The Dream That You Wish Will Come True : A February Engagement TR

Hi lovies! I am so happy to finally be getting to this TR and share this story with you all! Prior to this trip my than boyfriend and I took our last trip to WDW in November 2012 for my birthday. I had hoped the entire trip we would get engaged than but sadly, it didn't happen. The day we left to come home I made a wish in Cinderella's Wishing Well..

Little did I know that just a little over 2 short months later the dream that I wished, did come true! So without further ado, here we go!

For those of you who don't know, Ryan and I have been together for 4 years, this trip was to celebrate our anniversary and was Ryan's idea. We first came to WDW together in February 2010 for our 1 year anniversary and have been obsessed ever since; we are current passholders, and yes, we live in NJ! This TR will have TONS of pictures and lots of pixie dust, I hope you all enjoy reading this as much as I am enjoying reliving it with you! xox

February 2010 (our 1st anniversary and 1st trip together)

November 2012 (our last trip together)

Day 1 - February 3, 2013
When we booked this trip we didn't realize at the time that today was in fact Superbowl Sunday. Normally that wouldn't matter except that my 49ers were finally back in the big game! I have been a huge fan since I was just a little girl in the early 90s and I had been waiting years for them to get back to the Superbowl. Ryan was working until 2:00 and our flight was at 6:00, just in time for kick-off, wonderful! I got dressed in my 9ers best, which allowed me to meet lots of "friends" at the airport, flew through security and we waited at the gate. Thankfully, we were on JetBlue so I was able to watch (and cry while doing it). JetBlue also had $1 drinks for the game, woo hoo! By the time we were about to land the blackout had happened, and well, you all know what happened, we lost. I was so hoping up to see Colin Kapernick in the parade at MK the next day and Ryan was hoping it wasn't Joe Flacco because I find him attractive (LOL).

Anyway, he made our way to ME and hoped the bus for Pop. We had stayed here on our first visit together and since it was our 4 year anniversary trip we decided there was no better place than to stay where it all started. We checked in to the 80s section on the 1st floor, put our stuff in the room at grabbed something to eat in the food court. Before bed Ryan kept asking me where we were going in the morning, I said Magic Kingdom obviously because I wanted to be there for the Superbowl Parade, he said good and off to sleep we went. At the time I had no clue what tomorrow would bring, but boy oh boy, surprises were in store!

After lunch we headed over to Mermaid, because I obviously needed to ride it another 30 times! We stopped before going in to take a shot with the photopass photographer and we got this little surprise visitor!

Than we took a peek at the mine train construction

We decided that we better get to Main Street because the superbowl parade was supposed to start shortly. We took a seat right on Main Street outside the Emporium and waited....and waited....and waited...and WAITED ! Apparently Joe's flight had been delayed several times and they kept pushing back the time. As we waited a couple was getting their picture taken in the middle of the street, the photographer yelled at me "HEY, PRINCESS, COME HERE" so I went over. Once the photographer saw my engaged button he called for Ryan, the other couple had gotten engaged that day as well! So now here we are, right in the middle of Main Street, which is line with people waiting for Joe Flacco and a parade having a full on photo shoot. All eyes were on us and it was so embarrassing and so fun at the same time. Here are a few pics from our "shoot" I wish I knew what the other couple's pictures looked like!

After we took the pics we thought we were finished but the photographer grabbed me and Ryan and I took a few alone, a big wig CM came up and told the photographer we needed to finish up because the parade was getting started (after it had been pushed back 3 times, and by hours, apparently he got a police escort and came right from MCO)

I love these pics, they are some of my favorite from the trip! The photographer was so creative and made it so much fun for us and it made me feel so special. Who cares if all those people were watching, right?!?

Two ladies had held our things and our seats on the curb so we scurried back before Joe made his way. Now, I thought this was going to be some big whoopla and boy was I wrong. No confetti, no streamers, just a ed off looking quarterback riding in a convertible. Not what I expected but Joe Flacco did look right at me, smile, and wave....sorry Joe, you were a few hours late, I'm engaged now LOL

So after that "parade" the Celebrate A Dream Come True parade was right behind it and even though we have seen it a thousand times, we stayed and watched. That damn song is so catchy I am singing it in my head right now ::singing:: when you close your eyes and realize any dream is pos-si-ble!!!

We headed off to Storybook Circus, I wanted to ride Dumbo but didn't want to wait so we stopped to watch the Giggle Gang instead. Ryan being a drummer, enjoyed the musicians, and the clowns put on a cute little show.

Since we were in the area, ya know it was time for me to ride Mermaid again LOL (I know, I'm an addict)

We decided to head out of MK for the day but wanted to cash in our free ice cream ticket...Mickey bars for everyone!!

We left MK and headed to the TTC, we were headed to Hollywood Studios. On our way to the ferry we were stopped by two CM's who see our buttons and they played a little game with us and they gave us. We were each given a pirate package, it was super cute, even if it was for little kids! we both got necklaces and a few little pirate trinkets wrapped in pirate bandanas!

I don't remember doing much there, I am pretty positive we only went to watch Fantasmic! When we arrived we could hear them announcing there was standing room only left, womp womp, but lucky once we got into the theater seats were available on the far far left side, so we headed there.

We did the first seating of Fantasmic! because we had dinner reservations after 9 so we needed travel time. I consider myself a professional walker, you should see me weaving in and out of strollers and the hoards of people trying to get out of the theater. I swear I am going to open up my own walking school, we were out of there in minutes! So to the buses we went and took the bus to MK, once we arrived we jumped the resort monorail and headed to 'Ohana. What better way to celebrate our engagement dinner, right??!

