That stinks. At least there's a few things I can get from Basin and their employees bring out the ingredient book if you say you have allergies
Yeah, we discovered when I was elementary school age that Basin and my skin did not mix. Unscented body wash for the, ahem, high sweat areas, otherwise just water everywhere else. Unscented cleansers on the face. No bubble baths, bath salts, etc. Lotions should be unscented. Hair care products should only have a light scent and I run a fan while applying them. No perfumes or spray deodorant (for anyone in my house).

I avoid a lot of products marked "natural" because they're more likely to have something I'm allergic to in them.

Thanks, but that's not happening either. ;) Think I'll just stick with dry hair, and call it a day. :p
Hi MinnieM: I have been experimenting with hair oils too. The one I absolutely loved, I can't find anywhere. It is called, Pearl Drops, and was light and didn't make my hair too oily. I have been trying various ones at TJMaxx, and have found a coconut oil one that is just okay. Still looking for the one like Pearl drops. Happy hunting and please share if you find a good one. I will too :)

I want to try another foundation, as my usual Clinique is getting way too expensive for me. It's 31.00 now with tax and delivery!!!!
Has anyone tried to replace clinique foundation with another one that works for them? Thanks in advance.

I don't know of one but if you type the name of the foundation and Dupe into Mr Google you may find an answer. Good luck

Haven't used liquid foundation in over a year now. Switched, instead, to a lighter powder foundation. It's Neutrogena Mineral Sheers Foundation, and in the color featured in the ad. (I don't shop at Rite Aid, but copied the image so that you could see what it looks like.)

Anyway, I hope you can find whatever type of foundation is best for you. I was surprised to read how much Clinique costs these days (I used that brand a long time ago, and of course, it was cheaper back then! ;) )

Thank you so much, MinnieM!
I definitely will give the Neutrogena Mineral foundation powder a try. I usually just use a little foundation and then powder so this might be what I'm looking for. I have sensitive skin and some makeups won't work for me, but the mineral based ones might be okay.
I tried Mary Kay once but was allergic to it. Found out that it is bee wax based, so that was the problem. I'll let you know when I try it:)

If you do ever decide to try it, use a (dry) sponge applicator, as it goes on best using that. (Note: They used to enclose one in the base of the compact; but I've noticed on my past few purchases, that they've cut that out. Ugh. Must be a cost-saving thing for them. I'd rather they cut out the mirror that's inside the bottom of the compact, and return the sponge applicator inside, instead.) 🤦‍♀️

Giant shout out for the hair oil posts! I always wind up sleeping for a day after getting my flu shot but instead of just sleeping I marinated my hair while doing so:joyfull: ps will try and get my other project pan and repressing pics up this week

I have a small problem. Most of these were bought after my nail salon closed. That being said even with al the nail supplies I bought I've saved more than I would have spent at the salon:joyfull:

Hi Minnie: Just an update on my makeup dilema, LOL.
I found that the Neutragena was too dry for my skin, and we live in a very cold climate with lots of dry air all winter.
So, I went back to an old standby that I first used as a teenager, Covergirl. It is light and covers great and the liquid helps keep my dry skin hydrated. I can't believe I am back to Covergirl???!! 🥴
I will keep the powder foundation for the hot summer months. (who am I kidding? Our "warm summer week") 🤣😂 The search has been kind of fun though!

Glad that you found something that works well for your skin. Brand names aren't important -- the product is and it looks like you found a winner! And I'm sure the price is way more reasonable than what Clinique was charging for its product. (P.S.: Sorry the mineral foundation I use didn't work out for you, but with makeup, you never know until you try something new if it's o.k.)

Congrats on finding something that works for you. I'm not surprised in the least it was a CG product as they did some formula changes a while back keeping what works, getting rid of what didn't and coming up with some new things and repackaging:joyfull:

Just read an interesting (lengthy, and quite in-depth) article about top-rated matte lipsticks for 2020.

Thought I'd share it here.

Oh, how I miss wearing lipstick...
Great article, thanks for sharing!
