My yellow lab was classified as a giant longer and taller than most. 100# of happy pup. I had him at six weeks and was trained to walk at my left side by 8 weeks. Given my small size I had to train him to listen or it was all over. His brain only turned to Jello if the man across the road from me was outside then Walters brain turned to Jello if the dude was 6’4” and encouraged that. I watched many reruns of I Dream of Jeanie and Bewitched. And on Directv there is a channel, fetv I think it is, that has a bunch of old shows and those two are on it. I have the DVR set to record them. I love turning on the tv to some of these shows. I also have most of these to shows on dvd.

I actually liked Maelstrom, but it could have used an update. What I object to with Frozen Ever After is simply the fact that they put a fictional place in the world showcase with all the real countries. It just doesn't belong there. And I understand that they based a lot of the clothing and architecture on Norway, but it's still not Norway. Frozen was huge, so by all means, make a Frozen attraction, but NOT in the world showcase! But my kids never experienced Maelstrom, so that's no biggie to them, while they really enjoyed EEA. DS got a bit scared at one part where an animatronic dinosaur got really close, but other than that, he loved it. And they do see value in nostalgia and those old classic rides like Journey into the Imagination, EEA, etc. They were both so sad when EEA closed and were glad we got to ride it on our last trip.

I knew 25, but I don't watch spongebob and I wasn't a fan of the Simpsons, though I have seen bits and pieces. The ones that tripped me up were the modern ones....the little baby with the football-shaped head, the one that looks kind of like Yosemite Sam with long arms and a taller hat, etc...

We just discovered that new station recently, and it does have a bunch of old favorites on it.

As far as the harem pants discussion of yesterday, as it relates to "I Dream of Jeanie" -- that show was controversial at the beginning. Reason: harem pants -- more specifically, it was because she revealed her naval, and the network censors were having a meltdown over it. Nowadays, it's hard to believe that an exposed naval caused an uproar, with the type of (or lack of) clothing we see on some tv shows now. ;)

I understand that, however, the old mission was not working and no one ever got to see the Norway for what it was because, well, it was dull. At least this put people in the pavilion and brought a little life into a concept that, in my opinion, had run it's course. Since Norway wasn't interested in helping promote Norway and the buildings and concept were already in place then all that happened was a renewed interest in the area and people able to see what was left of the Norway experience.

The entire "Worlds Fair" concept went out with the introduction of the Internet. Everything that one possibly would care to know about any nation is right at our fingertips. There was no need to go outside our homes to explore the cultures because it was right there in our computers. It did, however, need something to entertain, in a less then classroom fashion, and draw people in to enjoy the show. In my opinion we will be seeing a lot more of that in World Showcase. They had to do something before they had to change the name to Restaurant Showcase. They have already made the change with Mexico and Norway while American Adventure, France and Canada started out and remained entertaining. There was a need to attach a defibrillator to the rest of the places and put new life into them, or they were just going to die. Yes, Epcot's mission statement has changed over the years and for some of us, not for the better, but, it seriously is a small group that really think that the old way was going to survive. As much as I enjoyed the beginning years of EPCOT, it no longer was something I spent any time in after I had seen the few shows that interested me. I can't begin to tell you how many pavilions that I just walked on by because they were all commercialized, especially Japan, and of no interest to me. What always seemed ironic to me was that the last actual Worlds Fair that I went to was in Japan in 1970 and that was great.
