I had a half dead bat fall on my dinner plate once. I freaked out a bit but not too much. It's beady little eyes were just staring at me. I still kick myself for not taking a picture before our guide threw it in the river. Now if it had been a snake...![]()
I am going to write out some more Christmas cards today. I don't get that many cards anymore, but I still like to mail some out to friends and family that I don't see during the year. I guess lots of people have given up the tradition/practice of Christmas cards. Stamps are more costly, but people spend lots more money on other holiday things.
Mine comes with the 75-300 mm lens. It was $400 for just the camera or $500 for the extra lens and the carrying case. Needless to say, I went the $500 route.I bought my first DSLR last year - I'm head over heels for it! (I got a refurbed Canon t5) I'm hoping Santa brings me a 75-300mm lens for Christmas.![]()
My mom has a kitchen aid mixer she found at Macy's on a really great deal. That thing is fantastic. Really heavy, but fantastic. She bought it years ago, and you cannot even tell.Nice!! I'd love to have a good camera like that, but there are so many things I would love to have...a kitchen aid mixer...also around $600+. When I win millions in the lottery, I'll buy all those little things I've been wanting. Good for you for jumping on it while you had the chance!
booo! I'm in the nikon campCanon
Boooo, Canon for the win !booo! I'm in the nikon camp![]()

Seems like a good combo.Mine comes with the 75-300 mm lens. It was $400 for just the camera or $500 for the extra lens and the carrying case. Needless to say, I went the $500 route.

I got my mattress and tested it today (as in yesterday's night).. comfy! but way taller!
I also just got my second flash. Since I'm going to work part time as event photographer as well.. I needed a backup.
Good cameras. I downsized from one to an EOS-M mirrorless.Ha. My mom has a canon, so I stuck with that.
Here is the history behind that:
My mom, back when she was working (so before I was born, we're talking 25+ years ago) was using a company camera on an assignment. She loved it, but couldn't swing for her own.
Then, her coworker got a Canon EOS rebel when they came out. My mom borrowed it, then went out to buy her own.
That thing lasted until 2009. She went out and bought the latest EOS rebel.
Which is then what I've been known to borrow (and what I took on my California trip). So hence, I was destined to get an EOS rebel.
You mean to get DS home? Same as every other day. It doesn't snow here much. If it gets TOO bad, we'll call my DH and he can come home and pick DS up, OR we can call a taxi for that one time. But other than that, it's bicycle. It's only a few miles, so it's not too bad. The worst thing the other day was we had bad timing and the draw bridge was up to let a boat through, so we had to wait and the rain was really coming down. Then as soon as we finally got over the bridge, the rain turned to sleet and that's what was stinging so badly. That's why we took cover. What do you do when it snows?
That's exactly it...he knew I didn't want to read it...that I absolutely REFUSE to read it. That's why it made it so funny to him...to see my reaction. No e-reader for me either. Never read 50 Shades. No desire. (No pun intended.)![]()
