The news today is why if Disney were to build a Villains land at DRL it should be at DCA. DCA allows Disney to go a little more edgy.

True but I don’t think the land will be edgy enough for that to matter.

Thematically in general I think Villains, Frozen, more Star Wars and Moana would feel more organic at DL. Zootopia, Monsters, Toy Story, most Pixar in general and more Marvel work better at DCA. There are some exceptions as for example I could see some Marvel working in Tomorrowland. Not to say a Villains land couldn’t work at Simba/ DCA. It’ll probably just come down to practicality. Which park needs the investment at the time or which plot is more feasible. Considering that most of the above would be built on the DL or DCA DL forward plots and not DL or DCA proper I don’t think the fit matters as much.

The difference is small, but noticeable within Disney parameters to be worth it. Just comparing the Halloween festivities at DCA vs DL/MK and the difference is enough.

Wow. See told ya. It doesn’t matter cause Disney has no intention of going that edgy anyway. So they may as well put it in the most practical or necessary location.

I wanted something edgier too. Actually less corny is probably the better way to put it. Something that doesn’t feel like that corny show at DHS. My biggest question is how this impacts the aesthetic of the land that seemed to be very much based around Maleficents castle/ coaster.

I get that for sure. I’m just saying I don’t think there is anything at Oogie Boogie that’s too edgy for DL. The tone and some of the sound effects at BVS might feel a bit unnatural at Main Street but it’s only because we’re not used to it.

I think it comes down to the prioritization to preserve the true essence of DL and its opening act vs DCA/ BVS. Makes more sense to tinker with the secondary sand box/ seasonal event park. DL stands on its own two feet.

Yes they view the parks differently but my point was they didn’t put Oogie boogie in DCA because it was too edgy for DL. They put it there for the reasons I mentioned in my last post. Regardless, a Villains land located in an expansion pad closer to the Lululemon building in DTD than Main Street has nothing to do with any of it.

I'd put it at DCA. It needs more attractions even after the four new ones. It would be the anti-fantasyland. DCA needs more classic Disney characters and less Pixar anyway.

Nah, the pink they chose for the 50th was vile in person and in photos. Just a very obvious mismatch.

The original color scheme is much better.
