The Foodie "Canadian Themed" Musical of MillerPoppins

So here we are, home already. I don't remember ever being as bummed after a trip as I am with this one and I attibute that to it being so amazingly awesome. I believe this, along with the 2008 trip with my Mom, was at the top of the Disney trip list. I was so afraid that after months of planning, something was going to go wrong. Aside from one minor set back (more on that in a bit), the trip was perfect. So let's get started!

So to recap, this is my 9th trip to this World of ours and my boyfriend's very first. Tim has literally been all over the globe, seeing everything from the pyramids to rainforests to glaciers. When I heard that he had never been to WDW, I insisted that I would be the first to take him. And while he was very excited, he never wanted to see any footage, photos or anything Disney related except for the animated classics before we got there. It made it very difficult for me. However, it paid off greatly in the end. And as much I believe I have converted him, he's not completely on board with blogging on being on "Disney sites". With that being said, his photo will not be posted. You'll have to settle for photos of me and some awesome scenic ones he took.

So our trip started the night before as he scrambled to pack and I had been pretty much ready for a week. After he zipped up his case, we went to our local sushi joint for a quick and non messy dinner. After rolling out, we had minor food coma and crashed. Wake up call came quite early though at 3:30am and we headed out the door. To my knowledge at that point, we were set to go! I was so excited and could barely contain myself as we headed though security and stopped for a quick coffee before heading to our gate. As I was waiting in line, I was digging though my bag and could not find my phone...

To back track, two years ago on the night before the trip, my cell phone was stolen enroute to my parents house. I had to spend two frantic hours trying to cancel service and have a new phone sent to All Star Movies. It was an experience I did not want to repeat. However, here I was on my vacation and it would be the second Disney trip that I had a phone dilenma before I even left. Thankfully, Tim had his so I wasn't as upset. What could I do?

After a quick two and a half hour flight, we were in paradise! We marched right up to the DME, boarded and were off within 10 minutes with one other family on the way to All Star Music. We couldn't help but crack up though that the song from the Canadian Pavilion movie was on in the bus. Tim is from Canada and our dinner that night was in Le Cellier. Thoughout the trip, Canada seemed to be quite prominent through other guests, shirts and themes. After our little video, we were there! Our front desk agent Dianne was extremely gracious and granted every request I had. A king sized bed in the Jazz Inn and it was ready!!! What more could I want??? We headed to our room and as we walked out towards the pool, I started getting emotional. We were finally here..after two years of waiting, months of planning and lots of saving pennies.

We were thrilled with the room, changed into "Florida" clothes and headed to Epcot. We were ready for some Food and Wine Festival goodness and Future World Fun!

We headed to Soarin, got fast passes and decided to grab lunch from Sunshine Seasons. I was a bit apprehensive about the crowds. The place was packed! I ran though my head thinking what could be going on that I wasn't aware of? I had come down during the same time a couple years ago and it was NOT like this. I tried not to let it bother me and looked forward to some yummy Sunshine Seasons goodness. Tim got the Pork Chop and Caramel Apple cake for dessert while I got the Grilled Salmon and Key Lime Tart.

We had a run in with Stitch who was mad that Tim didn't have a Stitch pin. We moved on to our Space Mountain FP's and had our final run through Space. It was awesome!

From there, it was lunch time. We headed over to Columbia Harbor House where we planned to eat lunch. Both of us wanted Fish & Chips the day before at Epcot but we couldn't do due to dinner and the other booths. And I wanted another dose of my chicken breast nuggets. So we figured we'd kill two birds with one stone and hit up CHH.

Once we got there, I had mentioned that Tim could opt to get the chicken/fish combo if he wanted. He ordered it and then I mentioned that I was surprised he actually did. He misunderstood that I TOLD him to order it. So we told the cast member we'd like to switch it to just the fish. She gladly gave him an extra piece of fish to his chicken and fish which was great!

The little apple cobbler thingers were so much better then I expected. They had that great McDonald's Apple Pie taste to them. And of course, the chicken and fish were amazing!

