The "Hurry up and reopen the Adventurers Club Thread" per Lee's request.

As much as I would like to think that the PTB decided to fling the Club's doors open again...I have to be cautiously skeptical.
Much of the cast communicate regularly via the Yahoo group, and there has not been one iota of indication that the Club would be opening to the public. Surely word would have gotten out...

Anyway...a little advance notice would have been good. I would so have been burning up the turnpike to get up there.

I agree Lee something seems very odd that we didn't hear a word about this. But I can also understand not giving us notice because of how many people may show up to try to get back in. So I would say anyone who plans to swing by tonight that would be willing to take a few people's numbers to let them know if anything happens would be nice. I would hate for anyone of us locals who would be able to get there to miss out.

Wow, someone has a grudge. Nothing was misrepresented. Even if it is a private party, the club is more open then it has been since it closed, and as far as my knowledge goes, nobody has yet confirmed that this is a private party. Maybe we should find out before you accuse someone for misinformation.

I want to be very clear. I used the word if the blog knowingly misreresented the situation! I hold no grudges and personally do not have too much interest if the club stays or goes!

But, hundreds if not thousands do and if is manipulating those fans than yes, Disney should treat the blog accordingly. It would be very irresponsible of the "reporter".

I hope that is clear enough for you.

Just to clarify a few things, and yes I represent that site hopefully since its already been brough up Steve won't mind me clarifying a few things. We did have a staff member at the Adventure's Club tonight he got in without being asked if he was a part of a group. There were library shows of some sort going on (this has not been happening as a part of private events). Also, we are told there were cast members directing people to the AC agian not asking if they were a part of group "XYZ". We are assuming with the high capicity levels due to the marathon and other factors someone deicded to open the AC. Please understand we would never report anything we know to not be true. If and when we get more details on this development we will report them on our site as soon as we can. I hope that clarifies our report, I for one am excited that the AC is getting some use no matter for how short a time.

Thanks this is how it should have been handled from the start. Bravo.

OMG, I was at Downtown Disney last night!!!! I walked by the Adventurers Club around 7:30 and there wasn't any indication of anything going on! And I left to go to the stupid Market Street Cafe in Celebration! ARRRGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:brick: :brick: :brick: :brick: :brick: :brick: :brick: :brick: :brick: :brick:

I'll go back tonight with the hope that the same thing might happen again, but I'm not optimistic.

Please understand sometimes we get a little defensive as sometimes we tend to get bashed, but I can speak as an official voice of that site, sorry if Matt came across to harsh.

The bottom line is we still don't have any more info at this time. We aren't trying to get anyone excited but one of our top staff members reported this as he was there and we felt people would want know.
Thanks!!:)

I thought that the Cast had either been reassigned or left for Universal/greener pastures.

So did they hire a new cast for AC?:veryconfu

This is nothing more than my own theory, but if Disney was considering opening the club as a stand alone attraction to buoy DD, perhaps they wanted to get a gauge on general public interest? It would make sense-- the fanboy contingent would certainly show up on the few test nights and throw off any research they were doing. In which case they'd want to keep it quiet.

...but maybe I've just been watching too many X-Files

I really believe in this new type of media and believe a small percentage of web sites like yours will thrive and prosper in the future. It will be very much a "survival of the fittest" thing and reporting information responsibly is Rule # 1. I was an early reader of your web site and hope you have as bright a future as WDWMAGIC. :)

I agree this is the other thought we have been bouncing around

I see your point, but how would the general public even know that the opportunity to see AC was even an option when PI is a ghost town.

Kind of hard to judge General Public Interest with nobody going through the gates to begin with!

Thanks I appericate and we agree with responsibility with this stuff and do try, its just always an uphill battle when you get a story like this......I don't want this thread to turn into that though back on track..............Kungaloosh!

My thought is that Pleasure Island is dead, but that they are looking at general walk-in traffic. Using it as a predictor for the same when PI is replaced with pin trading and T-shirt stores.

The only thing is I know it has been packed due to the marathon so if any week would be good to do a test when no one was expecting it this would be it....or maybe not who knows....hope to find out more soon.
