Well, that was an adventure...
Actually, I was only there for about 2 hrs. and 40 mins. altogether, and now I have my “Real ID”. Not too bad, as I’ve heard of folks waiting upwards of 5 hrs. with all this Real ID stuff.
Oct. 1, 2020 is the deadline, and if you don’t have it you won’t be able to fly.
I’ll just attribute the relative brevity of my DPS visit to my good luck Mickey shirt...!!!!!

I got mine last September because I like to fly.... got hubbies when his expired in august, so we are all set.... got passports, got real ID's... will travel!

I brought my current license (of course), birth certificate, social security card, and passport for good measure. Although you, obviously, don’t need a passport, but, they still entered it in their system. Our passports don’t expire for over 8 years, so good to go here as well...!!!

But you can still use a passport to fly, right? Or get Global Entry. I have a feeling it will be easier to renew my passport than get a Real ID.

Yep, but they’re only 3.4 lq. oz., so you’d hafta drink a few (in my case many
) at 8% ABV to get a good buzz...!!!!!

No clue about the ease.
All I know is I’ve been told that you’ll need a Real ID to fly after the date I posted. Which indicates to me that you’ll need Real
ID to fly domestic, and Real ID and a passport to fly international.
BTW...