Completely full, we made our way over to Splash Mountain and Thunder for one last time. As always, both were so much fun! We hit up Pirates one last time and then made our way grudgingly towards the front of the park. I could feel it building in my chest. As we approached Partners circle, we each took a turn getting our last shot in front of the Castle.

The pictures were taken and we made our way down Main Street. The Block Party was starting and they starting playing "It's the Time Of Your Life" and I just lost it. The tears starting coming and couldn't even try to hide it. Tim wrapped his arm around me and kept saying, "Honey it was perfect. We'll be back I promise". And that made me even more upset. It WAS perfect and I knew we'd be back but for most of my trips, I don't know when that will be.

I wanted to stop in the Emporium to grab a photo album for us. As I was paying for my album, the cast member asked "Would you like this shipped back to your room?" This, to my horror, caused me to cry/answer "No because we are leaving now". So sad and embarrassing at the same time! As we wandered out, Tim handed me a bag and said this is for you. I held on to it until we got on a bus, which happened oh too quickly. We waved goodbye to the MK and made our sad ride back. Tim had picked me up a Mike Wazowski mug to cheer me up that I had commented on all week. His response was, "This was to make you stop crying". LOL I felt like I was about 5.

We arrived to the Resort and wandered into the Food Court. We had two snack credits left and two counter services. We were told we could trade in our counter services for snacks. So we attempted to load up on Minnie's Bake Shop cookies but that didn't count. So we got two bottles of water, two rice crispy treats and two Mickey's Premium Bars to eat then. It was another first as I had never had one and of course neither did Tim. My Mom has loved them for years so I had one in her honor and to get a photo of Tim having his. After making one more lap back through the gift shop, the "Bad Bus" arrived.

We sadly loaded up, climbed on and dozed off at the other resort stops. Shortly after, we were at MCO and on our way back to Jersey after one of the best trips I have ever had. :sohappy:

Yeah he really is a sweetie! My Birthday was just yesterday and he ended up getting me two more pins! My Canada shirt is a red one with short sleeves that has Canada written across it and a maple leaf on either side.

This is embarrassing how long it took me to wrap this thing up, but the Holidays have come and I have been a bit preoccupied.

Ok so to wrap things up...

We definitely want to go back again in October. The weather was perfect and by perfect I mean not one drop of rain! However, we'd push it back another week to avoid some of the crowds. And to avoid the Columbus Day/Canadian Thanksgiving Rush.

I feel that everyone in this world should see Disney World at least once in their life. And I feel that it truly is an experience that by no mean is cheap. However, remember that just because you are in Disney, doesn't mean that you can drop your manners, consideration and respect towards rules and procedures in this place. I am talking completely to you Brazilian Tour Groups!!!! :fork:

Going to the Food & Wine Festival on weekdays is an absolute MUST DO. I will never, ever go to it on a Saturday or Sunday ever again. You will be able to take advantage of so many more booths and really enjoy yourself more then if it's a complete and total mob scene.

This was the first time that I did the Dining Plan and I will probably never go down there without it again. True, I did not need half of the desserts that we are entitled to while down there. And we struggled to use up two counter services that we had left. But going down there without having to worry about taking extra money for food or if you would have enough outweighed everything else. We tried so many restaurants that we probably would not have gone to without this plan. California Grill is going to be a must do now every time we go. Same with Ohana. I would love to go back to Le Cellier and give it another shot because aside from the entree, everything else was amazing. Mama Melrose completely blew us out of the water with how good it was.

If you are staying at any of the All Star Resorts and do not like waiting in ridiculously long lines for the bus to your resort, remember to hop on one of the other buses and just walk over to yours. We saved ourselves some time with this.

And finally, Tim has completely crossed over to the "Dark Side". He has bought himself another lanyard to hold all his pins and has already started putting coins back into our Disney jar. He stated that we would wait until 2012 to go back, however I totally busted him telling a friend of ours that he wants to go back every year now. FANTASTIC! My plan has worked...:goodnevil MUHAHAHAHA!!!!

So thanks for reading my report and I really can't go wait to go back and do this all over again!
