Well now, you young whippersnapper, you just remember to keep a meter and a half distance from those ladies trying to break down your door!I have mixed emotions about the social aspect. I love to have discussions with people, but since my divorce in 2001 I have basically been a loner. I always make a strong effort to be open and willing to talk to anyone, but I don't pursue it strongly. Not because I see anything wrong with it, but in situations like this were I am the new kid, the neophyte as it were, I am uncomfortable with that particular status. One thing I hadn't considered was that the majority of the population here is female and I hadn't bargained on as much attention as I have gotten from the ladies. I actually didn't notice it but my 18 year old grandson did and mentioned it (a lot). Now I am scared to leave my apartment! Just kidding, I'm fine with it.
But in all seriousness, I hope you will come to enjoy the interaction with others. I think there's always a bit of a...not really a learning curve, but a period of getting used to any new situation. It may seem foreign now, but in a few months, once you know your neighbors and people aren't so afraid to have contact with others, it might even be something you look forward to. Even if it's just waving to a neighbor as you pass in the hall on your way to get the mail.

Good luck! Sometimes I'm really glad I don't drink coffee! Some of our takeout/delivery places are closed down, too. I'm glad we ordered Chinese food last week, because they are closed down now and not even delivering or anything.
We're at 5 confirmed cases in our town, but I was at the Aldi this morning to see if they had pasta since my regular store was out. One of the employees was on the phone with another...apparently she was scheduled to work this afternoon, but was calling in sick with a headache, sore throat, fever and cough. On the upside, the Aldi has wipes at the registers for customer use...I wiped my hands and the keypad on the debit card machine and I washed my hands when I got home.
On the upside, the grocery store had flour for the first time in a month, so I picked up three 1kg bags so I can make all the things I've been wanting to make but couldn't. I imagine it will go fast, so it won't matter that the stock boys put it in the wrong space. They put it in the spot for self-rising flour...close, so people should still find it. I did.

I think it's Indonesian? It's kind of a steamed bread with filling. Mine were filled with beef, or chicken saté. They were on sale last week so I got some for lunches. Anything fresh like fruit, veggies, bread, meat is hard to get right now. You have to time it right. So we're living off of leftovers and ready to eat things.

Interesting. I'd never heard of them, but they kind of look like Chinese Bao buns. Sounds like they would be tasty.
