No, Test Track, only the additions/changes that degrade the Disney name concern us. (Read first post and subsequent in the world view I just mentioned.) Sit tight, TestTrack. :)

Scott - I will try to get SaveDisney involved. But for right now, that's not the first goal. :)

Ya know Grizz, as much as I hate to say it, saying something here won't get ANYTHING done. Personally, I think it's dropped down to the level of disagreeing with any new addition. I know you love, as do I, the parks, but what good does just complaining do? We need action.

The disagreement here is about knockin' down the one attraction Walt requested to stay put! Additions are fine but Disney's single request IMO, is much more important!

Ok, cool, I understand now. But as someone who has ridden Soarin many times, I can say that this is the best thing to happen to The Land since they expanded the food court there. It's a really good ride, but any way, I'll sit back and watch.

Agreed - it is a good ride, but the fact that Disney is ONLY making clones these days - or at least, mostly - and not retheming them to where they are putting them is one of the issues discussed.

See the Land thread (I liked it in the first post) for more info on that.

Grizz, I thought I would make sure you know to stand strong and don't let anyone get in your way or put you down for what you're doing. You're a great man and I know something will and must be done about this...NOW!

They wouldn't dare lay a finger on COP... it's going to keep turning for centuries to come. Even if that means donating it to the Smithsonian or something. But COP will not be closed down and destroyed.

Not even the Smithsonian! Walt wanted this in his American parks, and he's gonna have that wish granted!

Agreed. ;)

I'm just opting for the lesser of two evils... ;)

In reading the "Mission Statement" of Grizz, I have a thought. Where is all of this support for the classics when we all debate the issue of thrill rides versus the classics? I myself have been very vocal since joining that we should try to maintain the classic rides. But just mention Tomorrowland Speedway, or Country Bear Jamboree, and let the chorus begin. You'll hear everyone out there say how we should replace these "kiddie" attractions with more exciting coasters and dark rides. Or even mention Peter Pan's Flight, or Snow White's Scary Adventures. I am in complete agreement with Grizz, but I just wonder where all of you have been in other threads. But don't jump on the bandwagon to get on our good side. If you truly feel this way, let Disney know it. As a matter of fact, why don't we start an email campaign?

Hey Grizz, any suggestions for the quickest route to someone in mgmt. with Disney for an email campaign?

Yes. . . I will contact you and others in the coming weeks with some great new ways.

grizz the idea of changing SSE has long since been done away with! Also there is still a chance that after 50th celebration of DL is over Soarin will get a new unique movie. After all the attraction is not called Soarin' over California! Just Soarin'. It is also important to note that Cinderella's surprise celebration is not all that popular so it would make sense for the time being to bring in a more popular show to give them time to make a new show with a better guest satisfactory rate.

You also have to remember that the TOT at DL is not the same as the one here in Florida.

You should also note that the imagineers are hard at work on all the new stuff going into the old 20k area.

While I don't agree with every thing that Disney management does I feel that they are upholding the Disney tradition.

Yes! Me too! :sohappy:

Grizz, you are a great leader and I can't wait to see what you have in mind for helping save the Walt Disney Company. I only wish that there was more I could do to help...

It was cancelled a while back, but they are now looking at it again.

And as for Smithsonian, that's a cheap giveaway. CoP was designed to be a living tribue to be kept in the parks. That's what Walt wanted, anyway.

(Isn't this WALT DISNEY World??)

CoP is a museum piece and should be protected. It certainly does not belong in Tomorrowland. CoP's continuation in Tomorrowland mocks what Walt was trying to establish with DL and The Magic Kingdom. It's just a shame that Disney has kept this attraction open and it reflects poorly upon the entire organization.

However, I don't know if the Smithsonian would be interested. If not, then perhaps WDW could one day open up a 5th park devoted entirely to historical attractions and preserve and protect these time honored giants.

"Yesterland" at WDW! Or "The Legendary Years" at WDW! Also, I've read that Walt never wanted his likeness to be made into an AA. However, I think we will need to break that request in the near future. With the advent of "Lucky", you know that in just a few years Disney will be able to build human biped figures that walk and talk.

Instead of having a Pal Mickey, at the new historical park you could rent a life size walking and talking Walt that would give you a personal tour. He'd take you and your family on a magical tour and show you all the original (old) attractions (such things as Mr. Toad, CoP, Trip to the Moon, Skyway, 20k, CBJ and Jungle Cruise). "Pal Walt" might even throw in a few cuss words or smoke a cigarette while he escorts you around the property or talk about his idiot nephew!

To me, that's progress. I don't want to continue to see an old GE ad that promotes the virtues of electricity, especially in "light" of the fact that Florida has many of the worst polluting power plants in the nation!

Museum??? I beg to differ.

In that case, Haunted Mansion and Pirates. Out you go!
You're missing the point. Haunted Mansion and Pirates are timeless. The others I mentioned are either gone or way behind the curve and require replacement.

Wouldn't it be cool to have "Pal Walt" take you into the Penny Arcade?

Perhaps, I am missing the point! Do you think CoP is at all contemporary?
