So my parents called yesterday from the MK. You can tell there is a staffing problem. The majority of the food carts were closed. Rides were broken. They didn't ride Splash Mountain which broke down twice. Shops had lines to get in which I thought Disney stopped that.

There staying at the Swan and Dolphin which they are not a fan of the room.

Yikes. Oh, regarding the hotel, which one of the two are they staying at?

That's not good. I heard there is a hiring blitz to work for quick service locations starting pay at $14 per hour. Hopefully it is successful so more areas can be reopened in the parks.

Really? I was at MK yesterday and it was lovely. Only a 20 minute wait for Space Mountain, 15 for BTM. The only time I've noticed a staff shortage was getting food; I thought they must have been slaughtering the chicken when I got lunch at Pecos Bill.

They are still controlling shop capacity and those shops on Main Street don't have a lot of space, though I got into the Emporium midday without trouble. Mouse gear is the place to go if you want to shop.

Splash breaks down all the time; that's not new with the pandemic.

Well, I haven't been in 3 years, but I always loved the Swan for many reasons. Wondering why they didn't like the room -- was it the size, or some other reason? (I know some of their rooms aren't that big, but it was never an issue for me, because I went solo.) Also, the better room views are generally over at the Dolphin, if it was the view they didn't care for at the Swan.
