I don't mind cicadas. Yes, they are loud but short lived and I find them amusing. I used to hear them when I was a kid and young adult and never really knew what they were until I moved down to NC. It was actually the first time I saw their left behind outer shells and that even amused me more.

I agree.
The thing is people star showed to shoot off fireworks in the Middle of the Night even before Summer started. Last year, it started in May and lasted through a party of July every night. Last year the worst by far. The illegal fireworks for forth of July lasted for 4 or 5 hours at least.
I have bad feeling about this year. The lakefront fireworks for July 3rd was cancelled due to being short handed of people. I'm waiting to see how the parks are going to be handled.

Don’t you hate those helicopter seeds? They stick up in the grass, and look freaky!And they clog up the gutters.
But, they were the inspiration for rotary-winged flight...!!!

Oh yea, and I can’t believe I forgot to post this yesterday...
I’m usually one of the first to show up at the office every mornin’, and when I drove into the parkin’ garage yesterday mornin’ this was our company Jeep...whoever they were lost a coupla’ cheap Jack stands, but probably gained a bunch more...!!!!!!!
Even the partners were laughin’ about it...!!!!!
It’s a 20+ year-old ride, and has almost always been left in our parkin’ garage, in an extremely low crime rate location of the Austin area. Even so, we were surprised it took this long...!!!!!

I have never seen so many as this year. Driveways covered, gutters filled over the top with them. All of the pots I have planted are covered every morning. And the grass. Ugh. Some of my neighbors are using leaf blowers, and picking them up like leaves, so they don't end up with scraggly maple forests.Don’t you hate those helicopter seeds?
