I did a part of the Thanksgiving dinner some my younger brother was working. While workended at 2:15 p.m., some of the stuff had to be done already.

I helped my dad. I did an important part of Sweet potato casserole with marshmallows. The Sweet Potato casserole with marshmallows was done in a slow cooker. My job was to mash the canned Sweet Potatoes in a bowl into another bowl before putting it in the slow cooker.

I was my dad's assistant for the turkey. I had to give my dad a bowl of cut apple, cut oranges, and cut lemons for stuff the turkey. My job also was to keep the turkey bag open for my dad putting the turkey in the bag.

I was an assistant for the stuffing. My job was to give dad the ingredients that were in bowls and containers. The Stuffing was not put into the bird, but it was put into oblong baking dish instead.

My mom had Pumpkin pie the day before. She also made Mashed potatoes, peas and carrots and gravy. The Hawaiian rolls was the last thing put in the oven.

Sounds like you were a sous chef for the day!

Wow, does this ever bring back some distant memories...!!!!!!! :joyfull:
I was at Philmont for a week in the summers of both ‘80 and ‘81, and it was two of the best times EVER of my late teens...!!!!!
Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did...!!! :)
I've never been to Philmont. Believe me, I want to. Been to Northern Tier back in 2013

Gonna’ go back now and try a wee bit of ketchup...!!!:geek:;):)
It all looks wonderful. That portable high chair for Emy is so cute. Of course Emy is cuter!
When do the trees start budding again?

We had a nice quiet day yesterday and then we took the boys Christmas shopping and it went as expected. The store wasn't too busy we got everything on the lists and only a couple of extra items. I have to say our Walmart was extremely organized people started getting in about 4, they had free coffee and goodies and we were checked out by 6:05. I feel sorry for those getting in after we left because the traffic going into the shopping area was insane!!!!!!! Heading back out to get some groceries in a bit, I'm going to try and hit the sweet spot time wise between the early morning shoppers and those that sleep in.

I liked the Temptation and Tina Turner one as well. I missed Chicago’s performance somehow. :(
On another note I scored an amazing deal on a pair of boots for my youngest. She is having a problem getting hers on, and the hand me down pair is 2 sizes too big. Found a great deal on QVC. Never shopped on it before but they had a welcome offer of $15 off. The boots were also discounted. So for $22 I got her a pair of fuzzy lined boots. They are the Koolaburra by Ugg brand. Shipping was free too.

Great boots buy for your daughter!!

As for Chicago's "performance" on the float they were on, you didn't miss anything. I was really disappointed that they didn't sing of of their own songs (I mean -- there's so many to choose from!!). Instead, and I don't know if it was their decision or not, they just sang some common Christmas song, and it was less than thrilling. Plus, the float they were on really didn't "fit" well (in a theme sense) with them. I dunno -- the whole thing was just "off" for them yesterday.

Baby Spice's accent is wonderful. They should have a British host all the time. I feel my IQ slowly dropping watching some of this.

The Disney special last night wasn't half bad, actually. For once, it was mostly an entertaining show and they highlighted the parks quite nicely, I thought. There wasn't the usual overt advertising, (as in, those hideous saccharin-injected discussions from the hosts), like they usually do -- which kills most of their TV "specials". I felt the commentary from the hosts was adequate this time, and fairly painless. ;)

I thought it was pretty good this time too. I’m not a very fond of Sting though and wasn’t thrilled that he sang a non-Christmas song for a holiday special.

Looks like a very happy time for the entire family! I won't even ask how many pounds that turkey was . . . ;)

As usual, Emy stole the spotlight with her most practical tabletop chair! :joyfull: I want one of those -- what better way to get CLOSE to the food!! :hilarious:

So this blew my mind.... my little brother (the one I'm always showing is on TV) his restaurant served 800 people today for Thanksgiving dinner. Wholy buckets!

Thanksgiving has turned out to be a very big day for many restaurants. Where we went yesterday (with hubs and sister), there was a steady stream of patrons. Then, what somewhat surprised me, were the number of people who kept coming in to the front reception area, to pick up their (pre-ordered, via phone) full turkey dinners in the "to go" food boxes. That restaurant was a goldmine yesterday! :jawdrop:

Oh, I LOVE Sting!! Thought he was the BEST on the show! :joyfull:

I liked the Pentatonix group, they were festive and seem to be on every Disney special lately.

The group I would have to say I could’ve done without was that one that performed in Galaxys Edge, Portugal meets man (or something like that). They were horrible but not my style of music though.

Pentatonix is an excellent group, period. I don't think they could mess up anything. Very much enjoyed them as well. :inlove:

I'm not familiar with Portugal. The Man, though. Their first song did nothing for me. However, they came back on again later on in the show (Galaxy's Edge stage again). One of the songs I liked, and I think it was a holiday song -- but, I was back and forth between rooms at that time, and not paying close enough attention. Anyway, I preferred their 2nd appearance over the first one.

You know, that is probably why I missed them. I was preparing food in the kitchen and the tv was on in the family room. It is an open space. I probably ignored them because I only heard a Christmas song and not one of theirs. Yes, that is disappointing.
