The Magic Of Disney Animation closing?

Pick a colour, any colour...

Every area that I've heard was considered for large-scale change over the last 3 years. No guarantee which will make the final chop. Other areas could be included but I can't personally confirm.

That's how potentially far-reaching and thorough the makeover could be. Note I said "could".

With the exception of Echo Lake, I can't figure out what those areas contain, unfortunately... :p

Red is Backlot Tour
Green is Lights Motor Action, and some of Streets of America
Light Blue is the rest of Streets of America except for the Muppet Area
Darker Blue is backstage of Indiana Jones and Star Tours along with that restaurant between the two
The Pinks are Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, and Beauty and the Beast
Orange is Jack Sparrow and One Man's Dream
Purple is Backstage Area
Yellow is the Magic of Disney Animation Building
I have no clue what Grey is maybe new entrance area?

And that matters why? It's still a Disney resort which people are still paying a small fortune to stay at. Would it be okay to shove it in to the Contemporary since that isn't a value resort? I'm not understanding your point.

I agree it should be kept in the park as having an attraction in a resort seems kinda odd, though it would fit in AoA given the theme and I wouldn't have a problem if they did. :)
Even though Disney sells each of the resorts as they're all equal and that everyone has the same benefits as staying on property, each resort category has what they internally call product differentiators. This is why Art or Animation pool doesn't have a water slide (because values don't) and why Port Orleans doesn't have the Princess Tiana character breakfast (because moderates don't have character dining). It's the little things like that that allow them to justify the inflation of prices between deluxe to moderate to value

I'm glad I randomly went into One Man's Dream the last time I was in the Studios. I hadn't been in there in a long time and wanted out of the heat ... it's a great exhibit and I'll be sorry to see it go. I think in the grand scheme of the makeover, it does need to go.

I'd like it to be moved as well but it doesn't seem likely.
If they did move it, Disney Springs could be a good home for a "Walt Disney Archives Museum" type of deal.

Oh please. They're removing a museum exhibit that was supposed to be temporary in the first place, and that makes him a terrible person and a bad leader?

An exhibit about WALT DISNEY HIMSELF. The whole reason the company he runs exists. If there were at the very least some sort of confirmation that they were moving it to the Magic Kingdom it'd be okay, but this, combined with the fact that Walt's name was removed from the Disney logo...

And honestly, it needs to go if that part of the park ever has hope to be developed properly and to it's full potential.

We can maybe hope it gets moved elsewhere on property, but it's time is over at DHS if the park is to progress on.

We don't know that they aren't creating something larger and less obviously temporary than One Man's Dream.

You can't go five feet in the Disney parks without seeing or hearing about Walt. He's everywhere in the parks. And really, if you think Iger has some weird agenda to "remove Walt from the company", why would they have made a major feature film about him? I think you're being excessively paranoid.

I definitely understand the sentiment of people seeing the importance of One Man's Dream but I think it's time for it to go. The exhibits are nice and it would be nice to have the film available on digital download or bluray but the majority of the display is more corporate synergy for the other Disney divisions, which I am a fan of too, than a tribute to the contributions of one man. If people are really devastated of the closure of this attraction then support The Walt Disney Family Museum in San Fransisco. They really need the support and it truly is a great honor to Walt Disney and his contributions to animation, story telling, and business management. It's built with a daughter's love for her father and not a corporation trying to control the narrative. It also is by no means whitewashed as it does delve into the more controversial topics like Ub Iwerks drawing Mickey Mouse, the studio strike, and walt's involvement with the Un-American Activities hearings.

Wait wait wait...

Let me get this straight...people are upset that they are removing the Walt tribute that is currently in a park that he had zero to do with? I could understand if this was in MK or even Epcot..but DHS (MGM) was Eisners baby...One Mans Dream should have never been there in the first place. No..not trolling as I do enjoy the exhibit..but I am also aware that its run its course and could have been better placed somewhere more appropriate.
