Did one of them drive the tram at Disneyland?I am not sure if anyone mentioned this yet, but two insiders had a lengthy conversation on micechat, and said the earliest Rise of the Resistance could open is October, when you account for everything that must happen and the length of time required.
It is legit! I just read it all! Great info.Did one of them drive the tram at Disneyland?
I accidentally posted in the wrong place.I am not sure if anyone mentioned this yet, but two insiders had a lengthy conversation on micechat, and said the earliest Rise of the Resistance could open is October, when you account for everything that must happen and the length of time required.
Ride this through till Monday? Finally, some good SWL windfall. Still rather have Hungry Bear on the water. It’s the most “Disneyland” addition to the park I’ve seen in a while
I agree. The land feels a little lifeless. At least put some cast members in alien costumes. A few stormtroppers and Chewbacca doesn't cut it.
Ride this through till Monday?
Yeah, Monday wasn’t far enough at all. I think we might coast through till next weekend with this addition. Do you have a Dumbo hedge update for me?At least Wednesday.
They already are reasonable.Don't expect any roaming droids around until the crowds are reasonable in Galaxy's Edge.

Still a recovering AP?Lol I wish I did. They just recently shut down Storybookland for a few weeks so they would have probably done it then if they were going to do anything at all- but haven’t heard anything so I’m guessing nothing.

An eyeball snake in the drinking fountains?Stormtroopers and Chewbacca have been characters in the theme parks for decades. What else they got?
Or ever. Because lawsuits.Don't expect any roaming droids around until the crowds are reasonable in Galaxy's Edge.
Good observations. I’m not surprised that the interactivity was overhyped; that promise has always sounded like typical theme park pr dept. ballyhoo to me. As much as I like much of what I see, the current merchandise emphasis really does give the impression that the entire project exists mainly to sell expensive toys. Hopefully it’ll feel more balanced when the headliner ride finally gets its act together. I wouldn’t count on ever seeing true unescorted free-roaming droids in GE, though. So getting back to 'Galaxy's Edge'....
I've been able to look over some of the assortment of photographs from the land tonight over at a Star Wars fan site ( rebelscum . com ) and what I'm seeing looks terrific.
I recommend taking a look at their collection of photos.
While I have yet to have personally set foot in the land physically and experienced it first hand, I do have some impressions gathered by just looking over the images and hearing from a few CMs.
My early thoughts are this -
It reminds me a lot of Disney's Animal Kingdom in some of the design work and materials used for constructing and embellishing the buildings and hardscape.
But it also reminds me of DAK in another way....early DAK, pre-expansion with Everest and later Pandora -
It's a lot of pretty eye candy, beautiful settings, lots of authentic details, but ( seemingly at this early stage ) little substance and little to do.
Lots of 'consumables' and too few 'observables' if that makes sense.
What I mean by that is there is a great effort focusing on the fun themed foods and merchandise....but seemingly less effort in regards to the entertainment offerings.
Yes, I'm aware of the entertainment cuts and the removal of the originally proposed dining show establishment, but something is 'missing'....and I'm not talking about the delayed RotR.
I think what is missing is more atmospheric elements.
This is 'Star Wars'.
It seems to me we should be seeing free roaming droids, various aliens or creatures roaming about ( as originally proposed ) and....well, more interactive elements.
The 'interactivity' of the land was hyped up and anticipated by many.
Even the early press releases when the land was announced talked about such elements regarding the outcome of your skill on the Falcon Attraction, 'bargaining' with Dok in his den, 'interactive' Force infused lightsabers interacting with elements within the land, and the like.
Perhaps these elements will come to be at a later stage, but it's a element that was much talked about in the lead up to the Grand Opening and to date I have heard and seen very little regarding it.
The land does look very nice, but it feels a little 'empty'.
Like a carefully constructed stage made out of eye catching stage furnishings, but with no actors to flesh out the story.
I'm sure I will have a different opinion once experiencing it eventually, but at the moment those are my initial impressions.
I love the look of the Cantina inside , and the effort to make the land look 'lived in' is excellent.
Just wishing I was seeing more other worldly beings strolling around and bringing the 'world' more alive.

Do you expect any less from Disney? As much as I like much of what I see, the current merchandise emphasis really does give the impression that the entire project exists mainly to sell expensive toys
Not lately. But a few years ago they did build a Radiator Springs that had zero emphasis on expensive toy-buying “experiences.”Do you expect any less from Disney?
Still a recovering AP?