We had arrived about 30 minutes before our reservation so we checked in and went over to the Tambu Lounge. I had my usual Blue Glowtini (I now own about 10 of those glowing ice cubes) and Ryan had a Captains Mai Tai, we were finished before our pager went off. Dinner was fantastic, as it always is at 'Ohana! Before dessert the entertainer asked if anyone was celebrating birthdays etc...when he called for newly engaged, seen us and called us up! We were the only ones, he asked us to tell our story, we did and everyone applauded. Than he played and sang Can't Help Falling In Love for us as we danced in the middle of 'Ohana. I could care less who was watching, I started to cry, I was just so happy! After dinner we went back to the bar and had another drink (oh boy, lightweight over here). We went down to the bus loop, because the parks were all closed now there was only one way to get back to Pop, via DTD.

It was freezing out and we struck up a nice conversation with a couple who was from North Dakota, they were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary and it was their first trip to WDW. After 25ish minutes a bus finally arrived we got off at DTD and decided to run in to Raglan Road for another drink. I swear we were only in there for less than an hour, we sat at the bar in the corner by ourselves and celebrated in our own little world. A band was playing some song where everyone kept yelling out FREE BEER, it was pretty hilarious. We paid our tab and ran back to the bus loop, it was freezing and I was just a little (or a lot) tipsy. The bus arrived just as we did and we were the only two on the bus back to Pop, it had been a long yet amazing day. I could not have been any happier!

Awww, you got me crying over here reading about dancing at Ohana!! :( They are happy tears though hun, so no worries!! :) And yes, definitely a great way to end the day!!

I have come to realize that when they say the Super Bowl MVP, or World Series MVP or whoever will be at Disney for a "parade" they really mean just the grand marshall for the parade. We saw a baseball player (Barry Bonds) back in 2001 and... *yawn* boring! I hope no one actually ever makes a special trip just to see THAT or else they would be totally let down!! They should throw em up on the float with Mickey and Minnie, give them a tambourine or something and make em dance! THAT would be worth watching!! lol

Thank you, thank you! A happy belated 5th anniversary to you and your DH. I don't blame you for not waiting, they pushed it back soo many times. I felt bad for all the people in their Ravens gear who spent most of the day waiting for him!

Congratulations on your engagement!!!

Day 3 - February 5, 2013

After an amazing first full day in the world we decided to sleep in a little before heading out in the morning. We decided to go to Epcot to continue our celebration. It was another beautiful day, not a cloud in the sky. On our walk to the bus stop I took a few pictures.

We arrive with about 1500 15 year old Brazilian girls screaming and chanting, oh boy! We scurried in to this beautiful site!

First stop was running in to the Land to get fastpasses for Soarin, which we did, but of coarse they weren't until later that afternoon. With that out of the way there was only one place for me to go, to see Figment of coarse! I know people are always trashing the ride and I know it's not the greatest but I've loved Figment since I was just a little girl, I even wore my Figment bow today!

After our journey into imagination we started the stroll to World Showcase. They were setting up the Oz playground for the festival and we were trying to peek through the screens, it looked like so much fun!

I snapped some shots in Canada, the landscaping here is just gorgeous!

It was just about lunch time and I hadn't had breakfast, we wanted to do something new, but what? Since we really fell in love with Morocco on our last trip we decided to have lunch at Restaurant Marrakesh. Until we walked back there I never realized how far back into the pavilion it was. We didn't have reservations but we were seated immediately. The inside was pretty empty on 3 or 4 other parties.

They had a lunch special for $19.99, it came with appetizer, entree, and dessert. First coarse was a salad and bastilla. The bastilla is almost like an egg roll, I don't remember what was really in there but I know it was mostly pastry and was delish (and I'm a "picky" eater)

Even Pascal wanted some!

We both rehad chicken shiskabobs for lunch which came with grilled vegetables and rice, all of it was awesome! A few pieces of my chicken were a little pink, although because of the lighting in there I wasn't positive, just to be on the safe side I didn't eat those pieces. Otherwise, it was great!

During out meal to musicians came out to play and it really added to the atmosphere. Being a drummer, Ryan was so into this. Next a belly dancer came out and she was beautiful. I've taken belly dancing classes before at my gym and let me tell you that ish is HARD! They make it look so effortless and have amazing fluidity...me...not so much LOL

For dessert we had a plate of assorted baklava. The only one we didn't eat was the pistachio, the other two were so yummy!

Lunch was a great, we had gone to a new restaurant and really enjoyed it; I recommend trying it. After lunch we went around the bend to the shop so I could get my henna. I've gotten the same thing the past 4 trips! I ended up getting more but that will come later in the trip. These woman do such an amazing job!

Is it bad that I didn't even know where the restaurant was in Morocco? The food looks excellent though!

I love your henna and your bow!

I've never been to Restaurant Marrakesh! Definitely looks pretty good! Except I'm not going to lie I thought that black olive in the salad looked like an eyeball! Silly me :)

That henna tattoo looks beautiful!

Just found your report and catching up. First….Congratulations!

Love all of your photopass pictures, especially the one with the heart…so cute. Your henna looks really pretty, I love that they added the glitter…not sure if its intentional, but it totally reminds me the little mermaid with the colors and design :)
