so, they are all reactive and not proactive (aka act only when things fail and not have a backup?)
Sounds pretty illogical. Because for many factories.. a simple stop for more than 1 day could cost millions in production lost.

The molds once designed are not all that volatile. They schedule maintenance during down times. If they shoot a million parts and have adequate parts in inventory you do your maintenance of the mold. When a mold crashes, usually it literally gets crashed in a press.

Think of it another way. Airline. A flight gets cancelled because of a mechanical issue. If the plane is out of service for a day and has multiple cancellations that day it runs into a great deal of money to have that plane out of service. But rarely does an airline have one or two extra aircrafts waiting in the wings just in case the scheduled plane has a mechanical issue. Or - Our Starbucks convection oven broke this week. They have not had the ability to offer hot foods all week. Lots of lost revenue. Still they didn't have a commercial convection oven waiting in the wings as a back-up.

Me I have one car. I need that car. Do I have one or two extra just waiting as a back-up? While it would be nice for corporations to have duplicates of everything for contingencies is just isn't financially feasible and would ratchet up the price of any end product greatly if everything needed one or two back ups waiting in the wings.

We went to Jungle Cruise Skipper Canteen for dinner tonight. We'd been in August, and I had the noodle bowl, which I thought was good. I got it again tonight. They must've changed it, because it was BAD. I mean, it was horrible. O ended up sending it back because it was turning my stomach. I told the waiter that the spices were just wrong for the dish. They ended up taking it off the bill, and I came back and got a burger from the Mara. I've never sent a meal back for being just plain bad, and I felt pretty horrible doing it, but it was just not good.

It's quite a shame because they've built this huge restaurant that has some of the better theming, not to mention a wonderful staff, but the food was just not good. They have three dining rooms, and it was mostly empty. But I will say their bread is some of the best around.

But for now, I would say that basically any other place is a better choice. They really need to rework their menu.

I heard the same thing in the last several months about Flying Fish and Cali Grill. Thinking they shook up the chefs a bit too much all at once and too many menu changes at the same time. Change is only good if it is better.:joyfull:

I'm sure I've mentioned this before but I have a friend who's involved with rescuing St Bernards. He has 2 of his own and fosters sometimes. Yup that's what they're like. Cute but big:eek:

Walt loved to sit on my DD. It was as if he was saying if I sit on you you can't get up and leave, you'll just have to keep paying attention to me.

Airlines do have a few planes in standby. But obviously they cant cover all delays or damages.. because they are rare.
Plus they have CODESHARES to offload to other airlines too.

Your car.. I dont think that kinda works.. because you're not a corporation losing missions for just losing your car temporarily :P
And if you really depended your life on it, you could rent a car, get a taxi or a uber.

Plot twist.. the food quality downgrade is because they are now buying lower quality ingredients and less spices as per cost cuts (Didn't Marny leaked that cost cut measure a few months ago?)

*edit*
Still, regardless.. sad that she had to endure inedible food D:

Interesting time ahead this year. My mother did another one of her incredible stunts and managed to fall over her own crutches and plant on the floor about a week ago. This weeks visit to the Dr has seen her put in line for a hip replacement. Seems like it's her turn for the injury this year.

Oh my. Sympathy like.
Hope the surgery, recovery, and quality of life go well...!
