (you're actually waving a wand, you're actually punching a block). It's not like the Sorcerers card game over in Magic Kingdom (all I'm doing is holding up a card at a pretty visible hole) or the droids in GE (requires a lot of input and feels pretty random overall).

So I’ve been trying this new thing on this forum. Before I post something I ask myself, “is the exchange that ensues after this post going to suck the life energy out of me?” If yes, I do not post. Seems to be working pretty well.
Started doing this around month 6 or 7 of this pandemic and dipped from commenting from the forums for a bit/reading threads I know would be hot button. Was great for my mental health. 😂

The Mandalorian has almost single handedly turned my opinion of Disney Star Wars around. I actually look forward to the new content being produced... which is more than I could say for anything since TLJ hit theaters.

If only Disneyland got the same treatment, where designers who understand the business and the park are given creative freedom to develop stuff that will actually improve Disneyland as a brand and experience. They've already basically shoved Tony out over the last 20 years- it's definitely time for new creatives to carry the torch.

I'm with you on this. The Mando was better Star Wars than any of the sequels.

Who thought Bill Burr would work in a Star Wars universe and have one of the greatest scenes this year.

Differences like this confuse me though. Sure, the weather is different on the days these pictures were taken, but that one cylinder thing is a completely different color.
