Yum! I’m with you on looking forward to Thanksgiving dinner. One of my students ta asked me yesterday what I was looking forward to over the break and I said eating stuffing and mashed potatoes!

My mom is making chorizo stuffing and double baked mashed potatoes. Yum.

The other dishes..... I'm not so found about. Broccoli and carrot casserole. I mostly don't like my vegetables cooked all the way

chorizo stuffing might be interesting. I don’t think I would care for the broccoli casserole either. But I don’t like broccoli, carrots would be ok though.

I think back to a few years ago, when you couldn't stand the turkey platter that your (aunt?, grandmother?) had. It was something about the design of the plate that you thought was lame. I still crack up over that, to this day! :D

Speaking of veggies that others hate and I like, I went to the farmers market with a friend that needed a "big ole mess of greens" (of the collard variety, which I hate) for Thanksgiving dinner and I bought a small package of Brussel Sprouts that seems to be universally hated. I had never purchased them fresh, just frozen and partially cooked (blanched I think). I saw some interesting recipes on Google, but the one that caught my eye was roasted with garlic. Has anyone have a favorite recipe for Sprouts they would like to share?

Roasted with garlic and some salt is my favorite way actually.

The viewing of our old friend went about as well as can be expected. His parents were taking it really hard...even when you’re as old as they are you don’t want to be burying one of your children...he actually was a decent man, but, just couldn’t shake those demons. :(

But, last night was AWESOME seein’ so many ol’ friends again for the surprise 60th birthday party of one of ‘em...!!!!!!! :joyfull:
Some pics, and the first one is after I ate my first 2 fajitas and just went back for more beef...also, the lame pic of the car is a restored ‘66 ‘Stang with a 289...!!!!!!! :joyfull::hilarious::happy:6B1CE30E-AEB1-46AD-933D-4745DDD7DBDA.jpegFD2A8F6A-8AA6-466F-A2B0-73412C9185B3.jpegFC251038-F7E0-4960-8994-8D1F792E0D29.jpeg07724932-2B84-4ABA-8979-C3BCA675F20A.jpeg8487E386-5901-4BC4-A094-AAF91C11A08A.jpegCA7C3D7C-4321-4CF4-8A6A-96389EF08791.jpegE77A800D-7E3A-4F7B-B8DD-5170D16AF12E.jpeg

Our weekend-

Friday- T had basketball Basketball practice at 4:30, straight to a teammate’s house for pizza party afterwards.
Then, was picked up by another parent at 6:30 to head to another friend’s birthday party at a trampoline park from 7-9.

Saturday- Soccer game and Basketball game.

Today- 2 soccer games, in different locations.

This evening- Winterfest at KI with 3 of his soccer teammates and parents. We’re going ice skating and possibly a Rollercoaster in the freezing cold 😬

I think we’ll both be ready for bed as soon as we get home tonight.lol

My kid has more of a social life than I do right now. 🤣

Lightly drizzled with evoo, a sprinkle of salt, a dash or 2 of pepper and an extremely light dusting of onion and garlic powder then roasted until lightly browned
Option 2 Satuee some chopped bacon until just starting to brown then add halved or sliced sprouts and cook until desired softness
Option 3 whip egg whites until frothy, coat sprouts then dredge in flour of your choice(corn starch gives a light tempura like feel) and spices of your choice then deep fry 350 degrees until lightly browned. If I use corn starch I serve with a dipping sauce of equal parts aminos or soy sauce and rice wine vinegar with a bit of finely chopped fresh ginger and a bit of stevia or sugar to taste. The dipping sauce tastes best if you let it sit for at least an hour but even better overnight in the fridge
Do you need any more ideas to get you started?
