It's not really a matter of money, it is where they spend it. I will be the first one to say that the area around here is beautiful. Flowers everywhere. Flowering trees, Rose Bushes. Plants designed for different temperature ranges. Grass mowed constantly in the medians and sides of the road. We have at least 15 parks with beautifully manicure baseball fields, Hundreds of Soccer fields of all sizes for every age. Tennis courts and lighted football fields and Basketball courts everywhere. I can't even begin to count the number of Green Way paved walking paths that even involved tunneling under main streets and highways to build. They have money especially when you figure that the number of snow events we get per year, one, maybe two or on the wild side three. The cost of having the equipment and training to keep the roads safe for those few events would be what it cost them to plant thousands of Daffodils at the exits on the interstates that people go by at 75 miles an hour and only see a yellow slash of light. It isn't something I think about a lot, but, as a transplanted northerner where the only excuse for not going to school was either bleeding from the ears or the bus had overturned into a ditch and that was only good for a 1 hour delay. It just tends to frustrate me a little.
We close somewhere around 4 inches sometimes, always for ice and over a foot may get us a day and a half depending on the timing.

Thanks for asking, but, nope, not yet.
Life and scheduling issues have again caused more fun.
It's the new year, thus we haven't come close to meeting any healthcare deductibles that would cover the MRI to the tune of just under $2,000. And, we just payed $1,000 for an unexpected car repair, to boot.
Again, it's not life-threatening, just very annoying. But, I've dealt with it this long, so I'll continue to as long as I need to.
Life's a kooky ride sometimes, but, as I've said before, no pity party here...others have it way worse than I.
I'm so very sorry to hear that.

We went to Jungle Cruise Skipper Canteen for dinner tonight. We'd been in August, and I had the noodle bowl, which I thought was good. I got it again tonight. They must've changed it, because it was BAD. I mean, it was horrible. O ended up sending it back because it was turning my stomach. I told the waiter that the spices were just wrong for the dish. They ended up taking it off the bill, and I came back and got a burger from the Mara. I've never sent a meal back for being just plain bad, and I felt pretty horrible doing it, but it was just not good.

It's quite a shame because they've built this huge restaurant that has some of the better theming, not to mention a wonderful staff, but the food was just not good. They have three dining rooms, and it was mostly empty. But I will say their bread is some of the best around.

But for now, I would say that basically any other place is a better choice. They really need to rework their menu.
Sorry to hear that! I've had a few and thankfully not many food misses down there but never sent anything back. I would have at BOG if I could have gotten our server's attention:mad: We're not heading back for dinner next time we go.:(

Interesting time ahead this year. My mother did another one of her incredible stunts and managed to fall over her own crutches and plant on the floor about a week ago. This weeks visit to the Dr has seen her put in line for a hip replacement. Seems like it's her turn for the injury this year.
Sorry to hear that. Good luck dealing with her and her hip. My mother in law got hers done after years of putting it off and it was the best thing for her once it was done. She gets around better than ever and no longer needs us to do as much for her:joyfull: prayers and pixie dust. xoxo

Thanks. there seems to be one injury a year in the family and fingers crossed this was it this year (last year Mrs F's toe :in pain: , year before that Mother broke her arm :in pain: ( another falling over stunt)). She has been wanting the surgery for a while and this has pushed it forward. Thankfully it's covered under her in-sewer-ants .

Best wishes to your mom, for a successful surgery. When she's recovering, you can go visit her and give her a kiss. That will cheer her up and speed up her healing process.
