Hubs and I went out there in 2014, we drove all the way to California. Yellowstone was amazing. We loved it a lot with the mountains and wide open spaces. The geysers were fascinating, neither of us had ever seen a geyser. I was lucky enough to get us a room at the Old Faithful Inn so we were able to see Old Faithful erupt. That is one of my favorite memories was sitting on their balcony and drinking some wine and watching the geyser erupt with the sunset.

I'm with you, I would rather have the actual book. I have read a few books on my iPhone but I'm not a fan.
Watching the geyser errupt from your balcony sounds amazing! I love experiences like that, I would much rather spend my money doing something fun than buying new shoes etc.
Your dinner drink looked very tasty, I was a bit surprised it was so pink when it had crème de cacao in it. Do they just make it pink with food coloring?

I did read 50 shades because I wanted to know what the fuss was about. It was a badly written smut book with a stupid story line. Honestly not worth anyone's time reading it.

I read it for the same reason, lol. Honestly I read all three books. I skipped over most of the smut scenes though (they got really repetitive) and what's left over is a story about a boy that gets angry if he doesn't get his way and a girl who doesn't have any direction in life and their codependent relationship. I'm normally a book hoarder, but those ones went quickly in the donate pile.

Starting to finally shake off this stupid cold I've had for 8 days now. (Everyone around here has it.) Needless to say, I've gone through a ton of Kleenex.

Now, my dog has hit an all-time low--even for him--even with all his boorish behavior over the years. (Note: He loves any trash basket, because he thinks they're his toy boxes. ) So his latest treasure hunts have included pulling out all of my USED Kleenex from the baskets! I come home from work and find bits and pieces of Kleenex all over the house. It is beyond my comprehension why he want to play with, and EAT, my rhinovirus-infused SNOT RAGS??!!! :jawdrop:  :hungover: Gaaackkkk attack!

My husband likes to pull pranks on me...things like, when I ask him to print out my vacation lists, he prints them and then also prints a "list of lists" to make fun of me. So, I don't have an e-reader, but he knows how much I LOVE to read...he comes home with a "gift" for me. He says I should get an e-reader and he has my first digital book for me! Fifty Shades of Grey!:jawdrop::cautious::mad:

No e-reader for me either. Never read 50 Shades. No desire. (No pun intended.);)

I don't even know how the 50 Shades books got published...I read 1 paragraph of the first one because a friend had a copy and she suggested I read it and I couldn't even believe how bad the writing was...even just grammatically. It was HORRIBLE.

Glad you're feeling better but stop picking on poor Jack. I'm sure he was just feeling neglected this week.

My dogs do the same thing with tissues, paper towels, etc. we cannot leave stuff in uncovered waste paper baskets. One of ours even got into the habit of dumping the kitchen garbage can with a lid over and foraging through the refuse. Whoever was first to wake up and find it(usually dh) was not happy at all.

Well, I kind of splurged tonight. My mom has a DSLR, and I borrowed it for my California trip, and I've really been wanting my own (she's usually pretty nice about letting me borrow hers but sometimes she says no, which is fair), but they usually run in the $700s, and I just couldn't do that. Well, I've been browsing Amazon, and they had an updated model of her camera. Normally $750...$500. As a Cyber Monday Deals Week sale. I was not going to find a better deal than that, so I jumped on it. It has full HD, WiFi, and can even shoot video. That's more than hers can do. And considering hers it about 7 years old and going strong, I'd say it'll last. Coming Monday, very excited. :D

Sounds like an excellent treat for yourself, those types of cameras are so nice. I'm sure you'll get a lot of use and fun out of it. And if you want to post any pictures you take with it I'm sure we'd all love to see. (I hope that last part didn't sound too creepy.:cautious:) :)

My husband has started feeding the birds and the squirrels in our backyard. I have nothing against looking out for the wildlife, however years ago when we did this, it attracted the rats. Thankfully, so far that has not happened again. My husband tells me not to be so negative. I, on the other hand am just being realistic. Living in Chicago, with all it's problems will do that to person. Especially when neighbors can't even do a simple thing like keeping the lids on their garbage cans.
